Beckham hit a game-winning solo home run Sunday against the Rangers.

The home run was Beckham's fourth of the season, and it looks like he is on track for another single-digit home run year despite being in the prime power years of his career. For a time in May and June it looked like Beckham might be edging out Conor Gillaspie for the White Sox's starting third base gig, but Gillaspie has seen more time over the past 10 games as Beckham's bat continues to slip.

Beckham went 0-for-3 as the White Sox's starting second baseman Thursday.

This was Beckham's first start (and fourth) of the season at second base, and it is a bit surprising the White Sox did not throw him there sooner with Carlos Sanchez and Micah Johnson struggling at the position. Beckham has been in a bit of an offensive spiral himself of late, and he has a .501 OPS over his last 81 plate appearances.

Beckham is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

Beckham has been getting most of the playing time at third base, along with occasional starts at shortstop and second base. He was in the lineup for 20 of the past 21 games, but the at-bats may start to dry up a bit, as he has just one hit in his last nine contests (27 at-bats). If Beckham loses some at-bats, it will mostly benefit Conor Gillaspie, and perhaps Emilio Bonifacio. Gillaspie is starting at third base Tuesday night.

Manager Robin Ventura said he will continue to mix and match Beckham and Conor Gillapsie at third base, the Chicago Tribune reports

Ventura has actually done very little in terms of mixing and matching lately - the team's third base role has belonged to Beckham. Gilaspie has only made three starts in June, and Beckham offers more apparent upside at both the plate and in the field.

Beckham is out of the lineup Sunday against the Tigers, Doug Padilla of ESPN Chicago reports.

Beckham's string of seven straight starts will come to an end, as manager Robin Ventura turns third base back over to Conor Gillaspie. The White Sox faced a number of right-handers during that stretch of starts, so it's possible Beckham may no longer be stuck in a hard timeshare with Gillaspie at third base. Beckham doesn't offer much in the counting categories, but he's delivered a respectable .263/.321/.394 line across 112 plate appearances.

Beckham is in the lineup Monday against Toronto.

Beckham will make his first start since Thursday, taking over for Conor Gillaspie at third base. Beckham will bat second against Jays' starter Drew Hutchison.

Beckham is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Milwaukee, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Conor Gillaspie is starting at third base for a second straight game, after Beckham handled four of the previous five contests. Beckham is having the better season, but Gillaspie has six hits in his last four games, with a home run, a triple and a double. The two may continue to split playing time.

Beckham will start at third base Sunday against the Reds for the fourth time in five games.

It's probably too early to say that Beckham has completely usurped Conor Gillaspie of the starting gig at the hot corner, but he certainly appears to be in the driver's seat right now. His 2-for-3 performance in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader boosted his season average to .290, a mark that's higher than Gillaspie's on-base percentage (.286).

Beckham will make his fifth start of the year at third base Sunday against the Twins.

Beckham will get a relatively rare start in favor of Conor Gillaspie, who is getting a regular day off. Manager Robin Ventura has managed to find Beckham 20 at-bats this season, and the 28-year-old has returned the favor with seven hits, a double and a home run.

Beckham is not in the lineup Sunday against the Twins, Dan Hayes of CSN Washington reports.

Beckham typically draws the start when a southpaw is on the mound for the opponent, so he'll sit with right-hander Phil Hughes scheduled to start Sunday for the Twins. Conor Gillaspie will resume his regular role at the hot corner.

Beckham will get the start at third base Wednesday, the Chicago Sun-Times' Daryl Van Schouwen reports.

Conor Gillaspie will sit with a lefty (Danny Duffy) on the mound -- a trend that could become a straight platoon if Beckham performs well. Beckham's career splits are almost identically mediocre, but Gillaspie is just so bad against lefties that it is still a noticeable upgrade on paper.

Beckham went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run in the White Sox's win over the Reds on Thursday.

The extra-base hits were the first of the spring for Beckham, who started at third base. Beckham may only be hitting .154 through 26 Cactus League at-bats, but he appears to b a pretty good bet to make the 25-man roster as a backup infielder.

Beckham signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the White Sox on Wednesday.

While on some level this makes sense because the White Sox were the team that drafted and developed Beckham, it is also interesting because they have gotten to see firsthand how mediocre he has become. He certainly won't be an everyday player if Chicago can stay healthy, as Emilio Bonifacio and Micah Johnson, among others, should also vie for at-bats at second base. But he offers the ability to play third base and shortstop as well, should a need arise, which seems to be the primary reason the White Sox signed him. He has not posted an OPS above .700 since 2009, and should only be considered in very deep AL-only leagues.

The Angels declined to tender Beckham a contract.

The White Sox basically gave the former first-round pick (8th overall in 2008) away at the deadline, and the change of scenery did help Beckham get on track to a certain extent. He hit .268/.328/.429 in 26 games with Anaheim after slashing just .221/.263/.336 in 101 games with Chicago, but it wasn't nearly enough to want to make the Angels pick up his $4-plus million price tag for 2015.

Beckham went 1-for-3 with a home run in a loss to the A's on Tuesday.

Beckham received the start at third base Tuesday, as David Freese was given the night off due to mid-back tightness. Freese will remain the team's everyday man at the hot corner when healthy, but the Angels will likely look to get Beckham's bat in the lineup whenever possible, as he has notched a .798 OPS in 23 games since being acquired by from the White Sox.

Beckham will get the start Monday against the Athletics, the Orange County Register reports.

With Howie Kendrick (hamstring) out of the lineup, Beckham will make his first start since Thursday's loss to the Mariners. Beckham has six hits and two RBI in 21 September at-bats.

Beckham is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Astros, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

With five starts in the last six games entering Wednesday, Beckham has seemed to make a push for claiming the starting third base job over David Freese. While give way to Freese on Wednesday, Beckham's hot bat since joining the Angels may prove too potent to keep on the bench with any regularity.

Beckham went 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in a loss to the Astros on Tuesday.

Beckham has started to come alive in his time with the Angels, tallying seven hits and six RBI in his last 17 at-bats. Meanwhile, David Freese, who is in the middle of an 0-for-17 slump, was given the night off. As the Halos are in the thick of a pennant race, they may choose to ride the hot hand in the month of September, which could mean more time for Beckham at the hot corner going forward.

Beckham isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Athletics, Eric Kay of the Angels' official site reports.

Since joining the Angels last week via trade, Beckham has started five of the past seven games, garnering 17 at-bats. However, he'll yield third base to David Freese, while Mike Trout gets a day off in the field by taking on DH.

Beckham was traded to the Angels on Thursday for a player to be named later, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Through mid-June, Beckham looked to be on track for his best season since his rookie campaign of 2009, but things quickly tailed off after that, with his batting average dropping from a peak of .297 to his current .221 mark. With the White Sox determining he would no longer develop into the premium hitter they thought they had drafted in the first round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, Beckham will head to Anaheim, clearing the way for Marcus Semien to take over the keystone. The Angels appear content with Howie Kendrick and David Freese as their second and third basemen, respectively, leaving Beckham to serve as a utility infielder or DH option with his new club.
