Travis injured himself during Tuesday's game but has said that he hopes to play through the issue, though the team has not disclosed the severity of the injury. The rookie missed 36 games earlier this season after sustaining a shoulder injury and it is not known if his latest setback is related. "Obviously, it's pretty frustrating," Travis said following Tuesday's game. "I'll do all that I can to play through this one." Travis underwent an MRI on Wednesday, and the results will help determine if he will be placed on the 15-day disabled list. Ryan Goins and Danny Valencia are candidates to see an increase in playing time while Travis is out.

Since returning from the disabled list, he's hitting for a .406/.412/.500 slash line and has raised his season average to .297. Travis went 2-for-3 with a run scored and was caught stealing in Monday's loss to the Red Sox.
Travis looks like he's rounding back into form after a more than month-long layoff thanks to a shoulder injury thanks to his first multi-hit game since April 27. His .826 OPS is fourth among second basemen with at least 150 plate appearances and is one of the most exciting, young middle infielders at the plate. Travis also has value as a base stealer, swiping 16 bags in the minors in 2014; however, he has just three attempts in the majors this season, going 2-for-3 after being caught for the first time on Monday.

Travis went 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored and a RBI in Sunday's win over the Rangers.
In his first series back, he went 2-for-10 at the plate with two runs scored. Travis also committed two errors Sunday, but still has a firm grasp on the starting second base role. He is still one of the most powerful second basemen, with the third highest slugging percentage of any second baseman with at least 100 at-bats. As he continues to pile up at-bats, he should get more and more comfortable at the plate.

Travis was 1-for-4 with one run scored in his return to the Toronto lineup Friday night.
Travis had been on the disabled list since May 17 with inflammation in his shoulder, but now that he's healthy he should see the majority of the work at second base going forward. He hit in the nine hole for this one, but he was a huge bright spot early in the season, and if he can pick up where he left off, he is likely to move up in the order fairly soon.

Travis will bat ninth in the order Friday in his return to the starting lineup, Barry Davis of Sportsnet reports.
The Jays will likely lean heavily on Travis now that he's healthy again, and it's reasonable to think that he'll push his way back up in the batting order if he can show a level of production similar to his pre-injury form.

Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis will bat ninth Friday against the Texas Rangers in his return from a shoulder injury, according to Sportsnet. Travis spent some time in the leadoff spot earlier this season while Jose Reyes was recovering from a foot injury, but will slide down in the lineup after hitting .219 over eight games on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo. Travis hit well after his initial call-up in April, but had an OPS of just .567 over 53 at-bats in May. “It’s a game of failure. It’s something you have to accept,” Travis told the Buffalo News. “However when you come back and things aren’t feeling right you start questioning, hey what’s going here? What’s going on there? I think the biggest thing that I’m learning every day in this game is that you’ve just got to take it for what it’s worth. You’ve got to come in, put in the work and once the game starts and the first pitch is thrown you’ve got to trust all your work and let it all happen.”

After a rocky rehab assignment that saw him bat .091 in three games in Double-A, Travis had by far his best rehab game in his final appearance. Before injuring his shoulder, he was hitting for a .271/.336/.504 slash line in 36 games and he hopes to pick up right where he left off upon his return. He will likely replace Ryan Goins in the starting lineup at second base.

Travis (shoulder) is expected to be activated from the disabled list Friday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports.
Travis started the season hot at the plate, and even drew some starts atop the Blue Jays' batting order. However, with Jose Reyes now healthy, it's unclear exactly where Travis would slot into the lineup upon his return. It will no longer be in the top four spots, but anywhere from fifth on down seems like a plausible spot.

Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis is expected to be activated from the disabled list Friday after recovering from a shoulder injury, according to Sportsnet.ca. Travis has not played in the majors since May 16 after being struck on the shoulder by a line drive, but has been playing in the minor leagues for over a week and is ready to return. Manager John Gibbons praised Travis' early-season impact and expressed confidence in the rookie. “He was struggling there at the end because of his shoulder before we finally sat him down, but for the longest time he was leading our team in RBIs,” said Gibbons. “He seemed to always be getting that big, big hit. He was in the bottom of the lineup and turning it over for those guys up top, was playing good defense – I mean, he was doing everything. We know we have a good player, hopefully he’s ready to go when we get him back.”
