Sat Jul 16 201115:12Guillermo Moscoso will start Tuesday
A's interim manager Bob Melvin has confirmed that Guillermo Moscoso will start Tuesday.
Tyson Ross was the only other real candidate, and he was ruled out when he came out of his last rehab start with a sore shoulder, so Moscoso was an obvious choice. With a 2.16 ERA and 1.04 WHIP over 50 innings, he's earned the right to stay in the rotation, though we're not expecting the results to last.

Fri Jul 15 201110:25Guillermo Moscoso likely to start Tuesday
A's interim manager Bob Melvin acknowledged that Tyson Ross' shoulder issues makes it even more likely that Guillermo Moscoso will be recalled to start Tuesday.
Moscoso was demoted earlier this month because the A's didn't need a fifth starter. With a 2.16 ERA and 1.04 WHIP through his first 50 innings of work this season, he was the favorite to get the nod on Tuesday all along, but Ross' injury seals the deal.

Fri Jul 8 201111:12Moscoso not guaranteed of rejoining A's
Guillermo Moscoso is not guaranteed of returning to the A's rotation following the All-Star break, but is the "front-runner" to start on July 19 against the Tigers.
It's been widely assumed Moscoso will remain in rotation, and after posting a 2.16 ERA and 1.04 WHIP through his first 50 innings of work this season, he almost assuredly will.

Thu Jul 7 201117:16A's option Moscoso to Triple-A
Athletics optioned RHP Guillermo Moscoso to Triple-A Sacramento.
It's just a temporary move. Moscoso will make a start in Sacramento over the All-Star break before returning to the Oakland starting rotation on July 19.

Wed Jul 6 201118:20Guillermo Moscoso goes seven scoreless
Guillermo Moscoso excelled again Wednesday, pitching seven innings of two-hit ball in Oakland's 2-0 win over Seattle.
Moscoso has given up just one earned run in his last four starts, so there's no way he's coming out of the rotation after the All-Star break. The A's might just go ahead and stick Tyson Ross back in the bullpen. Moscoso isn't really this good, of course, but he should have some lasting value in AL-only leagues.

Thu Jun 30 201100:57Moscoso falls to 2-4
Guillermo Moscoso allowed three runs (one earned) on four hits in six innings of work on Wednesday, falling to 2-4 in Oakland's 3-0 loss to the Marlins.
He struck out eight, but was hurt by the long-ball, serving up a two-run shot to Hanley Ramirez in the first and solo homer to Logan Morrison in the fourth. Moscoso's ERA and WHIP remain solid at 2.51 and 1.14, respectively, through 43 innings of work, but his 22/17 K/BB ratio is a rather glaring red flag, especially since 37.3 percent of those strikeouts came in one start.

Sun Jun 12 201118:35Moscoso takes loss against White Sox
Guillermo Moscoso yielded five runs -- four earned -- over 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the White Sox Sunday.
Moscoso struck out two and walked four while giving up six hits. His 3.91 ERA on the season is respectable, but he has only recorded 11 strikeouts in 25 1/3 innings while walking 11. Only owners in deep AL-only formats should be monitoring Moscoso.

Sat Jun 4 201111:23Guillermo Moscoso still in line to start Tues
A's manager Bob Geren said Guillermo Moscoso is still in line to start Tuesday despite pitching 2 1/3 innings in relief Friday.
It's not surprising that Moscoso pitched in what would have been a day for a side session, anyway, but it's a little surprising he was allowed to throw 40 pitches. But, evidently Geren thinks the right-hander will be good to go after three days of rest. He'll face the Orioles Tuesday.

Wed Jun 1 201112:55A's to skip Moscoso in starting rotation
The Athletics will use Thursday's scheduled off-day to skip Guillermo Moscoso in the starting rotation.
That means that Josh Outman, Trevor Cahill and Brett Anderson will pitch this weekend against the Red Sox. Moscoso should make his next start against the Orioles next week.

Sun May 29 201119:25Moscoso moves to 2-0 despite shaky effort
Guillermo Moscoso allowed four runs on five hits and two walks in five innings on Sunday, but still got the win in Oakland's 6-4 victory over the Orioles.
He tallied just one strikeout. Moscoso was coming off an outing that saw him limit the Angels to just three hits in six scoreless innings of work, but his outings should usually resemble the one he turned in today.

Wed May 25 201102:06Guillermo Moscoso wins in A's debut
Guillermo Moscoso pitched six scoreless innings Tuesday in his return to the majors as the A's beat the Angels 6-1 to snap a six-game losing streak.
Moscoso, who made 10 appearances for the Rangers in 2009 and one last year, got the win, his first in the majors. His stuff is nothing special, but since he throws strikes and has a strong pen behind him, he has a chance to be an asset in AL-only leagues.

Tue May 24 201114:11Athletics recall Moscoso from Triple-A
Athletics recalled RHP Guillermo Moscoso from Triple-A Sacramento.
Moscoso will start Tuesday's game against the Angels, taking the place of the injured Tyson Ross in the starting rotation. Moscoso, who was acquired from the Rangers in January, has a 4.02 ERA and 43/13 K/BB ratio over 40 1/3 innings with Triple-A Sacramento this season. We wouldn't trust him in AL-only leagues.

He'll take the place of the injured Tyson Ross in the starting rotation. Moscoso, who was acquired from the Rangers in January, has a 4.02 ERA and 43/13 K/BB ratio over 40 1/3 innings with Triple-A Sacramento this season. It's tough to trust him in fantasy leagues.

Sat Jan 8 201113:59Athletics acquire Guillermo Moscoso
Athletics acquired RHP Guillermo Moscoso from the Rangers for RHP Ryan Kelly.
Moscoso has pitched just briefly at the major league level, posting a 4.30 ERA over only 11 appearances. The 27-year-old right-hander has a chance to stick in middle relief with the Athletics. To make room for Moscoso on the 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher Philip Humber was designated for assignment.
Fri Jan 7 201113:42Rangers DFA righty Guillermo Moscoso
Rangers designated RHP Guillermo Moscoso for assignment.
Moscoso was used only once by the big league Rangers this season and allowed two runs while lasting less than an inning. He's only 27 years old and has enjoyed some success in the minors. There should be offers.
Fri Nov 12 201009:51Rangers activate Moscoso from 60-day DL
Rangers activated Guillermo Moscoso from the 60-day disabled list.
Moscoso made just one appearance for the Rangers this year, allowing two runs in a relief appearance that lasted less than one inning. The 26-year-old right-hander is likely to being the 2011 season at Triple-A.
Wed Sep 29 201013:03Rangers add Moscoso; place him on DL
Rangers recalled RHP Guillermo Moscoso from Triple-A Oklahoma City; placed him on the 60-day disabled list with a blister on his right index finger.
It's a paper move, designed to create space on the 40-man roster for Mark Lowe. Moscoso allowed two runs over two-thirds of an inning in his lone appearance with the Rangers back on May 20. The 26-year-old right-hander posted a 5.18 ERA over 23 appearances (22 starts) with Triple-A Oklahoma City this season.
Sat May 29 201014:23Moscoso sent back to Triple-A
Rangers optioned RHP Guillermo Moscoso to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Moscoso appeared in just one game during his two weeks in the majors and allowed two runs on two hits and two walks in just 2/3 of an inning. With Matt Harrison moving into the Rangers' bullpen, Moscoso was the most expendable piece, so he heads back to Triple-A.
Fri May 28 201020:38Moscoso to be send to Triple-A
With Matt Harrison expected to be activated from the disabled list on Saturday, right-hander Guillermo Moscoso to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Moscoso was called up from Triple-A on May 15, but only has one appearance. We just haven't had the opportunity to pitch him," said Rangers manager Ron Washington. "We've been in some close ballgames and didn't have the opportunity." He'll return to a 2.95 ERA and 1.39 ERA over seven starts at the Triple-A level.

Rangers recalled RHP Guillermo Moscoso from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Another right-hander recalled to help prop up an overused bullpen. Moscoso was a starter for Oklahoma City and posted a 2.95 ERA and 1.39 ERA in his seven starts. Despite his starter's pedigree, he'll pitch out of the bullpen for the Rangers.
