Athletics send RHP Evan Scribner outright to Triple-A Sacramento.
The A's claimed Scribner off waivers from San Diego last month, but they have now removed him from the 40-man roster. The 26-year-old right-hander made a handful of appearances with the Padres this season, but spent most of the year with Triple-A Tucson, posting a 4.71 ERA, 10 saves and a 27/12 K/BB ratio over 28 2/3 innings.

Scribner, 26, made a handful of appearances with the Padres this season, posting a 7.07 ERA and 10/4 K/BB ratio over 11 innings. He has a 2.83 ERA over parts of five seasons in the minor leagues, averaging 10.9 K/9 and 2.4 BB/9. He'll get a shot at making the A's bullpen during spring training.

He carries the reputation as an extreme fly ball pitcher, but that's obviously less of an issue in PETCO Park. He has a legitimate chance to stick around.
