Sun Mar 9 201422:15Corey Brewer plays season-high 44 minutes
Corey Brewer logged a season-high 44 minutes vs. the Raptors, scoring 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting with three rebounds, three assists, six steals and one block.
The six steals were also a season high so hopefully his fantasy owners had him active tonight, as this was his best overall game in recent memory. Brewer's high playing time is another indication that coach Rick Adelman is pulling out all the stops in a last-ditch effort to make the playoffs - the flipside is that there weren't many minutes available for guys like Chase Budinger (13 minutes), Shabazz Muhammad (eight minutes) and Luc Mbah a Moute (four minutes).

Tue Mar 4 201400:46Corey Brewer starting to heat up again
Corey Brewer scored 16 points in Monday's up-tempo game against the Nuggets with two boards, one assist, two steals and one 3-pointer.
He's starting to turn it around after a slump back in the middle of February. Brewer's averages over his last five games include 13.2 points, 2.8 boards, 1.6 steals and 0.6 triples and he's taken 10.4 shots per game. The Wolves have made some hay on the offensive side lately, but it may have something to do with weaker defenses. Brewer isn't a slam-dunk player to own in standard leagues.

Wed Feb 26 201400:34Corey Brewer scores 18 in win
Corey Brewer bounced back from a six-point night with 18 points, two steals and a 3-pointer on 7-of-9 shooting on Tuesday.
He's scored in double figures in four of his last five games, but should take a hit once Kevin Martin is back from his thumb injury. Chase Budinger had 10 points in 30 minutes, and will move back to the bench once Martin is back in action. Brewer will be a borderline player to own once Martin's back, but owners should be prepared for a falloff once it happens.

Mon Feb 24 201401:06Corey Brewer scores just six points vs. POR
Corey Brewer scored just six points vs. the Blazers on Sunday with five boards, one assist, two steals and no turnovers in 32 minutes.
His numbers have been all over the place this season, but he's played well in February. In that span, Brewer averaged 14.4 points, 2.0 steals and 0.5 triples on 52.2 percent shooting in 32.6 minutes. His shot total has jumped up to 11.5 in that stretch from 7.1 in January, so his owners should be expecting a hit once Kevin Martin returns, which could be this week.

Thu Feb 13 201401:24Corey Brewer scores 22 with five steals
Corey Brewer hit 9-of-14 shots and a 3-pointer for 22 points and five steals in Wednesday's win.
We've been hyping him with Kevin Martin's broken thumb and he came through tonight. That wasn't the case on Monday, when he had just five points and was in foul trouble, but for as long as Martin is out, Brewer should put up some nice numbers.

Tue Feb 11 201400:07Corey Brewer gets in foul trouble vs. Houston
Corey Brewer battled foul trouble against the Rockets on Monday, finishing with five points, one assist, two steals and one 3-pointer in 18 minutes.
He picked up his third and fourth fouls in the first few minutes of the second half to cost him a little bit of playing time. Brewer was terrific with a 26-point game on Saturday, so his owners should cut him a little bit of slack. Obviously he's not going to be scoring in the high teens too often and is far from a must-own player based on his body of work in the past few years.

Sat Feb 8 201423:26Corey Brewer scores 26 points vs. Blazers
Corey Brewer scored a season-high 26 points against the Blazers on Saturday to go with seven boards, two assists, one block and no turnovers on 11-of-23 shooting.
He only attempted one shot from downtown and had a different look about him on offense. Entering tonight, Brewer only had four baskets in isolation on the season, which he may have passed on tonight alone. He still was very active in the transition game and it looks like he'll have a bigger role while Kevin Martin (thumb) is out. While he probably won't be this good because Kevin Love will be back soon, Brewer is worth a long look in standard leagues, especially after shooting 51.4 percent from the field in January.

Sat Feb 8 201401:25Corey Brewer plays well in return
Corey Brewer returned from a one-game absence on Friday with 16 points, four boards, two steals and one 3-pointer in 41 minutes against the Pelicans.
His wife had a baby boy and Papa Brewer missed Wednesday's game. He's been making his money in transition on offense this season while providing some defense on the wing for the Wolves. Chase Budinger having some problems with his knee should keep Brewer relevant in most formats and shooting 51.4 percent from the field in January really helps his case, as well. He's a decent steals specialist in deeper formats.

Fri Feb 7 201410:44Corey Brewer expected back Friday
Corey Brewer (personal) is expected to return for Friday's game against the Pelicans.
Brewer missed Wednesday's game due to the birth of his son. The swingman will immediately retake his starting small forward job and play his usual 30-32 minutes.

Wed Feb 5 201413:37Corey Brewer out Wed. after birth of child
Corey Brewer will not play on Wednesday following the birth of his son.
It's a joyous occasion for Brewer and his family, but it leaves the Wolves absent one of their best wing defenders against Kevin Durant and the Thunder. Brewer is expected to rejoin the team in time for Friday's game. Chase Budinger and Dante Cunningham should pick up the most playing time in his absence, with Bud likely starting at SF.

Sat Jan 25 201404:46Brewer scores 15 points with three treys
Corey Brewer scored 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting with three treys, four assists and two steals in Friday's win.
Brewer logged 33 minutes to Chase Budinger's 15 minutes and he has been hot for two games now. Give him a look if you need some threes or if you're in a deeper format.

Wed Jan 22 201400:42Corey Brewer breaks out of funk in win
Corey Brewer broke out of a slump with 19 points, four rebounds, two assists, a steal, two blocks and a 3-pointer in Tuesday's win over the Jazz.
Brewer had scored four or fewer points in three of his last four games, making him tough to start in any format. Maybe tonight's game will get him going, while it doesn't hurt that both Alexey Shved (broken nose) and Kevin Martin (finger) were injured tonight. Keep an eye on Brewer to see if this is the game that kicks off a hot streak.

Sun Jan 12 201421:50Brewer's minutes dwindling w/ Budinger back
Corey Brewer played just over 23 minutes in Sunday's loss in San Antonio, marking the third-fewest minutes he's played all season.
This game got away from the Wolves, and Brewer's playing time has been subject to variance all season long, but we can't dismiss the impact of Chase Budinger's return. With his hold on the SF job uncertain and a minute-share almost guaranteed, fantasy owners should view Brewer as a sporadic source of points, 3s and steals.

Fri Jan 10 201423:32Brewer's hot streak stops in Friday's win
Corey Brewer's suddenly serviceable play halted on Friday as he hit just 2-of-3 shots for four points, one rebound and one block in 28 minutes.
Perhaps owners will want to cut him some slack in a blowout win, but he still logged 27 minutes and it's not too long ago that he was having the same problems. He's certainly not a must-own player in standard formats by any stretch.

Thu Jan 9 201400:58Corey Brewer quietly playing better for MIN
Corey Brewer hit 6-of-10 shots for 15 points, four rebounds, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer in 37 minutes of Wednesday's disheartening loss.
Brewer has scored either 15 or 16 points in four of his last five games, and has hit a 3-pointer in five straight games, and swiped a steal in 10 straight. He went on a terrible run when he scored less than 10 points in six straight games, but has hit double figures in scoring in six of his last seven games. If you need a wingman who is playing fairly well, Brewer might be sitting out there on your waiver wire.

Mon Jan 6 201422:01Corey Brewer gets hot in first half
Corey Brewer scored all 15 of his points in the first half of Monday's win over the Sixers, adding three boards, two assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in 28 minutes.
After a sub-par December thanks to shooting just 36.4 percent from the field, Brewer is starting to get it going again. In his last five, he's averaged 12.6 points, 2.6 boards, 2.4 assists, 2.6 steals and 1.4 triples in 31.6 minutes. Chase Budinger (knee) could be back soon, so that might put a dent in Brewer's upside.

Sat Dec 28 201301:03Corey Brewer scores 10 points in start
Corey Brewer scored 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting with two assists and ons steal in 24 minutes.
This was his first game in double-figure scoring since Dec. 11. He is having a weak December as the starter, scoring just 8.0 points on 30.8 percent shooting his outings before tonight int he month. Brewer isn't really worth owning in most formats based on his play lately.

Mon Dec 23 201300:50Corey Brewer held to season-low three points
Corey Brewer was held to a season-low three points in Sunday's loss, going 1-of-5 from the field with one assist, two turnovers and zero rebounds in 23 minutes.
He did knock down a 3-pointer with a steal and a block but that won't pacify his fantasy owners. Then again, if this scoring dud surprises you, you haven't been paying attention -- Brewer hasn't cracked double-digits in six straight games.

Thu Dec 19 201300:34Corey Brewer still in funk for Wolves
Corey Brewer's struggles continued on Wednesday when he hit 2-of-6 shots for six points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Somehow he was still left on the court for 33 minutes, although he is a good defender, which is apparently his new role for the Wolves. He scored in double figures in 17 or his first 21 games this season, but has now hit single digits in four straight games, and is shooting just 32 percent over his last five, hitting 14-of-44 shots. If you want to drop him for a hot free agent, it seems to make sense.

Mon Dec 16 201322:51Brewer hits rock bottom as Wolves struggle
Corey Brewer hit rock bottom in Monday's loss, hitting just 1-of-8 shots for four points and one rebound in 22 minutes.
It makes sense that Brewer would struggle on a night in which the Wolves hit just 38 percent of their shots, but given his lackluster December it's probable owners in 12-14 team leagues have already moved on. Tonight's result is only going to exasperate that trend.
