Sun Jul 6 201418:05Ruggiano collects two more hits against Nats
Justin Ruggiano went 2-for-4 with a double and a walk in Sunday's loss to the Nationals.
Ruggiano has been red hot at the plate of late, as Sunday was his fourth straight multi-hit game and his sixth in his last eight starts. The double was his 10th, and he's hitting .286/.364/.476 overall. He's certainly an NL-only asset, and his ability to do a bit of everything makes him a consideration in deeper mixed leagues when he's getting regular playing time.

Thu Jul 3 201400:35Justin Ruggiano homers, knocks in five in win
Justin Ruggiano went 3-for-6 with a homer and five RBI in the Cubs' 16-9 defeat of the Red Sox on Wednesday.
The Red Sox kicked a field goal in the ninth, but it merely brought them to within a touchdown. Ruggiano, Mike Olt, Wilkin Castillo and Nate Schierholtz all homered for the Cubs in a 19-hit game. Every starter scored a run, and only Anthony Rizzo failed to drive in a run. It was Ruggiano's first career five-RBI game. He'll probably parlay it into more starts against right-handers in the coming days.

Mon Jun 23 201423:47Justin Ruggiano goes 0-for-4 in loss
Justin Ruggiano went 0-for-4 on Monday and is in a 0-for-15 slump over the last week.
The Cubs just haven't been able to cobble together much of an outfield this year, particularly with Nate Schierholtz struggling so mightily. Ruggiano should really only be in there against lefties, but he was starting against another righty tonight. Since he's not stealing bases -- he's 0-for-3 this year -- he doesn't have much to offer fantasy leaguers.

Justin Ruggiano homered and drove home three runs, powering the Cubs to a 10-8 victory over the Brewers in Cactus League action on Sunday.
