Wed Jul 24 201322:28Gordon Beckham takes flips Wednesday
Gordon Beckham took flips prior to Wednesday's game and said his injured left wrist "felt better than it did."
"It was more dull soreness than it was pain, so I think that was a good thing. It got a little better toward the end of the session," Beckham said. "That's a positive thing. It's all how it reacts tomorrow from doing a little swinging, even though it wasn't much." The discomfort Beckham is dealing with is in the same wrist he had surgically-repaired earlier this season. The White Sox will have to place him on the DL if he doesn't see notable improvement in a hurry.

Wed Jul 10 201323:31Beckham blasts second home run against Tigers
Gordon Beckham hit a homer and drove in two runs in a loss to the Tigers on Wednesday.
Beckham has hit safely in his last six games, boasting an impressive .340 average to go with his two homers. In his career, the second baseman has been good for more power than he's shown this year, so there's a good chance he finds the seats more often in the season's second half.

Gordon Beckham made his major league debut at shortstop Friday in the loss to the Rays.
Beckham took over at shortstop after Alexei Ramirez exited for his first appearance at a position other than second base since 2009. This gives him some extra value in leagues in which he now qualifies at short.

Gordon Beckham went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in a loss to the White Sox on Friday.

The 26-year-old has yet to hit a home run this season, but he's batting .323 (32-for-99) with seven RBI and three stolen bases through 29 games. He's worth a look as a middle infielder option if he's still available in fantasy leagues.

Sat Jun 15 201300:11Beckham singles out of leadoff spot Friday
Gordon Beckham went 1-for-4 with a single and two strikeouts Friday in his first start of the season out of the leadoff spot.
Beckham is now hitting .305 (11-for-36) with two doubles, one RBI and five runs scored in 10 games since coming off the disabled list. We don't expect the batting average to last, but he should do enough in counting stats to be a decent middle infielder option in deeper mixed leagues. Look for him to slide back down near the bottom of the order when Alejandro De Aza (illness) is ready to return to action.
