Rasmus has developed a cyst in his inner ear that is growing behind the eardrum. He recently told reporters the official diagnosis is cholesteatoma, a growth of skin cells that causes damage inside the inner ear. Rasmus attempted to play through the issue but struggled mightily and is just 3-for-66 since July 2.

Rasmus victimized Royals reliever Ryan Madson for the second time in the ALDS with solo shot to right field in the seventh inning. The 355-foot blast was his fourth home run of the 2015 playoffs. The Royals have not announced who will start Wednesday's winner-take-all Game 5, but it's safe to assume the red-hot Rasmus will be in the starting lineup.
