LHP Jose Quintana drew the Cubs' season-ending loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series. He allowed six runs on six hits in two-plus innings as his postseason ERA ballooned from 1.59 to 5.40. The southpaw expects to be a mainstay in the Cubs' rotation next season.

LHP Jose Quintana wasn't officially named the Cubs' Game 1 starter in the NLCS until Saturday morning. Quintana's wife fell ill in the team's charter flight from Washington to Los Angeles early Friday morning. Manager Joe Maddon said he waited as long as possible to make sure Quintana was up for the assignment. He gave up two runs on two hits in five innings.

LHP Jose Quintana took a no-decision in his first career postseason start despite allowing just two hits over 5 2/3 innings Monday against the Washington Nationals. Quintana struck out seven and walked one and became the fifth pitcher in franchise history to throw at least five innings without an earned run in their playoff debut.

RHP Jose Quintana will start Game 3 in Chicago on Monday against Washington RHP Max Scherzer. Quintana has never faced the Nationals and he was 7-3 with a 3.74 ERA this season with the Cubs after coming from the crosstown Chicago White Sox. It will be the first postseason start for Quintana, who went 4 2/3 innings in his last regular-season start against the Cincinnati Reds on September 29. He gave up four earned runs and six hits.

LHP Jose Quintana worked 4 2/3 innings and had a no-decision on Friday. He retired the first 11 consecutive batters he faced before giving up a two-out double in the fourth inning. Quintana finished September with a 2-0 record and a 2.51 ERA with 36 strikeouts and just four walks in five starts. Quintana threw 81 pitches through 4 2/3 innings and was charged with four runs and six hits while striking out five. He also squeezed home the Cubs' first run with a sacrifice bunt in the second inning.

LHP Jose Quintana will make his 14th start of the season Friday since being traded to the Cubs. He is coming off his second career shutout over Milwaukee in his last start, allowing only three hits while striking out 10. This will be his second career start against the Reds. He pitched five innings in his first start and got the win Aug. 14.

LHP Jose Quintana recorded his second career complete-game shutout Sunday. He last accomplished the feat on July 24, 2015 while pitching for the White Sox, who traded him across town at the deadline this season. Since joining the Cubs, he's gone 7-3 with a 3.50 ERA and with 10 strikeouts Sunday, he has 93 for the Cubs and reached 200 overall in a season for the first time in his career.

LHP Jose Quintana gave up three runs and six hits, struck out eight and walked one in 5 2/3 innings to fall short of his fourth consecutive quality start. He was 3-0 with a 2.60 ERA in three previous starts against St. Louis. His ERA is 3.95 with the Cubs this season, and he has allowed no more than three earned runs in 10 of his 12 starts with Chicago after he was acquired from the White Sox.

LHP Jose Quintana (6-3, 3.88 ERA) makes his 12th start with the Cubs and 30th of the season in Sunday's series finale. In his last start Tuesday against the Mets, he allowed two runs on six hits over seven innings, tying his longest outing with the Cubs. He's had three straight quality starts, going 2-0 with a 2.37 ERA in that span. Quintana is 3-0 with a 2.60 in three career starts against St. Louis, allowing three runs in six innings July 23 at Wrigley Field in a 5-3 Cubs victory.

LHP Jose Quintana, who had won three of his previous four starts, threw six scoreless innings. He allowed six hits and one walk with six strikeouts. He threw 105 pitches and left with the game scoreless, leading to a no-decision. "I felt pretty good," Quintana said. "It was a battle, a really good game, both starters. My mind was, 'Keep the game close.'" His C, Alex Avila, said Quintana mixed things up effectively. "He had a good mix," Avila said. "He's mostly predominantly fastball-breaking ball, but he threw a lot of changeups. His changeup his past few outings has been really good."

LHP Jose Quintana (5-3) worked six innings and allowed three runs and four hits while striking out nine on Wednesday in a win over Pittsburgh. "I thought his stuff was really good," Cubs manager Joe Maddon said. "I thought the curveball was sharper, I saw a really good changeups out of him tonight also. Fastball, great life at home plate." Quintana retired 14 consecutive batters between the first inning and Josh Bell's homer in the sixth. It was his sixth quality start and fifth victory in nine outings with the Cubs.

LHP Jose Quintana (4-3, 4.50 ERA with the Cubs) makes his ninth Cubs start in Wednesday's series finale. In his last start on Aug. 25 at Philadelphia he allowed six runs on nine hits over five innings as Chicago fell 7-1. All six runs allowed came in the first two innings. Quintana had allowed six earned runs in his previous three starts combined. He has made eight starts with the Cubs since he arrived in a trade with the White Sox. He was 4-8 with a 4.49 ERA in 18 starts with the South Siders. He's made just one career start against the Pirates, allowing three runs in six innings on June 16 in a 3-0 loss while with the White Sox.

LHP Jose Quintana hasn't been all that consistent since joining the Chicago Cubs in July. That continued Friday. Following up back-to-back victories, Quintana got into early troubles in an eventual 7-1 loss in Philadelphia. Quintana had difficulty locating his pitches and was roughed up for six runs, all coming in the first two innings. He allowed nine hits and walked four while striking out seven in five innings.

LHP Jose Quintana (3-2, 3.86 ERA) makes his seventh start with the Cubs and 25th of the season on Saturday. In his last outing -- a 15-5 Cubs win over Cincinnati on Aug. 14 -- he worked five innings and allowed two runs and four hits while striking out four and walking four. Quintana will make his 10th career start against the Blue Jays and has pitched at least six innings in all nine previous outings, posting a 1.77 ERA.

LHP Jose Quintana (3-2) allowed just one earned run in five innings and threw 105 pitches, the most since he threw 113 on June 22 at Minnesota. Quintana was pleased with the offensive support as he picked up his first win since July 23. "It was really good and it was early," said Quintana, who yielded two runs (one earned) on four hits and four walks while striking out four. "I started slow and that (run support) was really impressive to me."

LHP Jose Quintana (2-2) was rocked for a first-inning three-run homer off the bat of Giants C Buster Posey one start after permitting three long balls to Washington during a no-decision Aug. 3. Quintana was lifted after allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits while walking one and striking out three in six innings. Quintana threw 89 pitches and 57 for strikes.

LHP Jose Quintana (2-1, 4.13 ERA) is scheduled to make his fifth start on Tuesday since being acquired from the crosstown White Sox. Quintana is coming off a no-decision when he allowed three home runs and six earned runs during five innings against visiting Arizona on Thursday.
