Fri Mar 9 201201:22Mahinmi struggles in another start for Mavs
Ian Mahinmi was a bust in another start for injured Brendan Haywood, finishing Thursday's game with four points, two rebounds and two turnovers in 33 minutes.
The minutes were there but Mahinmi got into early foul trouble and never found a rhythm offensively, disappointing owners who spot-started him. Brendan Haywood is questionable for the Mavs' games on Friday and Saturday, so Mahinmi may have a chance to redeem himself.

Tue Mar 6 201223:54Ian Mahinmi plays well in Haywood's absence
Ian Mahinmi had nine points, six rebounds, three steals and two blocks in Tuesday's win.
He started in place of Brendan Haywood, out with a sprained ankle, and played well. Haywood's injury isn't thought to be serious, so Mahinmi's run could be short lived.

Tue Mar 6 201201:52Mahinmi scores 13 points with Haywood out
Ian Mahinmi was pressed into 28 minutes worth of action with Brendan Haywood (ankle) leaving on the game's first play, and finished with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block.
Mahinmi played a critical role on a few plays down the stretch, and generally looked good enough for fantasy consideration over the Mavs' remaining four-game week. Haywood said that he might "miss a game or two," but players are often optimistic and Mahinmi might have the week to himself. Give him a look if you need a big man in the short-term.

Thu Feb 2 201201:16Ian Mahinmi scores six in first start
Ian Mahinmi got his first NBA start on Wednesday, as Brendan Haywood was out with a sore back.
He didn't live up to the hype, finishing with six points and nine rebounds, but remains a player to keep an eye on if you're thin at center. He had 17 points and nine rebounds on Monday, and could still potentially replace Haywood in the starting lineup on a full-time basis.

Tue Jan 24 201205:02Mahinmi scores 17 points with nine boards
Ian Mahinmi scored 17 points with nine rebounds off the bench on Monday against the Suns, hitting 4-of-7 shots from the field (9-of-12 from the foul line) to go with three blocks and two assists in 28 minutes.
The foul shooting is an obvious outlier against a struggling Suns squad, and coming off the bench behind Brendan Haywood (season-high 10 points, six boards) we're not too excited about Mahinmi's value in normal formats. We wouldn't be surprised, however, if he toppled Haywood at some point in the position battle.

Tue Jan 17 201201:16Mahinmi nearly double-doubles in loss
Ian Mahinmi nearly double-doubled with nine points on 4-of-7 shooting with 10 rebounds and a steal in 24 minutes against the Lakers on Monday.
Mahinmi has played better than Brendan Haywood (one point, seven rebounds, two blocks, 21 minutes) on the whole this year, but the two are different players performing different functions for the Mavs and will likely split time all year long.

Tue Jan 3 201200:14Mahinmi playing better than Haywood
Ian Mahinmi scored 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting with nine rebounds, one steal, and no blocks in 21 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Starter Brendan Haywood scored six points with eight boards and two blocks in 26 minutes, but entered tonight averaging just 5.0 points, 5.2 boards, and 0.8 blocks in 18.5 minutes. Meanwhile, Mahinmi has averaged 7.8 points and 3.2 boards with 0.4 steals and 0.6 blocks in the same amount of time, but has looked much better in the process. Be ready to move on him if he can overtake Haywood in the position battle.

Fri Dec 30 201123:25Mahinmi scores 19 points for the Mavs
Ian Mahinmi scored 19 points off the bench for the Mavs on Friday, hitting 6-of-6 shots from the field (7-of-11 from the foul line) with five rebounds, one steal, and two blocks in 29 minutes.
He caught our eye on Thursday with a nine-point outing, but also because he appears to be a better fit than starting center Brendan Haywood. Haywood's size will certainly be needed, but Mahinmi moves around better and has better offensive skills. It's not time to add Mahinmi in standard sized leagues, but tonight's outing puts him firmly on the radar. If he does it again be ready to move.

Fri Dec 30 201101:29Ian Mahinmi scores nine points vs. OKC
Ian Mahinmi scored nine points on 3-of-4 shooting with two rebounds and a steal in 21 minutes off the bench on Thursday.
It appears Rick Carlisle is trusting him more, but it's much too early to be discussing his fantasy value unless you're in a 30-team league.

Wed Jul 6 201111:28Ian Mahinmi: Kobe more arrogant than LeBron
Ian Mahinmi thinks that Kobe Bryant is more arrogant than LeBron James.
It's a slow news day to say the least. Mahinmi's exact quote was, "Kobe is super arrogant but everybody loves him," Mahinmi said. "To me, Kobe is more arrogant (than LeBron James)." It's doubtful that anyone really cares about this comment and it's likely to blow over, but it's an interesting bit of fodder in the doldrums of a prolonged lockout.

Sun Jan 16 201102:49Mahinmi scores career-high 17 points
Ian Mahinmi scored a career-high 17 points on 6-of-6 shooting with six rebounds and no other statistics after Dirk Nowitzki got ejected on Saturday.
Good for him, but he's not going to duplicate this effort any time soon so long as Dirk is still a member of the Mavs. He remains fodder for the waiver wire.
Wed Dec 8 201000:37Mahinmi double-doubles on Tuesday
Ian Mahinmi double-doubled on Tuesday against the Warriors, scoring 12 points on 2-of-5 shooting (8-of-10 from the foul line) with a career-high 10 rebounds and two steals in 21 minutes off the bench.
Rick Carlisle opted to use him over Brendan Haywood in the second half, but this line only happens because Tyson Chandler (flu) was out and, of course, they played the Warriors. He's still waiver wire fodder.
Sat Aug 21 201017:14Mahinmi will miss 10 days w/ finger injury
Mavericks center Ian Mahinmi will miss 10 days after injuring his left middle finger.
Mahinmi might miss some of the world championships, but the French national team has decided to keep him on the roster. He should be 100% recovered by the time training camp begins.

Mon Jul 12 201018:20Mavs sign big man Mahinmi from Spurs
The Mavericks have agreed on a two-year deal with Spurs C Ian Mahinmi for the veteran's minimum of about $1.8 million.
He'll back up center Brendan Haywood, and possibly Erick Dampier if he remains with the Mavs, but won't offer fantasy value in Dallas.

Mon Jul 12 201011:41Mavericks close to signing backup C Mahinmi
The Mavericks are close to signing former Spurs center Ian Mahinmi, according to the Dallas Morning News.
The 25-year-old Frenchman averaged 3.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in six minutes per game last season. The Mavs are betting that he'son the verge of a big improvement, and will likely deploy him as Brendan Haywood's backup. As such, his fantasy appeal is very limited.
