Delgado's return to the rotation worked out well Thursday, as he went five shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out two.
Hey, not bad at all for the guy's first start since April 10. He's scheduled to get another chance to impress next Thursday against the Giants.

Delgado will join the Diamondbacks' rotation starting Thursday in San Diego, MLB.com's Steve Gilbert reports.
Arizona will roll with a six-man rotation for potentially the remainder of the season, as Vidal Nuno and the rest of the Diamondbacks' starters will all be pushed back a day. Delgado has never had much success as a starter, and has a 5.85 ERA in 60 innings this season. The one glimmer of hope would be his 3.85 FIP, but that's significantly inflated by his unsustainable 25.8 percent K-rate, which is a byproduct of his stuff playing up out of the bullpen. Still, for those desperate for a starter, the matchup in San Diego could be beneficial.
Thu Aug 14 201413:04Delgado achieved rare feat of picking up win and loss Wednesday
Delgado achieved the rare feat of picking up a win and a loss Wednesday vs. the Indians. He suffered the loss in Game 1 of the doubleheader, then picked up the victory in the extra innings of Game 2.
Delgado's day might have gotten off to a rotten start after he surrendered a walk-off homer to Zach Walters, but his mates rewarded him for spinning a scoreless top of the 11th by scoring the go-ahead run in the bottom half of the frame. The odd daily stat line notwithstanding, Delgado should be viewed as untouchable in just about any fantasy format due to his 5.24 ERA and 1.35 WHIP.
Fri Apr 11 201402:30Del-gone-do?: Randall spanked, 'pen next?
Randall Delgado hit the showers early on Thursday against the Giants after allowing three runs on six hits and three walks over 3 1/3 innings without striking out a batter.
With Josh Collmenter's return to the rotation looming, this may have been Delgado's last start in awhile. He can't say he wasn't given an opportunity, and the bullpen might be a better fit at the moment; Delgado certainly has the stuff for it, despite his shoddy results this year. If he somehow hangs onto his spot through one more turn in the rotation, Delgado and his 10.13 ERA and 2.88 WHIP would get the Mets on Tuesday.

Thu Mar 27 201417:04Delgado allows two runs in four innings
Randall Delgado allowed two runs in four innings during Thursday's start against the Reds.
Delgado surrendered seven hits in total while walking one and striking out three. As the D'Backs demoted Archie Bradley to Triple-A, the fifth spot in the rotation appears to be Delgado's, though no announcement has been made yet. Though Delgado showed good control last season in 116 1/3 innings, he was very homer-prone and wasn't anything special in the strikeout department.

Tue Mar 4 201417:40Delgado hit hard against the Padres
Randall Delgado was hit around in Tuesday's start against the Padres, allowing four runs and failing to make it out of the fourth inning.
Delgado's four runs came on five hits and a walk. Carlos Quentin took him deep in the second and Yonder Alonso went yard in the third. Delgado will contribute out of the bullpen but can and likely will be used as an emergency starter as well.

Thu Feb 27 201418:51Randall Delgado pitches well Thursday
Randall Delgado held the Dodgers to one run on four hits over 3 2/3 innings Thursday.
He struck out a pair and didn't walk anyone. Delgado was removed after retiring the first two batters in the fourth and then watched RJ Hively serve up a home run to the first batter he faced to tie the game. The Bronson Arroyo signing pushed Delgado to the bullpen, but he's a nice insurance policy to have around.

Sun Feb 9 201414:17Randall Delgado likely to make team as RP
Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers said Sunday that Randall Delgado will likely make the team as a reliever if he doesn't crack the rotation.
Barring injury, Delgado will no longer be part of the rotation following the Bronson Arroyo signing. However, he's out of options and the D'Backs don't want to lose him, so they'll keep him around as a reliever. Given that the fragile Brandon McCarthy is part of Arizona's starting five, it wouldn't be a surprise if Delgado winds up making plenty of starts.

Thu Sep 26 201301:07Delgado rocked by SD in final start of 2013
Randall Delgado was rocked for six runs on seven hits over five innings in a loss to the Padres on Wednesday.
The right-hander struck out four and didn't walk a batter, but San Diego hit him hard. Homers by Jedd Gyorko and Tommy Medica accounted for half of the Friars' runs off Delgado. It was an unfortunate close to a decent season for Delgado, who had worked his first career shutout against San Diego earlier this year. The right-hander went 5-7 with a 4.26 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over 116 1/3 innings in 2013.

Fri Sep 20 201323:37Delgado allows two runs in no-decision
Randall Delgado allowed two runs over five innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Friday.
Delgado gave up three hits and two walks while failing to strike out a batter. His only mistake was a two-run homer by opposing pitcher Jhoulys Chacin in the third inning, but it was enough to cost him a chance at the win. He'll finish his season with a start against the Padres next week in San Diego.

Sun Sep 15 201319:03Delgado pitches well in win over Rockies
Randall Delgado pitched well in Sunday's victory over the Rockies, allowing just two runs on five hits over his six innings of work.
Delgado fanned three while issuing one free pass on the afternoon. The only blemish on his outing was a two-run homer off the bat of Charlie Cluberson in the fifth inning. It was a nice bounceback effort from Delgado after he was clobbered by the Dodgers on Monday. He'll carry a 3.98 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 75/21 K/BB ratio into Friday's rematch against these same Rockies in Colorado.

Tue Sep 10 201301:17Delgado crushed for 4 HRs in 2 2/3 frames
Randall Delgado was blasted for five runs in just 2 2/3 innings in Monday's loss to the Dodgers.
Arizona manager Kirk Gibson didn't have much of a choice. The Dodgers launched four homers off Delgado, including two from Juan Uribe (who finished with three). Delgado has allowed 13 homers in his last eight starts. Keeping the ball in the park is a necessity on Sunday against the Rockies in Arizona.

Wed Sep 4 201318:37Randall Delgado strikes out six Blue Jays
Randall Delgado pitched seven innings of three-run ball Wednesday against the Blue Jays.
Delgado has kept the Diamondbacks in nearly every game he's pitched, but he hasn't been well rewarded for it. They won in extra innings today to move to 10-5 in his starts. Delgado, though, has a 4-5 record and a 3.69 ERA.

Sat Aug 31 201301:05Randall Delgado takes loss in 1-0 game
Randall Delgado allowed just a run and three hits in seven innings Friday against the Giants.
Unfortunately, that was enough to hand him a loss in a 1-0 game. He's winless in his last five starts, though he's turned in three quality starts in the span and the Diamondbacks are 3-2 in those games. Delgado is 4-5 this season, but the Diamondbacks are 9-5 when he starts.

Sat Aug 24 201323:48Delgado surrenders three runs in no-decision
Randall Delgado allowed three earned runs in six innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Phillies.
The game went deep into extras. Delgado gave up only one walk and three hits -- but two of those hits were home runs. The 23-year-old has been more prone to big innings lately and isn't the safest bet in mixed leagues despite his sneaky-good 3.87 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 61/17 K/BB ratio in 83 2/3 total frames. He'll get the Giants next.

Mon Aug 19 201322:59Randall Delgado loses to Reds
Randall Delgado surrendered five runs in six innings Monday in a loss to the Reds.
The defeat snaps a streak of six straight wins in Delgado's starts for the Diamondbacks. Delgado pitched very well in a couple of those outings, but he now has a 6.00 ERA in his last four starts. The Diamondbacks figure to keep him in the rotation for now, but one more bad outing might get him replaced by Tyler Skaggs.

Wed Aug 14 201300:38Delgado allows 3 runs in ND against Orioles
Randall Delgado gave up three runs on five hits over seven innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Orioles.
The right-hander struck out one and walked another. His night was doomed by a pair of home runs allowed to J.J. Hardy and Chris Davis which accounted for all three Baltimore runs. Delgado (4-4, 3.52 ERA) has surrendered 11 runs over three starts since he pitched a three-hitter against San Diego on July 26.

Fri Aug 2 201323:05Delgado goes six innings in victory vs. BoSox
Randall Delgado notched his third straight victory Friday, despite allowing a season-high six runs (four earned) over six innings against the Red Sox.
He is offense to thank for this one, as the Red Sox knocked him around pretty good, including two-run homers by David Ortiz and Stephen Drew. The Red Sox are a tough matchup for anyone right now, so the hiccup was understandable. He'll have a good chance to bounce back when he faces the Mets at home next week.

Sat Jul 27 201300:25Randall Delgado shuts out the Padres
Randall Delgado pitched a three-hitter Friday in an 10-0 shutout of the Padres.
Not only was it Delgado's first shutout in 32 career starts, but it was his first complete game. He hadn't pitched more than seven innings in any of his previous seven starts this year. Delgado is 3-3 with a 2.85 ERA overall, eliminating any pressing need for the Diamondbacks to trade for a starter. He's not a good bet to remain at this level, though.

Sun Jul 21 201319:16Delgado picks up win against Giants
Randall Delgado threw 5 2/3 scoreless innings in Sunday's win over the Giants.
He gave up two hits and allowed four walks, but managed to come away with the win. Since being added to the Diamondbacks' rotation, Delgado has five quality starts in his last seven outings. Still, he'll likely be moved to the bullpen when Brandon McCarthy return from the DL.
