Mon May 26 201418:16Kevin Seraphin will play for France
Kevin Seraphin will play for France in the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
Last season Seraphin elected to sit out of the national competition and work on his game stateside, France then went on to win the tournament. "At the end of the day, my mindset is everything I do I try to do [without] regret because regret is one of the worst feelings," Seraphin said. "No regret. I'm happy for them what they did last summer. Now it would be good if we did the same things this summer." Seraphin showed promise during his 2012-13 campaign, but regressed substantially this season. He may be able to help his French national team, but he's not much of a fantasy option playing behind Nene and Marcin Gortat.

Sat Mar 22 201404:30Kevin Seraphin moves back to the bench
Kevin Seraphin moved back to the bench with Marcin Gortat (back) active, playing one minute against the Lakers on Friday.
The Wizards have been holding his hand since training camp and they're probably about ready to give up on him as a reliable player in their rotation. Seraphin can be cut in basically all leagues with how Drew Gooden has stepped it up.

Fri Mar 21 201400:33Kevin Seraphin doesn't play well in start
Kevin Seraphin started in place of Marcin Gortat (back) on Thursday at Portland, playing 19 minutes for four points, two boards and two blocks on 2-of-7 from the field.
He was fine to start the game, but he just looked out of shape as the game went on. Seraphin probably didn't do enough to move ahead of Trevor Booker or Drew Gooden once Gortat comes back, so he's really just a fill-in. Gortat's injury sounds like a day-to-day issue and the fact that Seraphin couldn't get off the bench on Tuesday doesn't bode well for him.

Thu Mar 20 201422:21Kevin Seraphin starting for Wizards
Kevin Seraphin is starting against the Blazers on Thursday in place of Marcin Gortat (back).
He didn't even get off the bench on Tuesday, so the Wizards might not count on him much. Seraphin was playing well just before Nene (knee) went down, so tonight is a massive opportunity for him.

Sat Mar 15 201401:07Seraphin returns and plays seven minutes
Kevin Seraphin (knee) returned to the court on Friday and played seven minutes.
Seraphin hit 2-of-3 shots for four points and two boards, and until he shows he can play double-digit minutes he has no fantasy value even with Nene out.

Wed Mar 12 201417:42Kevin Seraphin (knee) back in the lineup
Kevin Seraphin (knee) is available to play against the Bobcats on Wednesday.
He's missed seven games with knee soreness and there has been no word of anything structurally wrong. The return of Seraphin makes the power forward spot even murkier with Drew Gooden and Trevor Booker, so most fantasy owners may want to steer clear here. We'll let you know how he fares tonight after logging 25 games in his last game on Feb. 23.

Tue Mar 11 201415:04Kevin Seraphin (knee) probable vs. Bobcats
Kevin Seraphin (knee) practiced fully on Tuesday and he's probable to return to action vs. Charlotte on Wednesday.
Seraphin hasn't played in three weeks and his minutes will likely be limited at first, but he's worth keeping an eye on if you want to pluck a center off the waiver wire. Al Harrington, Drew Gooden and Chris Singleton have been backing up starters Marcin Gortat and Trevor Booker, and it's not far-fetched to imagine Seraphin carving out a substantial role off the bench.

Mon Mar 10 201418:17Kevin Seraphin (knee) won't play on Monday
Kevin Seraphin (knee) will not play against the Heat on Monday.
He's been out since Feb. 23 and there is still no timetable for him to return. Seraphin is dealing with knee soreness, so it's a surprise to see him out for so long without a particular diagnosis. Drew Gooden has come on while Trevor Booker has faded in the starting lineup.

Sat Mar 8 201420:00Kevin Seraphin out again on Saturday
Kevin Seraphin will miss Saturday's game with a lingering knee injury.
He hasn't played in six straight games as Trevor Booker continues to solidify his spot in the rotation. The eventual return of Seraphin will hurt Booker's production, but for now, Booker is a decent play in most leagues.

Fri Mar 7 201413:04Kevin Seraphin still not ready to play
Kevin Seraphin (knee) sat out Friday's practice and remains day-to-day.
Seraphin's knee issue was originally through to be mere soreness, but Saturday will likely mark his sixth straight game on the sideline. He's blown a golden opportunity with Nene sidelined. Trevor Booker will continue to start at power forward, but his minutes are shaky because he often sits when opponents go small.

Wed Mar 5 201409:56Kevin Seraphin (knee) won't need surgery
Kevin Seraphin (knee) will miss a fifth straight game on Wednesday but he does not expect to need surgery.
He didn't do much during Tuesday's practice and his knee remains swollen, clouding his status for the near future. With Nene also on the sidelines the Wizards will continue to lean heavily on starters Marcin Gortat and Trevor Booker, with help from backups Chris Singleton, Al Harrington and newcomer Drew Gooden.

Tue Mar 4 201412:47Kevin Seraphin present at Tuesday practice
Kevin Seraphin (knee) was present at Wizards' practice Tuesday.
Seraphin didn't fully participate in Tuesday's practice and declared himself day-to-day. We'll update his status in advance of Wednesday's game against the Jazz, but Trevor Booker would again get the start and play close to 30 minutes if Seraphin is unable to play for the fifth consecutive game on Wednesday.

Mon Mar 3 201417:27Kevin Seraphin (knee) out again on Monday
Kevin Seraphin (knee) will not play against the Grizzlies on Monday.
This will be his fourth game out of the lineup and the timing couldn't be worse with Nene (knee) going down at the same time. Trevor Booker will get the start and should see close to 30 minutes of action tonight. He's a solid play in daily formats, but his potential owners should remember the Grizzlies have fantastic interior defense.

Sat Mar 1 201413:06Kevin Seraphin (knee) out vs. 76ers Saturday
Kevin Seraphin (right knee) will sit out again vs. the 76ers on Saturday.
With Nene (knee) out for 4-6 weeks, Seraphin's temporary absence leaves Washington heavily reliant on starters Marcin Gortat and Trevor Booker, with help from Al Harrington and Chris Singleton off the bench. Booker is averaging a paltry 4.0 points over the past two games, but if there were ever a time to roll the dice in deeper leagues it would be against the Sixers' paper-thin frontcourt.

Thu Feb 27 201413:32Kevin Seraphin to miss Thursday's game vs TOR
Kevin Seraphin (knee) will miss Thursday's game against the Raptors.
This news comes as no surprise as Seraphin missed Thursday's shootaround, but it's nice to get word nice and early before lineups lock. Trevor Booker will benefit from Serephin's absence Thursday night and should make for a decent play based on the minutes he'll see alone. He only scored three points to go along with seven rebounds in 30 minutes Tuesday night, but the Wizards don't have many other frontcourt options since they're already missing Nene.

Thu Feb 27 201412:39Kevin Seraphin misses Thursday shootaround
Kevin Seraphin (knee) was not present at Thursday's shootaround.
The good news is that Seraphin was healthy enough to travel with the Wizards to Toronto, but his absence at shootaround leaves his status for Thursday's game against the Raptors in doubt. Trevor Booker's 30 minutes of action with Seraphin out Tuesday night only amounted to three points on 1-of-5 shooting, so the door is open for Seraphin to play himself into a starting role if he can get healthy. If he's unable to play Thursday night, Booker would again be the de facto power forward to own for the Wizards.

Tue Feb 25 201412:04Kevin Seraphin out vs Orlando on Tuesday
Kevin Seraphin (knee) will miss Tuesday's game against the Magic.
With Nene out for four-to-six weeks, there had been quite a bit of speculation in fantasy circles on whether Seraphin or Trevor Booker would be the player to own, but this news certainly settles that debate for at least one game. Booker will get the inside track on Nene's job by starting for the Wizards against Orlando Tuesday, but Seraphin should still remain a solid pickup as long as he can get healthy quickly.

Sun Feb 23 201421:26Kevin Seraphin steps it up for Nene
Kevin Seraphin played 17 of the last 18 minutes of Sunday's game against the Cavs, finishing with six points, six boards, and one steal in 25 minutes.
He replaced Nene at the time of his injury and would have played the entire game had the Cavs been able to keep it close. The Wizards have taken a lot of time developing Seraphin in the past two seasons, but he's yet to come around. Seraphin has not started any games this year while Trevor Booker has 19 starts. Chances are Booker takes over as the starter and should be picked up first, but it's not a bad idea to grab Seraphin.

Sun Feb 9 201422:37Kevin Seraphin scores 10 points in 23 minutes
Playing 23 minutes off the bench on Sunday, Kevin Seraphin led all Wizards reserves with 10 points and eight rebounds.
It's notable that Seraphin played this many minutes despite the fact that Washington's frontcourt was healthy. His increased role reduced Trevor Booker to an afterthought and deep-league owners should keep a close eye on Seraphin in case he maintains a 20+ minute role after the All-Star break.

Mon Feb 3 201422:46Seraphin scores 19 points off the bench
Kevin Seraphin scored 19 points off the bench on Monday with Trevor Booker (personal) out, hitting 7-of-10 shots to go with five rebounds in 23 minutes.
Seraphin has had a few nice outings lately but he's still only averaging 20.4 minutes per game over his last three contests and Booker's eventual return will help keep him in check. Deep league owners may want to keep one eye on Seraphin but that's about it for now.
