Stephenson threw eight shutout innings for Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out 10.
Aside from one poor outing -- a six-run hiccup back on July 16 -- Stephenson has outstanding since being bumped up to Triple-A, posting a 0.72 ERA with a combined 13 hits allowed in his other four starts. The double-digit strikeout performance was Stephenson's fourth of the season but his first with Louisville. Stephenson, 22, certainly seems to be positioning himself for a major league callup in the near future, the Reds' immediate plans for him remain a mystery.

Stephenson got off to a nice start at Triple-A, giving up just two runs in his first two starts (11 innings), but was hit hard in his last start, giving up six earned runs on seven hits and two walks against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The rough outing aside, Stephenson still has the potential to be a frontline starter although he probably won't debut in the big leagues until next season.

Stephenson has been promoted to Triple-A Louisville, according to RedsMinorLeagues.com.
Stephenson has really righted the ship after a bumpy start to the season, posting a 2.36 ERA over his last 10 starts to lower his overall ERA to 3.68. Even during his hot streak his walk rate has been pretty high, but his K-rate has also gone through the roof. He might still get a September callup with the big club.
