Rasmus homered in his second straight postseason game Thursday during Houston's Game 1 ALDS win over Kansas City. He went 1-for-3 with a walk, stolen base and two RBI in the game.

The 29-year-old outfielder gave the Astros a 1-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI groundout before homering late in the game off Royals reliever Ryan Madson. He's likely to remain in the starting lineup Friday against right-hander Johnny Cueto, who he's 9-for-27 (.333) lifetime against.

Rasmus has put together a pretty nice season for Houston, as he has 23 homers and 59 RBI this season. He fits in perfectly with the Astros, as he proves a lot of power and a high strikeout rate. There's not a whole lot of average upside with Rasmus, but he's a candidate for 30 homers next season, if he can obtain an everyday role. His numbers against southpaws this year bode well for that request, as he's hitting lefties better than righties this season.

Rasmus is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners.

The 29-year-old will sit in favor of Marwin Gonzalez in left field for a second straight day, with another lefty in Vidal Nuno due up for Seattle. Rasmus got a start against a lefty Sunday, and has an .826 OPS against left-handed pitching for the season, but manager A.J. Hinch seems intent on keeping Gonzalez involved with semi-regular starts.

Rasmus is back in the lineup on Wednesday, batting fifth and playing center field.

After a day off on Tuesday, Rasmus returns to the lineup in center field. He's having a strong September, hitting .291 with four home runs and seven RBI. He replaces Jake Marisnick in the starting lineup.

Rasmus is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Angels.

Rasmus started the last five times the Astros faced a southpaw, and is batting .259/.380/.444 against left-handed pitching for the season, numbers well above his career marks (.219/.300/.372). However, with Rasmus coming off an 0-for-3 game in his ninth consecutive start, manager A.J. Hinch has opted to sit Rasmus and slot Marwin Gonzalez in as his left fielder against Hector Santiago.

Rasmus had been experiencing a bit of a power outage, having not hit a homer since Aug. 16 and batting just .154 wit a double and a triple during that span. Rasmus has always been able to bring some power to the table. Where he struggles is consistently making contact and getting on base. Owners starving for homers may be tempted to pickup Rasmus, but are likely better off looking elsewhere for power.

Rasmus is out of the lineup on Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

With Carlos Correa returning to the lineup, the Astros shuffle around their whole lineup, moving Marwin Gonzalez to left field and Jake Marsnick to right, leaving Rasmus the odd-man out. He's hitting .227 with 17 home runs and 46 RBI on the year.

Following the demotion of Preston Tucker on Saturday, Colby Rasmus appears the likely candidate to receive most of the starts in left field moving forward. However, he'll receive a day off Sunday with ace southpaw Clayton Kershaw starting for the Dodgers, with Marwin Gonzalez replacing him in left and batting sixth for the Astros.

Rasmus got back in the lineup Wednesday and went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk against the Giants.

He also homered Sunday, so with an off day Monday and a day on the bench Tuesday in between, Rasmus has himself a little streak going. While the Astros have limited his exposure against lefties this year, his numbers against them are not too dissimilar to his numbers against righties. Unfortunately, he's not hitting either of them terribly well, and as a result, his value is limited to deeper and AL-only formats.

Jake Marisnick will get a start in right field Tuesday with Rasmus getting the night off with lefty Madison Bumgarner on the hill for the Giants. Rasmus is having a pretty typical season, hitting below .250 (.238) while being on pace for around 20 home runs.

Rasmus has made eight straight starts in right field, but will rest Sunday in favor of Jake Marisnick. The arrival of Carlos Gomez, who will be the everyday center fielder, risks a reduction in playing time for both Rasmus and Marisnick.

The Astros will use a right-heavy lineup against Red Sox lefty Brian Johnson, leaving Rasmus and Preston Tucker on the bench. Rasmus started the previous 10 games, even making a few starts against lefties. He has a .230/.356/.410 slash line versus southpaws this year, compared to .236/.286/.483 against right-handers.

Rasmus is out of the lineup Sunday against the Red Sox.

With George Springer (wrist) landing on the DL a few days earlier, Rasmus is likely ticketed for regular at-bats in the outfield, but he'll get a day off Sunday. Prior to going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in Saturday's game, Rasmus had missed the Astros' previous six games with a skin infection, so it's possible the team just doesn't want to overextend him to quickly after a lengthy absence.
