LHP Gio Gonzalez snapped a seven-game winless streak against the Braves, giving up three hits, including two solo homers, over seven innings Wednesday. He struck out eight in beating the Braves for the first time since Sept. 5, 2015. He was 0-3 with a 6.81 ERA over the winless stretch, which included an 8-0 loss on Sept. 12 at Washington.

Gonzalez also kicked in a vesting option for next year when he fanned the first batter of the game. That gave him 180 innings pitched this year, kicking in the 2018 option.

LHP Gio Gonzalez saw his five-game winning streak come to an end Thursday after allowing five runs on eight hits over six innings in a 6-3 loss at Milwaukee.
