Strickland was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.

Strickland appeared in 11 spring contests for the Giants, allowing eight runs (seven earned) over 10.1 innings. He tossed seven scoreless innings in the majors last season, however, and could be called upon again if the need for another bullpen arm arises.
