Wed Mar 4 201506:22McGee
McGee, a free agent after being released by Philadelphia on Sunday, has drawn the interest of Golden State, CSN Bay Area reports.
A Warriors' source declined to address the matter, which can mean discussions are ongoing and fluid. McGee would give the Warriors some insurance at center, where Andrew Bogut's injury history is a concern. McGee's had a checkered career, pockmarked by baffling on-court decisions leading some to speculate about his maturity and judgment.
Mon Mar 2 201512:27McGee waived by Sixers prior to midnight Sunday
McGee was waived by the Sixers prior to midnight Sunday.
This means he is eligible to join a postseason roster, although that may be unlikely given his reputation as a bad locker room presence. McGee has relatively no fantasy value at the moment, as he was not even seeing fantasy relevant minutes when he was healthy and on a team earlier this season.

McGee is in talks with the 76ers about a potential buyout before Sunday's playoff-eligibility deadline at midnight, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.
McGee may be held out of Sunday's game against the Pacers as a result of his potential departure. More importantly, he seems interested in signing with a playoff-contending team to finish out the rest the of the regular season. Until further news is released by the 76ers, McGee is still a lackluster option who has only averaged 10.6 minutes on the court over his last six games.

McGee saw 11 minutes off the bench in his Sixers debut against the Pacers on Friday.
It's still unclear what kind of role McGee will have in Philadelphia moving forward, although he seems to be in line for limited minutes as the Sixers look to showcase their younger talent moving forward, for better or for worse.
Fri Feb 20 201518:17JaVale McGee: Will Play Friday
McGee will play against the Pacers on Friday, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
It's still unclear just what type of role McGee will have on the Sixers moving forward, although he has opportunity to play significant minutes behind Nerlens Noel in Philadelphia.
Thu Feb 19 201512:36McGee traded from Nuggets to 76ers on Thursday
McGee was traded from the Nuggets to the 76ers on Thursday, Yahoo! Sports reports.
The deal is ultimately a salary dump for the Nuggets, who will also send a 2015 protected first-round pick, which is owned via Oklahoma City, to Philadelphia. The Sixers will send back the rights to Cenk Akyol, a 2005 draftee who is unlikely to ever transition to the NBA. McGee is owed $11.3 million this season and $12 million in 2015-16, and it's unclear whether the Sixers are content to take on that salary, or if they will look to buy McGee out. In conjunction with the Arron Afflalo deal earlier Thursday, Denver has now created roughly $18 million in trade exceptions. As far as McGee's value is concerned, he should have an opportunity to see significant minutes in an underwhelming Philadelphia frontcourt, assuming the Sixers keep him around. That said, he's played in only 22 games over the past season-and-a-half, so his health may ultimately dictate how much fantasy value he holds down the stretch.
Mon Feb 9 201520:26McGee (illness) won't play Monday against Thunder
McGee (illness) won't play Monday against the Thunder, the Nuggets' official site reports.
Despite taking part in practice Sunday, McGee's absence will extend to four games as a result of an illness. In two contests prior to the malady, he averaged five points, three rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in 16 minutes. Meanwhile, consider him questionable for Tuesday's contest at the Lakers.
Sun Feb 8 201515:27JaVale McGee: (Illness) Expected To Play Monday
McGee (illness) practiced Sunday and is expected to play against the Thunder on Monday, the Denver Post reports.
McGee has been battling flu-like symptoms but is apparently feeling well enough to take the court Monday. Although, he's only played in three games since Nov. 23 and won't likely have a significant role in combating the Thunder.
Wed Feb 4 201518:33McGee (illness) will sit out Nuggets' next two games
McGee (illness) will sit out the Nuggets' next two games, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.
McGee is apparently dealing with a fairly serious illness and has been sent back to Denver to recover. That means he'll sit out Wednesday in Boston, as well as Friday in Detroit, before likely returning to the court Monday when the Nuggets host Oklahoma City. In two games since returning from a lower-leg injury, McGee has scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds in a total of 31 minutes.
Tue Feb 3 201518:02McGee dealing with illness and will miss Tuesday's game
McGee is dealing with an illness and will miss Tuesday's game, the Denver Post's Chris Dempsey reports.
He may be sent home to recover from the illness rather than stay with the team, so it seems highly unlikely that he plays in Wednesday's game either. Kenneth Faried and Darrell Arthur are also ill, but McGee seems to be the sickest player on the team.
Thu Jan 29 201523:28McGee (lower leg) came off bench in first game since Dec
McGee (lower leg) came off the bench in his first game since Dec. 5, and played 15 minutes, scoring two points (1-2 FG) and grabbing five boards.
Despite having a bad game Thursday, Jusuf Nurkic will likely stay the starter at center even though McGee will continue to see more playing time. In just 14 games this season, all off the bench, McGee is averaging 5.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks. Don't expect him to stay healthy, either. He's combined to play just 19 games between the past two season up until this point.
Thu Jan 29 201518:45McGee (lower leg) will be available off bench again Thursday
McGee (lower leg) will be available off the bench again Thursday, the Denver Post reports.
McGee was available Wednesday but didn't take the court due to a lack of practice. Coach Brian Shaw indicated that he likes the current rotation but acknowledged that McGee may be used due to the opposition in Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol.

McGee (leg) didn't get onto the court during Wednesday's win over the Pelicans.
Nuggets coach Brian Shaw cited a lack of practice time as the reason for keeping McGee out of the lineup. Denver plays again Thursday against the Grizzlies and Saturday against the Hornets, however, and the need to give the Nuggets' other bigs a breather should get McGee onto the court, even if it's just in a limited role.
Wed Jan 28 201518:57McGee (lower leg) will be active for Wednesday's game against Pe...
McGee (lower leg) will be active for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans, the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Chris Dempsey reports.
It has been a long time since we saw McGee in game action, but now that he is back, the expectation should be that he sees 10-20 minutes. Based on his shot-blocking ability, he should be monitored in most full-season leagues, but owners in daily formats should look elsewhere for production Wednesday.
Wed Jan 28 201513:45McGee (lower leg) could return to court Wednesday in New Orleans
McGee (lower leg) could return to the court Wednesday in New Orleans, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.
McGee has been nearing a return for quite some time, and it appears he's finally ready to get back on the court. Coach Brian Shaw said he'll make a decision this afternoon regarding McGee's status for Wednesday's game, but if he does not play Wednesday then he will definitely return Thursday against the Grizzlies. McGee has played just one game since Nov. 23 due to soreness and muscle aggravation in his leg, on which he had surgery last season.

McGee (lower leg) is expected to miss the next few games but is reportedly still improving, the Denver Post reports.
McGee has spent just 12 minutes on the court since Nov. 23 as he continues to recover from a lower leg injury. With this most recent news the 27-year-old should be considered out until further news is released.
Thu Jan 22 201515:46McGee (leg) took part in practice Thursday and nearing return
McGee (leg) took part in practice Thursday and is nearing a return, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.
McGee, who is battling soreness in his tibia, put in a full practice Thursday and is officially considered questionable for Friday's game against the Celtics. While it seems unlikely he plays Friday, the Nuggets expect him back on the court within the next few days, so Sunday against Washington and Monday against the Clippers look like more realistic possibilities. McGee, who hasn't played since early January, has seen time in just 14 games this season after playing just five last season. Once he's back to full health, he'll challenge J.J. Hickson and Darrell Arthur for minutes off the bench behind Jusuf Nurkic.

McGee hasn't played since December 5th due to a muscle aggravation in the leg in which he had a stress fracture last season.
McGee may see increased court time when he finally comes back from his injury, given the trade of Timofey Mozgov, but he's not someone to rely upon, given he played just 12 minutes a night prior to sitting out these last six weeks. McGee is an option in deeper leagues only at the moment.
Wed Jan 7 201521:14McGee (leg) roughly week away from returning
McGee (leg) is roughly a week away from returning, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.
McGee has been sidelined since early-December due to leg soreness, but could see the court as early as Jan. 14 in a best-case scenario. Due to the recent trade of Timofey Mozgov, McGee could take on significant minutes when ready, as Jusuf Nurkic is currently occupying the role of starting center.
Wed Dec 17 201408:36McGee (leg) expected to be out "significant" amount of time
McGee (leg) is expected to be out a "significant" amount of time, Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said, The Denver Post reports.
In the same report, Shaw said he heard at one point that McGee could miss up to six weeks with soreness in his tibia. There is still no official timetable for McGee, but it seems as if he'll at least be out for the remainder of 2015.
