Banuelos is no longer scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Rockies, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Alex Wood's Thursday outing was cut short by a rain delay, so he'll replace Banuelos as the starter for Sunday's game. Banuelos will be available out of the bullpen this weekend, and there's no guarantee he'll still have a rotation spot when the Braves come back from the All-Star break, as Williams Perez (foot) may be ready to return.

Banuelos went 5.1 innings against the Brewers on Tuesday, giving up one run on five hits and three walks while striking out one en route to his first career win.
Cramping and dehydration cut Banuelos' major league debut short, but his start Tuesday never seemed to be in any real jeopardy. After allowing a solo homer to Jonathan Lucroy in the first, Banuelos held Milwaukee scoreless, though the one strikeout was a far cry from the seven he recorded his last time out. Regardless, it appears the lefty is in line to continue in the rotation at least until Williams Perez (foot) returns from the DL, and his success to this point makes him an obvious target in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues.
Mon Jul 6 201523:06Manny Banuelos: Set To Start Tuesday
Banuelos (illness) is lined up to start Tuesday against the Brewers.
Banuelos left his last start with cramping and dehydration, but he is listed as the Braves' starter for Tuesday's game, so he is presumably good to go. Despite the early exit, Banuelos was brilliant in his MLB debut, striking out seven batters and allowing just three baserunners over 5.2 scoreless innings.

Banuelos left Thursday's game in the sixth inning due to cramping and dehydration.
All things considered, this is good news, though these issues did abbreviate what was shaping up to be an outstanding major league debut. Banuelos tossed 5.2 scoreless innings against Washington prior to exiting, allowing just two hits while striking out seven and not walking a single batter. Consider him questionable to make his next start until the Braves provide another update.
Thu Jul 2 201520:49Manny Banuelos: Debut Cut Short
Banuelos left Thursday's game against the Nationals in the sixth inning with an apparent injury, Kevin McAlpin of 680 The Fan reports.
Everything seemed to be going so smoothly for Banuelos -- he had given up just two hits with seven strikeouts and no walks -- but he hit back-to-back batters with pitches in the sixth and was lifted shortly thereafter. It wasn't obvious what was ailing Banuelos. He should be considered day-to-day until more information becomes available.
Thu Jul 2 201500:12Banuelos recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett
Banuelos has been recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Banuelos was called up to take the starting spot for Williams Perez who went to the DL with a foot contusion. The 24-year-old lefty will pitch Thursday. Banuelos has posted a 2.29 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in 82.2 innings in Triple-A.

Banuelos will likely make his major league debut on Thursday against the Nationals, MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports.
He is expected to be called up to take the rotation spot of Williams Perez, who was placed on the 15-day DL with a foot contusion on Saturday. Banuelos has completely dominated Triple-A through 15 start, posting a 2.29 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 69 strikeouts in 82.2 innings. The 24-year-old lefty won't miss bats at an above average rate, but he has the potential to prevent runs at the rate of a mid-rotation starter. Run support could be an issue, but the floor is seemingly high enough that he is worth an add in most mid-sized leagues.

Banuelos has given up one run or less in six straight starts with Triple-A Gwinnett.
His ERA now sits at 2.39 with a 1.25 WHIP and 46 strikeouts in 52.2 innings, and while he has been giving up hits and walking batters at slightly less than ideal rates, he has been excellent at not giving up hard hit balls, and thus preventing runs. Banuelos is probably not as good as his 2.39 ERA suggests, and his actual talent may be closer to his 3.56 FIP, but he still has a chance to make it as a mid-rotation starter and could be called up to join the Braves' rotation sometime this summer.

Banuelos gave up one earned run on four hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in five innings Wednesday for Triple-A Gwinnett.
He now has a 2.08 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 10 strikeouts in 8.2 innings through two starts with Gwinnett. Should the Braves look to shake up the rotation in the coming weeks, Banuelos appears to be a strong candidate to get the call.
Fri Mar 27 201510:41Banuelos optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday
Banuelos was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday, MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports.
Never considered a top candidate to claim one of the Braves' vacant rotation spots, Banuelos probably needed to dominate throughout spring training to have a legitimate shot at snagging a starting gig with the big club. Unsurprisingly, he failed to do so, posting a 9.45 ERA while allowing opposing hitters to bat .387 against him over 6.2 innings. Elbow issues have dimmed the star of the former Yankees top prospect, who will now have to impress at Triple-A before an opportunity with the Braves comes about.

Banuelos was clobbered for five earned runs on three hits and two walks in just two-thirds of an innings against the Mets on Friday in his second appearance of the spring.
Banuelos entered Grapefruit League play as a distant fourth in the competition for a spot in the Braves' rotation, behind Eric Stults, Wandy Rodriguez and Mike Foltynewicz, and he's only fallen further behind with two poor performances. The 24-year-old Banuelos gave up two runs (one earned) on two hits in one inning in his spring debut. With Foltynewicz also struggling early on -- he, too, failed to make it out of the first inning in his last start -- it appears Rodriguez and Stults are the leading candidates to round out Atlanta's starting corps.

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez mentioned Banuelos as a candidate for the final rotation spot, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Veterans Eric Stults and Wandy Rodriguez (knee) will be in the mix to round out Atlanta's corps of starters, along with Banuelos and fellow trade acquisition Mike Foltynewicz. Banuelos returned from Tommy John surgery last year to post a 4.13 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 71:31 K:BB in 26 appearances (25 starts) between the Yankees' High-A, Double-A and Triple-A affiliates. He seems like the long shot of the group to earn the job, but Banuelos was once a top prospect and at least deserves monitoring during spring training.

Banuelos was traded to the Braves on Thursday for David Carpenter and Chasen Shreve, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.
Tommy John surgery in October of 2012 derailed the former top prospect's career, but it would seem the Braves think Banuelos can still develop into a quality middle-of-the-rotation piece. The 23-year-old lefty got off to a strong start with the Yankees' High-A Tampa affiliate last season, posting a 2.84 ERA and 9.9 K/9, but the results at Double-A Trenton, where he spent most of the year, were not nearly as good (4.59 ERA, 44:19 K:BB). He may very well compete for a rotation spot in spring training, but the Braves will likely want to see better results in the upper levels of the minors before promoting Banuelos to the big club.

Banuelos, 23, is 1-0 with a 1.13 ERA in two starts at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Banuelos struggled a little bit at the Double-A level, going 1-3 with a 4.59 ERA in 17 appearances this year, but he's off to a good start in Triple-A. In eight innings of work, he's allowed just three hits and has struck out seven.
Mon Aug 11 201414:29Banuelos promoted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday
Banuelos was promoted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday, Josh Norris of Baseball America reports.
Banuelos' struggles during spring training this year spurred a start at High-A Tampa, but the 23-year-old has since marched through the minors, posting a 4.23 ERA, 1.151 WHIP, and 58:21 K:BB in 61.2 innings between Tampa and Double-A Trenton. A DL stint as a result of blisters has kept his innings count in check, but he managed at least three frames in each of his final five appearances at Trenton as he rebuilds stamina in his left arm.
Mon Jun 23 201416:59Banuelos placed on DL in Double-A
Yankees prospect left-hander Manny Banuelos has been placed on the disabled list with Double-A Trenton due to blisters.
It probably won't keep him out of action for long. Banuelos, who missed all of last season following Tommy John surgery, has a 3.31 ERA and 35/11 K/BB ratio in 35 1/3 innings over 13 starts and one relief appearance this year between High-A Tampa and Double-A Trenton.

Wed Apr 30 201401:38Banuelos promoted to Double-A
Yankees prospect LHP Manny Banuelos has been promoted to Double-A Trenton.
The 23-year-old actually was promoted in time to start for Trenton on Tuesday. Banuelos pitched well in his season debut at the more advanced level, allowing two hits and striking out four in three scoreless frames. Still working his way back from Tommy John surgery in 2012, Banuelos posted a 2.84 ERA and 14/2 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 15 2/3 innings at High-A Tampa before the recent promotion.

Sun Apr 20 201411:06Yankees LHP prospect Banuelos shelled
Yankees prospect left-handed pitcher Manny Banuelos allowed four runs on five hits, failing to complete one inning on Saturday.
Banuelos only got two batters out, one by strikeout, in his first bad start in his return from Tommy John surgery. Two years ago, Banuelos was a 21-year old in Triple-A and now he's a 23-year old in High-A, so the Yankees cannot be as patient with his command woes as they were in the past. Banuelos has done well in his return, with a 11.2 K/9 and 1.034 WHIP in 9 2/3 innings over four starts.

Wed Apr 9 201413:15Banuelos solid in second start
Yankees prospect LHP Manny Banuelos was impressive in his second start of the season on Tuesday, as he scattered four hits and struck out two batters in three scoreless innings for High-A Tampa.
Banuelos logged only 24 innings over the last two years due to Tommy John surgery, and it will likely take some time for the 23-year-old to return to his pre-2012 form. That being said, he's off to a promising start this season at High-A Tampa, as the left-hander is yet to allow a run through six innings and owns a 5/1 strikeout-to-walk ratio during that span.

Sun Mar 16 201411:59Manny Banuelos optioned to Triple-A
Yankees optioned LHP Manny Banuelos to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Banuelos needs to make up for lost time after missing most of the last two seasons following Tommy John surgery. The 23-year-old could be an option for the Yankees' rotation at some point this season.
