Mon Aug 4 201416:32Hembree called up by Red Sox on Monday
Hembree was called up by the Red Sox on Monday, Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports.
Included in the exchange for Jake Peavy with the Giants, Hembree racked up 18 saves with a 3.89 ERA, 1.355 WHIP, and 10.52 K/9 in 39.1 innings through 41 outings at Triple-A Fresno. Considering that the strength of the Red Sox's pitching staff lies in the back end, though, Hembree will likely be contained to middle relief during his second stay in the majors.

Red Sox acquired RHP Heath Hembree and LHP Edwin Escobar from the Giants for RHP Jake Peavy and cash considerations.
Hembree, a hard-throwing 25-year-old reliever, is expected to report to Triple-A Pawtucket. While he fell out of favor in San Francisco, it wouldn't be surprising to see him crack the Red Sox bullpen in short order.

Fri Mar 21 201421:06Giants option Heath Hembree to Triple-A
Giants optioned RHP Heath Hembree to Triple-A Fresno.
This move comes as a bit of a surprise, as the 25-year-old hurler has nothing left to prove at the minor league level and pitched well this spring with a 2.25 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 5/2 K/BB ratio in four innings. He'll assuredly be back with the Giants at some point early in the 2014 season.

Wed Mar 21 201209:13Giants reassign RHP Hembree to minors camp
Giants reassigned RHP Heath Hembree to minor league camp.
Hembree really impressed this spring, allowing one run over six innings while striking out seven and walking just one. The 23-year-old right-hander has averaged 14.0 K/9 in the minors and it shouldn't be long before he's a member of the Giants' bullpen.
