Mon Jan 23 202314:30Donovan Mitchell Looks Good During Monday's Practice
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (groin) has missed the last three games due to a lingering injury. However, the star guard appears to be headed in the right direction now. Head coach JB Bickerstaff was not limited and able to do everything during Monday's practice. He's currently listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the New York Knicks. Caris LeVert has been playing an increased role with Mitchell on the sideline. He would continue to start if Mitchell is unable to play again. Fantasy managers will have to check back on Tuesday for another update on his status.

Marcus Smart Injury Update

The Celtics were without Jayson Tatum for Saturday's meeting with Toronto, as the MVP candidate got the day off to deal with wrist soreness. Luckily, the C's recently got Jaylen Brown back from a three-game layoff, so the team at least had its No. 2 scoring option. Boston also had Marcus Smart, who is proficient on both ends of the floor.Unfortunately, the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year's evening didn't last long, as he exited in the first half after suffering a sprained right ankle. Smart has battled ankle injuries throughout his career, so fantasy managers are familiar with this.https://twitter.com/ChrisForsberg_/status/1616933981362028546?s=20&t=ADA6dM_t2muMcgq6cJRitwWhile X-ray results were encouraging, revealing no structural damage, he'll likely miss a game or two, possibly more. Sat Jan 21 202319:03Donovan Mitchell To Remain Out On Saturday
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (groin) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. This will be the third game in a row that Mitchell has missed due to a strained left groin. This isn't too shocking considering this type of injury is easy to re-injure. The Cavs want to make sure Mitchell is 100 percent healthy before they let him back on the court again. In the meantime, Caris LeVert should continue to start in his place. He has been playing well and should be a strong fantasy option until Mitchell returns. Cedi Osman is also worth looking at, but is more of a deep league option.

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (groin) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Golden State Warriors. The star guard will miss his second game in a row due to a strained left groin. His absence will mean that Caris LeVert will remain in the starting five for at least one more game. He played well on Wednesday, so fantasy managers should expect LeVert to continue having increased value while Mitchell is sidelined.

LaMelo Ball Injury Update

LaMelo Ball exited Monday's meeting with the Rockets with a sprained left ankle. This is an all too familiar ailment, as the 21-year-old injured it twice already this season. He missed the first 13 games of the 2022-23 campaign because of it before making his season debut on November 12 against Miami.https://twitter.com/HornetsOnBally/status/1615898994508546048?s=20&t=2ONmwk9cIuX1k5z8xOpxsQUnfortunately, the 2020 No. 3 overall pick was incapacitated again after stepping on a fan's foot during a matchup with Indiana just a few days later, keeping him sidelined for an additional 11 games. Now, it appears fantasy managers will be without Ball for a while, considering he needed help getting to the locker room. With ... [More]

Tue Jan 17 202307:09Donovan Mitchell Suffers A Groin Injury
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell couldn't complete Monday's matchup against New Orleans due to a groin strain. He was limited to only 22 minutes in the contest and had 11 points on 3-for-9 shooting. Darius Garland took the reins and carried the team to a 113-103 victory with 30 points and 11 assists. Donovan Mitchell Injury Update

Donovan Mitchell has been on a tear in his first season as a Cavalier, averaging a career-high 28.8 points per game. The 26-year-old has certainly made an impact, so there is naturally some concern surrounding his most recent injury, a groin strain, suffered during Monday's win over the Pelicans.https://twitter.com/ChrisFedor/status/1615106299636719632?s=20&t=nIB5An7gWfmmxjT49g7LLAMitchell exited in the third quarter and did not return to the contest, finishing with 11 points in 22 minutes. The former Louisville Cardinal has stayed relatively healthy in 2022-23, missing only five games. However, with the Cavs looking to make a deep run into the postseason, Mitchell may miss some games, beginning with Wednesday's meeting in Memphis.https://twitter.com/AmicoHoops/status/1615116579011690502?s=20&t=8uEcBgsFXrfQNXVsKuQmNAWithout him in the lineup, others will have to step up. He should continue to be a strong fantasy option, so fantasy managers should make sure Mitchell is back in their lineups for Saturday's slate.

Tue Jan 3 202307:39Donovan Mitchell Has A Historic 71-Point Night
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell looked like a man from another planet Monday versus Chicago, scoring 71 points in a 145-134 overtime victory. He became the sixth player in NBA history to score at least 71 points in a game and his performance also marks the first-ever game in the league with 70-plus points and 10-plus assists. It's the highest-scoring performance from a player since Kobe Bryant had 81 points versus Toronto in 2006. Mitchell got there with 22-for-34 shooting from the field and a 20-for-25 effort at the foul line. The Cleveland star netted seven triples with 15 attempts, and he wasn't far away from a triple-double either, finishing with eight rebounds, 11 assists and one block. Mitchell has been slumping lately, but he's one of the most talented scorers in the league and was always going to break out of it quickly. He was in an ideal situation for a big scoring night, with Darius Garland (thumb) and Evan Mobley (ankle) out of the lineup.

Sat Dec 17 202207:45Donovan Mitchell Has 41 Points With Eight Triples
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell crushed it against Indiana on Friday, leading all scorers with 41 points in a 118-112 win. He shot 14-for-24 from the field and did some incredible work from downtown with an 8-for-15 effort. The three-time All-Star also had three assists with one rebound, one steal and two turnovers in 37 minutes. It would've been nice to have Mitchell provide more in other areas as well, but he can make up for it quickly, with Cleveland facing another game Saturday versus Dallas. It's going to be the second meeting of the week for the two teams, and Mitchell relished the opportunity to outshine Luka Doncic on Wednesday, finishing with 34 points. He has upped his game this month and is averaging 33.8 points for December.

Mon Dec 12 202217:29Donovan Mitchell Picks Up Questionable Tag For Monday
Cleveland Cavaliers point/shooting guard Donovan Mitchell (leg) has been listed as questionable to play in Monday's game against the Spurs due to a sore right leg. Mitchell has missed each of Cleveland's two prior contests due to the ailment, which has allowed Caris LeVert to slide back into the starting five and lead the team in scoring in consecutive outings. Mitchell has starred during his first months with the Cavaliers, ranking seventh in the league at 29 PPG, all while shooting a career-best 49.6 percent overall. With San Antonio yielding a league-high 120.4 PPG this year, a return from Mitchell would give him sizable DFS value; fantasy managers will want to check back prior to tip-off to confirm his status.

Fri Dec 9 202214:58Donovan Mitchell Questionable On Friday
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (leg) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Sacramento Kings. The star guard is reportedly dealing with right leg soreness, so we could see him sit this one out. His absence would likely result in Caris LeVert moving into the starting five. LeVert has been effective off the bench this season, so a move to the starting five should only improve his fantasy value. Fantasy managers will need to check back closer to game time for another update on Mitchell's status.

Mitchell has missed one game due to an ankle sprain and his status remains in question for Wednesday's contest.
