Hundley went 2-for-4 Saturday with a two-run shot off Mark Melancon, his 10th home run of the season.
He's slipped a bit since the All-Star break, but his .275/.307/.477 second-half slash line is still plenty solid for a catcher. Expect Hundley to continue getting a steady workload in September with only 28-year-old rookie Dustin Garneau behind him on the depth chart.
Mon Aug 24 201517:11Hundley (head) will return to lineup Monday against Braves
Hundley (head) will return to the lineup Monday against the Braves.
Hundley exited Saturday's game for precautionary reasons after taking a foul ball off the head, and he sat out Sunday's game as well, but the veteran backstop is back behind the dish Monday. He will play again Monday, however, batting seventh in a tough matchup against Julio Teheran.

Hundley (head) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mets, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports.
Hundley was pulled out of Saturday's contest after he was struck in the head by a foul ball, but it's unclear if he sustained a concussion as a result of the play. In any event, the Rockies appear inclined to give Hundley a day off as a precaution at the very least, and it's unknown if he'll be back in the lineup for Monday's series opener against the Braves.
Sun Aug 23 201500:18Hundley removed from Saturday's game for precautionary reasons
Hundley was removed from Saturday's game for precautionary reasons, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Manager Walt Weiss called Hundley "woozy" after he took a hit from a foul ball, and was replaced by Justin Garneau shortly after. The Rockies remain tight-lipped on the specifics of the injury, but neither Weiss nor Rockies club spokesman seem too concerned with the severity of the injury.
Sat Aug 22 201513:47Hundley 3-3 with walk and RBI in Friday's loss to Mets
Hundley went 3-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in Friday's loss to the Mets.
Hundley finished a home run shy of the cycle on the evening and pushed his season batting average back over the .300 mark in the process. Perhaps more than any player on the Rockies, he's benefited from calling Coors Field his home park, as he's hit just .240 on the road compared to a .354 mark in the higher altitude of Colorado.
Thu Aug 20 201518:16Hundley not in Thursday's lineup against Nationals
Hundley is not in Thursday's lineup against the Nationals, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
Hundley had his usual backup, Michael McKenry, have his season ended with a knee injury and replaced by 28-year-old rookie Dustin Garneau, who will get the start Thursday. The lack of a proven backup could lead to more starts for Hundley, but the Rockies might also decide not to stress the legs of their 31-year-old backstop for a season where they are nowhere near contention.

Hundley socked a two-run homer and added a single in Tuesday's 10-4 loss to the Mariners.
Consider Hundley as "Exhibit A" for the impact playing at Coors Field can have on a player's overall numbers. Though he's only received 22 more at-bats at home than the road this season, Hundley has produced seven of his nine homers and 31 of his 39 RBI at Coors Field. That huge discrepancy makes Hundley a risk to keep active in weeks where the Rockies' schedule is road-heavy, but he's a stellar streaming or daily option just about any time he's in the lineup in Colorado.

Hundley went 3-for-5 with an RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Mariners.
The Colorado catcher continues to rake at Coors Field, where he's delivered a .349/.383/.553 line on the season. Hundley's contributions in the stolen-base department have also qualified as a pleasant surprise, those he could stand to exercise more discretion with only a 5-for-10 success rate on attempts this season.

Hundley went 2-for-5 with a double, homer, and two RBI in Thursday's loss to the Cardinals.
Hundley has been one of the pleasant surprises from the catching spot this season, producing a .304/.346/.473 line, with all three numbers well above his career norms. He owes some credit to Coors Field for boosting his performance, but like what was the case Thursday, he hasn't been a total zero on the road this season, either. He's batting a respectable .262 away from Coors.

Hundley went 3-for-4 with a double, a homer, two RBI and two runs in Wednesday's home loss to Texas.
Coors Field continues to treat Hundley terrifically well, as just one of his seven homers has come on the road, and he's now hitting .351 in Colorado. His playing time's been pretty consistent, too, giving Hundley value in a variety of fantasy formats, but he's best used in daily leagues when at home.
Sat Jul 11 201513:24Hundley not in lineup for Saturday's game against Braves
Hundley is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Braves.
He's hit safely in seven of eight games to begin July, with multiple hits in each of his last games, but he will get a day to rest his legs Saturday after four straight starts. Mike McKenry will catch and bat fifth against right-hander Matt Wisler.
Thu Jul 9 201512:41Hundley 3-4 with double, RBI, and stolen base in Wednesday's los...
Hundley went 3-for-4 with a double, RBI, and a stolen base in Wednesday's loss to the Angels.
The steal was Hundley's third of the season, a number that matches his total from the previous five seasons combined. It's surprising that he's been given the green light so frequently despite a poor 3-for-8 success rate on the bases, so don't expect many more contributions from Hundley in that category the rest of the way. Even so, Hundley should continue to uphold a respectable batting average by virtue of calling Coors Field his home park. The career .245 hitter is batting a stunning .299 on the season.

Hundley is out of the lineup Sunday against the Diamondbacks, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.

Hundley is out of Thursday's lineup, the Denver Post's Patrick Saunders reports.
Mike McKenry gets the start at catcher as the Rockies continue to go with a somewhat even split behind the plate, although Hundley has the slight edge in playing time at this point.
