Gordon (foot) will not be activated for Friday's game against the Wizards despite getting cleared to play, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Gordon was cleared by the medical staff to play Friday and expected to come off the bench, but the coaching staff decided that he wasn't quite ready since he hasn't even participated in a 5-on-5 scrimmage since suffering his original injury back on Nov. 15. Despite being inactive Friday, his comeback is around the corner, perhaps even Sunday against the Thunder.
Fri Jan 16 201511:05Aaron Gordon: (Foot) Available Against Memphis
Gordon (foot) will be available against the Grizzlies on Friday.
Just because Gordon is available to play doesn't mean that he'll see time on the court, and if does play it'll most likely be in limited fashion since he's been on the shelf since Nov. 15. On top of that, the rookie has only played more than 22 minutes once over the course of his 11 games this season. Those that have a vested interest in Gordon should be relieved that he's making his long-awaited comeback, but it's important to realize that he'll slowly be brought along moving forward.
Sat Jan 10 201508:44Aaron Gordon: (Foot) Able To Take Jumpers
Gordon (foot) is able to take jumpers and do some light running, although it's still unclear when he'll return to the court, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Gordon has been off the court since Nov. 15 and had surgery to put a screw in his left foot on Nov. 21. While there's no definite timetable for return, the fact that the rookie can do some light running probably means that he'll be on the court in short order. That being said, it may be a while before he takes on a full workload since the Magic will not want to risk further injury.
Tue Dec 23 201410:43Gordon (foot) has shed walking boot
Gordon (foot) has shed his walking boot, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Gordon underwent surgery just over a month ago to repair the fifth metatarsal on his right foot. While he's without a concrete return date, the fact that he's out of the walking boot is an indication that his recovery is moving in the right direction. The rookie will likely miss a couple more weeks before potentially re-entering the lineup in early/mid-January. Prior to the injury, Gordon was averaging 5.8 points, 3.0 assists and 0.5 blocks in 15.0 minutes per game.

Gordon (foot) will receive an x-ray on his left foot today to check for improvement or lack thereof post-surgery, Brian K. Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Gordon was diagnosed with a fractured left foot one month ago and underwent surgery five days later. He was expected to miss 6-8 weeks, so his return this month remains unlikely as we sit at the four-week mark since surgery. He was averaging 5.8 points, 3.0 assists, and 0.5 blocks in 15.0 minutes per game prior to the unfortunate diagnosis.

Gordon went through successful surgery on the fifth metatarsal in his left foot Friday, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Gordon will be re-evaluated in six-to-eight weeks, but he could be out much longer than that depending on how well his body responds to treatment. Considering his size, it's sometimes tough for big men to get over this type of injury, so the Magic probably won't rush him back into action even when the eight weeks are up.

Gordon has a fractured foot in his left foot and will be out indefinitely, NBA.com reports.
Gordon was spotted with a boot on his foot after the team's loss Saturday, and will now have a specialist look at the foot to help dinnertime a timeline for his recovery. We will know more about the duration later in the week, but expect Gordon to miss a significant amount of time. Foot fractures are a scary injury for big men, since they can linger, and have been known to cripple NBA careers.

Gordon was spotted with a walking boot on his left foot after Saturday's loss to the Wizards, Todd Dybas of the Washington Times reports.
Gordon played 14 minutes off the bench Saturday, finishing with six points and three rebounds, so it's not immediately apparent when this injury occurred. Consider Gordon questionable for Monday's game against the Pistons until the Magic release more information.

Gordon had a career night, scoring 17 points (6-9 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), grabbing six rebounds, blocking two shots, and recording one assist in 22 minutes off the bench.
The shooting is the biggest take away. If he can consistently knock down three-pointers and his free-throws, he'll be a fantasy asset faster than anticipated. He helped bottle up the Timberwolves' Thaddeus Young in overtime, forcing coach Vaughn to keep Channing Frye on the bench. Once Kyle O'Quinn (ankle) returns to the lineup, we'll have a better understanding of Gordon's role moving forward.
Wed Oct 15 201422:59Gordon replaced in starting lineup by Andrew Nicholson
Gordon was replaced in the starting lineup by Andrew Nicholson. He scored a preseason-high 15 points (7-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), grabbed nine rebounds, dished out three assists, and registered a block and a steal in 26 minutes against Brazil's Flamengo squad.
Gordon took advantage of his athleticism against an undersized international opponent, grabbing six offensive rebounds and scoring all of his buckets inside the restricted area. We'll see how he fairs in his next game, Friday against the Pistons.

Gordon chipped in nine points (2-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block in 23 minutes during Monday's preseason loss to the Hornets.
Gordon started his third consecutive preseason game and showed off his multicategory versatility. Most impressive were the two three-pointers he contributed. Seven missed shots aims to be the norm for this offensively underdeveloped 19-year-old, but the rest of his game looks polished.

Gordon struggled offensively in his first preseason start, scoring six points (2-6 FG, 2-6 FT) to go along with eight rebounds, one assist and one block in 28 minutes during Tuesday's overtime victory.
Gordon showed his defensive versatility as well and capable ball handling skills, but was unable to knock down shots or free-throws consistently. Coach Jacque Vaughn isn't married to his initial preseason starting lineup, so a move the to bench might suit the 19-year-old for Friday's tussle against the Indiana Pacers.

Gordon will start at small forward during the Magic's first preseason game, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Gordon is the surprise starter, but Coach Jacque Vaughn plans to use a different starting lineup against the Indiana Pacers on Friday. A strong debut could go along way in cementing his place in the regular season rotation.

Gordon recently admitted a greater comfort level at small forward, declaring "I've been practicing the three a lot and I've been running the offense through the three. So as of right now, that's where I'm more comfortable at."
Gordon played a majority of his minutes at small forward during the Orlando Pro Summer League, but when thrust into the power forward role due to injuries, he looked lost and overmatched. He's a gifted defender capable of guarding four positions, but will likely be stuck behind Tobias Harris and Maurice Harkless to start the season.
Sat Jul 5 201415:06Aaron Gordon scores seven points
Aaron Gordon scored seven points vs. the 76ers on Saturday with five boards, one assist, one block and four turnovers.
He looked a bit out of place and was careless while handling the ball. Gordon would probably work better as a power forward, but the Magic did give him some run at both forward spots today. He shot 1-of-2 from the line and missed both shots from deep. Owners in standard leagues can probably pass on him while he likely has some growing pains.

Wed Jul 2 201413:50Magic officially sign No. 4 pick Aaron Gordon
The Magic officially signed overall No. 4 pick Aaron Gordon on Wednesday.
Gordon averaged 12.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocks in his freshman season with the Arizona Wildcats, earning himself Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors. He's a phenomenal athlete and a terrific defender, and shouldn't have trouble carving out minutes despite the presence of Moe Harkless, Tobias Harris and Andrew Nicholson at the SF and PF spots.

Sat Jun 28 201400:27Aaron Gordon wants to win DPOY
Aaron Gordon said he wants to win Defensive Player of the Year at some point in his pro career.
The Arizona Wildcats had some of the best defense in the country last year and it had a lot to do with Gordon's motor and help defense. The Magic obviously love him based on their selection at four, but it's still unclear if they will play him at the three or four. The rookie is also going to wear jersey number double-zero because it "represents how wide I want the fans' eyes to be when they see all of us playing." He can fill the stat sheet and we'll be watching him closely at Orlando Summer League next month.
