Dellavedova will start Sunday against the Pistons in place of the injured Kyrie Irving (knee), Joe Gabriele of Cavs.com reports.
Dellavedova logged 36 minutes when he started in favor of Irving Saturday, and although he scored just eight points on 2-of-7 shooting, he should at least see a similar workload. The Cavs are optimistic that Irving will be able to return by Tuesday, but if the team decides to take a conservative approach, look for Dellavedova to get another start.

Dellavedova started in place of Kyrie Irving (knee) Friday against the Magic. Dellavedova scored eight points (2-7 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and added one rebound, three assists, and one steal in 36 minutes.
Dellavedova saw a huge boost in minutes, but he didn't do very much with them. In the short term, his value is virtually unchanged, given his lack of productivity and Irving's likelihood to return to action quickly. But the role of Irving's backup has been an important one in recent years, given his injury history, and it is good to know that Dellavedova currently holds that job. All of Dellavedova's shots were three-point attempts, and he could hold noticeable value as a three-point specialist if Irving were to miss a lot of time.

Dellavedova (illness) was held scoreless (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and grabbed one rebound in 12 minutes Monday against the Hornets.

Dellavedova was admitted to a New Orleans medical center following Friday's loss to the Pelicans due to a stomach issue. While he admitted he's not yet 100 percent, Dellavedova will play Monday and should see his usual complement of 20-25 minutes.

Dellavedova became sick following Friday's game and was admitted to a medical center in New Orleans for the night.
He was able to return to Cleveland with Dion Waiters (abdomen), who was also held in New Orleans overnight, and more information about his status should be available after Sunday's practice. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Dellavedova missed all five of the shots he attempted Friday in a loss to the Pelicans, playing 24 minutes off the bench with Dion Waiters out.
Waiters was ruled out after playing 10 minutes with abdominal pain. This was the second night in a row Dellavedova filled in for an injured player, starting in place of LeBron James on Thursday. While the Australian didn't register any points Friday, he did have five rebounds, three assists and a steal. Unless Waiters is going to miss significant time with this abdominal injury, Dellavedova should be avoided in most leagues.

Dellavedova played 34 minutes during his replacement stint for LeBron James (knee) on Thursday and managed to put up an efficient 14 points (5-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt), five rebounds, four assists, and one steal against the Thunder.
With James off the court, Shawn Marion slid down to small forward and Dellavedova was inserted into the starting lineup at shooting guard. Dellavedova's 34 minutes were the most that he's played all season and he could be in line for another start with James heading into Friday's game against the Pelicans listed as questionable.

Dellavedova will start Thursday against the Thunder, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Dellavedova will receive the start in the backcourt alongside Kyrie Irving, with Shawn Marion shifting to small forward. He, Marion, Dion Waiters and James Jones are all candidates for added minutes in the absence of Lebron (knee).

Dellavedova (knee) scored two points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt) to go along with three rebounds, three assists and one block in 16 minutes Monday against the Nets.
Dellavedova played in his first game in over a month Monday and while he provides the Cavaliers with guard depth, he doesn't warrant significant fantasy consideration.
Mon Dec 8 201418:19Dellavedova (knee) will play in Monday's game against Nets
Dellavedova (knee) will play in Monday's game against the Nets, the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Dellavedova will play with an unspecified minutes restriction, but he will suit up Monday for the first time since Nov. 4. Expect him to be worked back into the Cavaliers' guard rotation behind starters Kyrie Irving and Shawn Marion.
Mon Dec 8 201416:05Dellavedova (knee) expected to return Monday against Nets
Dellavedova (knee) is expected to return Monday against the Nets, Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio reports.
Dellavedova, who's missed 15 straight games with a sprained MCL, has been practicing since Wednesday and is on track to resume his role as the Cavs' backup point guard. Prior to the injury, the second-year guard averaged 2.7 points and 2.3 assists in 19.7 minutes. Of course, three games is an incredibly small sample size, but Dellavedova figures to return to a similar workload.

Dellavedova (knee) will not play Thursday against the Knicks, Chris Haynes of CSN reports.

Dellavedova (knee) does not expect to take the court before Monday's game in Brooklyn, the Akron Beacon Journal's Jason Lloyd reports.
He said he will practice Wednesday, but wants a second practice Sunday before returning to game action. He brings a lot to the table, but generally needs the ball in his hands to be fantasy viable, and that won't happen much on this Cleveland team.

Dellavedova (knee) did some 3-on-3 work at Monday's practice and could return as early as this weekend, Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Dellavedova has missed 12 games with a sprained MCL, but it appears a return is not far off. Coach David Blatt intimated that Dellavedova could return during the Cavs' upcoming three-game road swing, which begins Thursday in New York. While a return for that game may be a bit optimistic, it's more realistic to think Dellavedova could play Friday in Toronto or Monday in Brooklyn. The team parted ways with Will Cherry and brought in A.J. Price over the weekend, so when he returns, Dellavedova will compete with Price for reserve point guard minutes.
Sat Nov 29 201409:11Dellavedova (knee) currently without timetable for return
Dellavedova (knee) is currently without a timetable for return, the Akron Bacon Journal reports.
Dellavedova sprained his MCL at the beginning of November and was originally given a six week timetable for return. That would make him available in early December, although the Cavaliers have since revoked that initial return date. Until further news is released from Cleveland, consider Dellavedova out for the time being.
Wed Nov 5 201421:11Dellavedova diagnosed with sprained MCL
Dellavedova has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL, and could miss up to six weeks, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Dellavedova was ruled out for the remainder of the Cavs' current road trip earlier Wednesday evening, but this new report clearly extends that projected absence. Although there isn't typically many minutes behind Kyrie Irving in Cleveland, the injury could mean more ball handling time for Dion Waiters. Will Cherry could also see some point guard reps in a pinch.

Dellavedova (knee) will not play for the remainder of the Cavs' current road trip, Chris Haynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Dellavedova injured his knee Tuesday evening, and the ailment will keep him out both Wednesday against the Jazz and Friday against the Nuggets. He'll be reevaluated upon returning to Cleveland, at which point coach David Blatt should have enough information to provide a timetable for return. Dion Waiters could see increased ball-handling duty behind Kyrie Irving for the duration of Dellavedova's absence, with Mike Miller and James Jones both candidates for extra reps in the Cleveland backcourt.

Dellavedova will not play in Wednesday's game against the Jazz due to a left knee injury.
Dellavedova exited Tuesday's game in Portland during the fourth quarter after injuring his knee, which will sideline him for the second game of Cleveland's current back-to-back set Wednesday. According to the Cavs' press release, Dellavedova's status will be updated as appropriate moving forward. With Dellavedova out versus the Jazz, Dion Waiters will probably assume more ball handling duties than usual Wednesday.
Wed Apr 9 201422:01Matthew Dellavedova puts up a double-double
Matthew Dellavedova put up a double-double thanks to garbage time during an easy 122-100 win over the Pistons on Wednesday, scoring 14 points with four boards, 12 assists, one steal and four 3-pointers.
The Cavs were smoking in the first half with 69 points and they played some team ball. In fact, 26 of their 30 buckets came via an assist. They kept it up in the second half to finish with 41, which obliterated their previous season high of 32 as a team. As for Dellavedova, this outburst can be ignored for the most part.

Wed Mar 26 201423:42Matt Dellavedova scores career-high 21
Matt Dellavedova played 36 minutes off the bench and hit 7-of-9 shots and five 3-pointers on his way to a career-high 21 points, six assists and a steal in Wednesday's big comeback win over the Pistons.
Dellavedova was instrumental in the comeback tonight, but it's important to remember he didn't even score in his previous game, and had nine points in the one prior to that. He's getting minutes and is worth a deep-league look, but Dion Waiters and Jarrett Jack are the guys you generally want to own right now.
