Colby Rasmus also went deep for the Jays. The two-homer day was Arencibia's second of the season, and gives him nine bombs through his first 40 games. He's still not drawing any walks, but his .245/.273/.476 line should be more than getting it done for owners in two-catcher mixed leagues.

Fri May 4 201201:33J.P. Arencibia hits second homer
J.P. Arencibia hit a three-run homer off the Angels' Dan Haren in Thursday's win.
The homer was Arencibia's first since his walkoff blast in the 16th inning against the Indians on Opening Day. It's a safe bet that better power numbers are on the way. As for his batting average, well, that'll likely remain a problem.

Thu Apr 5 201220:28Arencibia's homer lifts Jays past Tribe in 16
J.P. Arencibia hit a three-run homer in the top of the 16th Thursday to power the Indians past the Blue Jays in the longest Opening Day game on record.
It looked like it'd be a quiet enough game before the Jays roared back with three runs in the ninth. After that, we got to see a five-man infield that worked out (Michael Brantley grounded into an inning-ending double play with the bases loaded in the 12th) and a benches clearing incident after Luis Perez nearly beaned Shin-Soo Choo in the 15th. It finally ended in the 16th, with Perez getting the win for four scoreless innings of work.

J.P. Arencibia went 2-for-5 and hit his third spring homer Saturday against the Phillies.
Arencibia started the spring 0-for-8, but he's 7-for-19 since. He'll get another year to attempt to establish himself as Toronto's long-term catcher. With Travis d'Arnaud on the way, Arencibia needs to improve both offensively and defensively if he's going to have a future with the Blue Jays.

J.P. Arencibia's third inning solo homer would be all the offense the Blue Jays could muster in a lopsided loss to the Rays on Wednesday.
Arencibia took James Shields deep. His 18th bomb of the season was his sixth in 10 games. He appears to be over the funk he was in for all of June and the first half of July.

His average remains anemic at .218, but his 16 homers and .451 slugging percentage are very strong for a catcher in his first full major league season.

Fri Jul 22 201123:14J.P. Arencibia goes deep twice
J.P. Arencibia was the only Blue Jays hitter to show up Friday in Arlington, as he belted a pair of solo homers in the blowout loss.
An Adam Lind single was the only other base knock the Jays could muster in the 12-2 laugher. They were Arencibia's first two bombs of July, but he now has 14 on the year to go along with 41 RBI. You'll take that from a catcher even though he's batting just .215.

J.P. Arencibia blasted his 12th home run in Thursday's loss to the Pirates.
He and Yunel Escobar both took Jeff Karstens deep in the fifth, but those solo shots are the only runs the Jays could put together. Arencibia finishes June with a .159 average, but he's been consistent in the power department, belting four longballs each month so far.

J.P. Arencibia picked up one of just two Blue Jays hits in a 2-0 loss to the Braves on Monday.
