Moss is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Angels, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Moss will ride the pine for a second straight day, with another lefty (Wade LeBlanc) toeing the rubber for the Angels. Another southpaw, Hector Santiago, is set to start Wednesday's finale for Anaheim, so Moss, who's batting .167/.265/.357 so far in September, may very well sit yet again.

Moss will take a day off Sunday with the left-handed Dallas Keuchel on the mound for the Astros. Nate Freiman will start at first base while Jonny Gomes will start in left for the Athletics.

With lefty Brett Oberholtzer on the hill for Houston, Moss will once again sit in favor of Nate Freiman at first base. It looks like Moss will remain in a strict platoon role for the foreseeable future, meaning he'll continue to sit whenever the team faces a southpaw.

The M's are trotting out a lefty in James Paxton, so manager Bob Melvin will stack his lineup with righty bats, with the starting nod at first base given to Nate Freiman. Moss went 0-for-3 Monday to lower his second-half line to .178/.316/.248, and it looks like he'll continue to play exclusively against right-handed pitching for the foreseeable future.

Moss was 0-for-2 on Friday night to further extend his post All-Star Break slump.

Moss cannot seem to get out of his slump and is now hitting under .200 in August after hitting only .233 in July. Moss had at least four homers in every month this season prior to August, but he has zero so far this month with only four RBI in 69 at-bats. Moss will continue to play against righties as the A's need his bat in the lineup, but fantasy owners have to think about benching him until he shows any signs of life.

The 30-year-old Moss has hit just .189/.308/.261 with two homers since the All-Star break, after posting an .879 OPS with 21 homers in the first half, and it appears as though he'll play exclusively against right-handers over the remainder of the season.

Moss is out of the lineup again Saturday.

The slumping Moss will once again start the game on the bench for the second straight game. He'll likely make a pinch hit appearance, but Moss has hit below the Mendoza line in the second half and has just two home runs in 28 games since the All-Star break. Nate Freiman will get the start at first base.

After a huge first half, where he hit 21 home runs and batted .268 in 89 games, Moss has been ice cold, hitting just .190 with two home runs in 27 games after the All-Star break. Nate Freiman will get the start at first base Friday in his stead.

Although Moss is batting .282/.356/.462 against lefties this season, he's batting just .213/.314/.303 since the All-Star break and manager Bob Melvin will likely continue to shield him from southpaws until he's fully back on track.

Moss continued his struggles on Wednesday, going 0-for-3 and now holds a 17 at-bat hitless streak.

After a great first half with 21 homers and 65 RBI that earned Moss his first All-Star berth, he has hit a very rough patch since the Break. Moss is 10-for-64, a mere .156 average, with two homers and six RBI since July 18. This slide should not affect Moss' playing time for now with the A's needing his bat in the middle of their order, but could lead to him sitting against almost all left-handers.

Moss is out of the lineup Tuesday versus the Rays.

After emerging from an outing July 26 with a .266/.345/.520 slash line, Moss has tallied two hits (both singles), one RBI, one run, and three walks versus 10 strikeouts in 28 at-bats. While he attempts to work out of his slump, newcomer Jonny Gomes is covering left field and batting cleanup.

Moss is not in the starting lineup Saturday against the Royals.

With lefty Jason Vargas on the mound for Kansas City, Moss will rest while Stephen Vogt covers first base, Alberto Callaspo handles the DH role, and Jonny Gomes gets the nod in left field.
