McGee, a free agent after being released by Philadelphia on Sunday, has drawn the interest of Golden State, CSN Bay Area reports.

A Warriors' source declined to address the matter, which can mean discussions are ongoing and fluid. McGee would give the Warriors some insurance at center, where Andrew Bogut's injury history is a concern. McGee's had a checkered career, pockmarked by baffling on-court decisions leading some to speculate about his maturity and judgment.

McGee was waived by the Sixers prior to midnight Sunday.

This means he is eligible to join a postseason roster, although that may be unlikely given his reputation as a bad locker room presence. McGee has relatively no fantasy value at the moment, as he was not even seeing fantasy relevant minutes when he was healthy and on a team earlier this season.

McGee is in talks with the 76ers about a potential buyout before Sunday's playoff-eligibility deadline at midnight, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.

McGee may be held out of Sunday's game against the Pacers as a result of his potential departure. More importantly, he seems interested in signing with a playoff-contending team to finish out the rest the of the regular season. Until further news is released by the 76ers, McGee is still a lackluster option who has only averaged 10.6 minutes on the court over his last six games.

The Sixers will send back the rights to Cenk Akyol, a 2005 draftee who is unlikely to ever transition to the NBA. McGee is owed $11.3 million this season and $12 million in 2015-16, and it's unclear whether the Sixers are content to take on that salary, or if they will look to buy McGee out. In conjunction with the Arron Afflalo deal earlier Thursday, Denver has now created roughly $18 million in trade exceptions. As far as McGee's value is concerned, he should have an opportunity to see significant minutes in an underwhelming Philadelphia frontcourt, assuming the Sixers keep him around. That said, he's played in only 22 games over the past season-and-a-half, so his health may ultimately dictate how much fantasy value he holds down the stretch.

Despite taking part in practice Sunday, McGee's absence will extend to four games as a result of an illness. In two contests prior to the malady, he averaged five points, three rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in 16 minutes. Meanwhile, consider him questionable for Tuesday's contest at the Lakers.

It has been a long time since we saw McGee in game action, but now that he is back, the expectation should be that he sees 10-20 minutes. Based on his shot-blocking ability, he should be monitored in most full-season leagues, but owners in daily formats should look elsewhere for production Wednesday.

McGee, who is battling soreness in his tibia, put in a full practice Thursday and is officially considered questionable for Friday's game against the Celtics. While it seems unlikely he plays Friday, the Nuggets expect him back on the court within the next few days, so Sunday against Washington and Monday against the Clippers look like more realistic possibilities. McGee, who hasn't played since early January, has seen time in just 14 games this season after playing just five last season. Once he's back to full health, he'll challenge J.J. Hickson and Darrell Arthur for minutes off the bench behind Jusuf Nurkic.

McGee hasn't played since December 5th due to a muscle aggravation in the leg in which he had a stress fracture last season.

McGee may see increased court time when he finally comes back from his injury, given the trade of Timofey Mozgov, but he's not someone to rely upon, given he played just 12 minutes a night prior to sitting out these last six weeks. McGee is an option in deeper leagues only at the moment.
