Fri Apr 12 201320:23Lance Thomas played through a sprained MCL
Monty Williams revealed before Friday's game that Lance Thomas had a sprained MCL earlier this season and played through it.
He played just 10.9 minutes per game this year and hasn't been in any game action since March. If Thomas is healthy, he might actually play with the Hornets running out of bodies. That said, there's no reason to pay attention to this news item.

Tue Oct 23 201203:21Thomas draws the start against the Mavs
Lance Thomas started at small forward instead of Al-Farouq Aminu on Monday, but missed all three of his shot attempts to finish with zero points, four rebounds, and one assist in 14 minutes.
Thomas entered the game with at least one beat writer predicting he would be the starter, but Aminu won tonight's positional skirmish with 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting, eight boards, one steal, and two blocks. To complicate matters, Monty Williams singled out second round pick Darius Miller (six points, one block, 15 minutes) for his solid play. Thomas is worth keeping an eye on, but not close to being draftworthy in standard format.

Sat Oct 20 201213:03Lance Thomas joins Hornets' first unit
Lance Thomas practiced with the Hornets first unit on Saturday, playing SF in place of Al-Farouq Aminu.
We won't read too much into this until Monty Williams weighs in, but it's safe to say Aminu hasn't done anything to put a stranglehold on the starting job.

Sat Oct 13 201203:48Thomas plays 26 minutes on Friday
Lance Thomas played 26 minutes in Friday's exhibition game against the Rockets, scoring five points on 2-of-7 shooting with eight rebounds and one block.
Anthony Davis (groin, rest) was out tonight and that opened up a few minutes, but regardless Thomas is going to get a real hard look out of Monty Williams this season. The surprise USA Select Team member will back up both forward positions and is worth keeping tabs on to see if he can gain any traction during the preseason.

Wed Jul 18 201206:37Lance Thomas improving in summer league
Lance Thomas was praised for his play in summer league.
"He's playing with confidence and leading us," said Hornets summer league coach James Borrego. "You can see the growth he's made in his skill set." Thomas had 22 points on 6-of-11 shooting against the Bucks on Monday, and Thomas credits Monty Williams for giving him a chance to play "significant minutes" during last season. Thomas was a part of USA Select Team before joining the summer league team and has the right attitude about improving his game.

Fri May 25 201209:33Lance Thomas named to USA Select Team
Lance Thomas has been named to the USA Select Team.
Not too shabby for a D-League product. Thomas averaged just 4.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 42 games with the Hornets, but the 24-year-old will get a big chance to make a serious impression.

Tue Apr 17 201201:18Lance Thomas starts with zero points
Lance Thomas started Monday's game against the Bobcats, missing all three of his field goal attempts for zero points with two rebounds and three assists in 13 minutes.
Thomas hasn't done anything with the minutes he has received, so continue to ignore him for fantasy purposes.

Sat Mar 31 201218:03Lance Thomas very quiet in start for NOH
Making a fill-in start at PF on Saturday, Lance Thomas had six points and seven rebounds in 33 minutes of action.
Carl Landry's ankle injury came out of the blue, so there was no time to rush Thomas into fantasy lineups, which was probably for the best. Landry is day-to-day and might not be ready to play on Sunday, but after that the Hornets have off until Wednesday's home game. In other words, Thomas' starting job is likely to be short-lived.

Sat Mar 24 201223:25Lance Thomas plays well in start for Hornets
Lance Thomas made his first career start for the short-handed Hornets on Saturday, finishing with eight points, four rebounds, one steal and two blocks in 19 minutes.
All things considered this was a fine showing from the rookie forward, who is averaging a reasonable 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 13 minutes per game. He'll go back to the bench once Chris Kaman and/or Jason Smith return, so he's a long way from having fantasy value.

Sat Mar 10 201203:28Thomas scores 18 points in 30 minutes
Recently signed forward Lance Thomas scored 18 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 3-of-6 shots from the field (12-of-14 from the foul line) with five rebounds and one steal in 30 minutes.
Gustavo Ayon (foot) was benched, along with most of the first unit, and while we're impressed with the free throws this is about as fluky as it gets. Carl Landry's (knee) return next week won't help things, either. We need to see it again.

Mon Feb 27 201220:24Hornets signs F Lance Thomas for the year
The Hornets signed forward Lance Thomas for the rest of the season on Monday.
The team had already extended their second 10-day contract to Thomas, forcing them to either sign him for the year or let him go. Emeka Okafor and Jason Smith are reportedly returning sooner rather than later, so this is likely a byproduct of Chris Kaman's expected departure. We'll also watch to see if this is an indication that the Hornets' banged up frontcourt has suffered a setback.

Thu Feb 16 201208:46Hornets to sign Lance Thomas to another deal
The Hornets will reportedly sign F Lance Thomas to a second 10-day contract.
With Emeka Okafor (knee), Jason Smith (concussion) and Carl Landry (knee) all out, Thomas will provide depth for a very injured Hornets team.

Mon Feb 6 201212:24Hornets sign Lance Thomas
Hornets signed PF Lance Thomas.
It's a desperation move. Carl Landry (knee) and Jason Smith (concussion) are both out while Chris Kaman is just back from the trading block. Thomas will be the fourth big Monday behind Emeka Okafor, Gustavo Ayon and Kaman.
