The Marlins are expected to option RHP Chris Hatcher back to Double-A Jacksonville when Clay Hensley is activated from the disabled list to pitch Monday.
A converted catcher, Hatcher posted a 2.31 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 39/15 K/BB ratio in 35 innings for Jacksonville this season. He didn't allow a run during one appearance for the Marlins. Hensley will start against the Mets on Monday.

A converted catcher, Hatcher has posted a 2.31 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 39/15 K/BB ratio in 35 innings for Jacksonville this season. Hatcher actually got a cup of coffee with the Marlins as a catcher last season, going hitless in six at-bats. Still very early in his development as a pitcher, his use out of Florida's bullpen figures to be limited for the time being.

Chris Hatcher is making the switch to being a pitcher this season.
Hatcher, who made his made his major league debut with the Marlins last September, has been a catcher until this point. The former 2005 fifth-round pick has some pitching experience from his time at the University of North Carolina and has made two appearances over the past two seasons with Double-A Jacksonville. The 26-year-old Hatcher currently occupies a spot on the 40-man roster.

Marlins optioned C Chris Hatcher to Double-A Jacksonville.
Hatcher was called up last week in order to provide some much-needed insurance behind the plate. Now that Mike Rivera is with the big club, he's no longer needed. Hatcher will join up with his Jacksonville teammates, who will participate in the Southern League playoffs on Thursday.

Marlins purchased the contract of C Chris Hatcher from Double-A Jacksonville.
The 24-year-old Hatcher will act as the Marlins' third catcher during the month of September. He was hitting .202/.261/.277 at the Double-A level.
