Included in the exchange for Jake Peavy with the Giants, Hembree racked up 18 saves with a 3.89 ERA, 1.355 WHIP, and 10.52 K/9 in 39.1 innings through 41 outings at Triple-A Fresno. Considering that the strength of the Red Sox's pitching staff lies in the back end, though, Hembree will likely be contained to middle relief during his second stay in the majors. | ||||||

The 25-year-old Hembree has served as the closer at Triple-A Fresno for the past three seasons, and owns a 3.89 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 46/13 K/BB ratio over 39 1/3 innings on the year. Escobar, was ranked as Baseball America's 56th best prospect heading into the 2014 season, but has struggled with a 5.11 ERA over 20 starts in the PCL. | ||||||
