Moss (hip) ran the bases Monday and continues to progress towards a return to game action, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. "He's been streaking along, actually," manager Terry Francona said. "It's hard to slow him down. He's passing every test they give him. Yesterday, he ran the bases. He's coming quick. I don't know the date he'll be in a game, but it's not going to be really far off."

Moss (hip) took his first batting practice session of the season Wednesday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Moss reportedly looked good doing it, hitting plenty of long balls to right field. The shift from Oakland to Cleveland should provide some relief as well, giving moss a more hitter-friendly park to hit in. He hasn't shown any effects of his hip as of yet, and is believed to be on track for Opening Day barring a setback.

Moss hasn't been able to participate in live batting practice sessions yet but hasn't had any issues in the cages yet. "Hitting has been the one thing that has surprised me the most. That's what hurt the most when everything started hurting. Hitting hasn't been the issue at all. It has felt amazing," he said. He's an interesting bounce back candidate if he can put last year's second half struggles and hip injury behind him.

Moss, who underwent hip surgery in October, is currently in the midst of a running and hitting program designed to strengthen his hip. At this point, it appears he's on track to be ready for Opening Day, barring a setback.

Moss (hip) has yet to pick up a bat this winter but has started a running program, MLB.com reports.
In light of his progress from October hip surgery, Moss appears on track to play in games at some point during spring training. He said that his goal is to be ready for Opening Day, but also acknowledged the need not to rush himself, saying "what is best for the team and myself is to be 100 percent." The 31-year-old struggled to a .584 OPS in the second half of 2014, but believes he'll be able to return to his pre-All-Star break form once completely healthy.
Fri Jan 16 201514:54Moss (hip) signed one-year
Moss (hip) signed a one-year, $6.5 million contract with the Indians on Friday, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.
Moss underwent offseason surgery to repair a torn right hip labrum in the offseason, and is now on the road to recovery that should lead to him being ready for the 2015 season. However, it is unclear if the injury will have any effect in his numbers, and his playing time could take a hit with the move. The 31-year-old will give the Indians depth in the infield and corner outfield, but he doesn't have a guaranteed everyday starting spot like he did with the Athletics last season.
Mon Dec 8 201412:46Brandon Moss: Traded To Indians
Moss (hip) was traded to the Indians for prospect Joey Wendle on Monday, Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan reports.
The return on the deal for Oakland is meager, especially considering Moss was an All-Star in 2014, and has hit 76 home runs over the past three seasons. However, the A's did not want to pay Moss in arbitration. In addition, his lack of defensive value and questions surrounding his ability to return at full strength following offseason hip surgery made Moss somewhat undesirable from Oakland's perspective. If he is healthy at the start of the season, Moss should be given a chance to play on a semi-regular basis, splitting time between first base and DH with Carlos Santana and Nick Swisher, while also being capable of handling a corner outfield spot. For fantasy purposes, Moss goes to a slightly better ballpark, but the biggest question remains his ability to make a full recovery from the surgery to repair his torn right hip labrum.

Moss underwent successful surgery to repair his torn right hip labrum on Thursday, reports Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle .
Moss is expected to started start running in three months, which should give him a decent chance to be ready for Spring Training. After a great first half with 21 homers and an .878 OPS, Moss put up a brutal four-homer, .582 OPS second half. If Moss is healthy for Spring Training, he could be a solid draft value assuming the second half struggles were due to the injury.
Wed Oct 8 201417:21Moss will undergo hip surgery on October 21st
Moss will undergo hip surgery on October 21st, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
The news was an expected development for Moss, who was prepared for surgery on his right hip after an MRI in September revealed torn cartilage and bone-on-bone issues. He was able to play through it for the rest of the season, but his status for the start of the 2015 season is unclear at this point.
Sat Sep 27 201419:23Brandon Moss: Added To Saturday's Lineup
Moss was added to the lineup as the DH for Saturday's game against the Rangers, MLB.com's Jane Lee reports.
Moss was not in the original lineup for the A's, but the Rangers scratched lefty Derek Holland (head) and are now starting righty Scott Baker, so A's manager switched from a righty-heavy lineup to a lefty-heavy one. Moss will bat cleanup and replace Jonny Gomes in left field.
Sat Sep 27 201416:45Moss not in lineup for Saturday's game against Rangers
Moss is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Moss owns a respectable .809 OPS against left-handers this season, but he will be held out as the A's employ a right-heavy lineup against Rangers starter Derek Holland. Jonny Gomes will get the start in left field, and Nate Freiman will open at first base.

Updating a previous report, Moss said Thursday that undergoing microfracture surgery on his right hip after the season would represent a "worst-case scenario," according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Moss will still require a procedure to address the bone-on-bone issue with his hip, but there's a possibility it can be rectified through minor surgical clean-up. However, if microfracture surgery is necessary, Moss' availability for the start of spring training could be impacted. While his potentially uncertain health entering 2015 makes him somewhat of a risky keeper option, Moss believes he'll be able to play close to everyday for the remainder of the regular season and postseason, after receiving a cortisone shot as a short-term pain-prevention measure.
Thu Sep 25 201411:20Brandon Moss: Hip Issue Will Require Surgery In Offseason
Moss will require microfracture surgery on his right hip this offseason, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Moss underwent an MRI prior to Wednesday's game, which revealed so much torn cartilage in his hip that he has bone-on-bone issues. He was treated with a cortisone shot, with the expectation being that he should be able to get through the rest of the season, but he added that the injection "won't fix it." While Moss did not want to blame his second-half slide on the injury, he did note that he doesn't have much range of motion or strength in the joint.
Wed Sep 24 201413:12Moss out of lineup Wednesday against Angels
Moss is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Angels.
Moss will join a left-handed heavy bench Wednesday with the lefty Hector Santiago on the mound for the Angels. Nate Freiman gets the start at first base and will bat sixth for the Athletics.
