INF Ryan Goins made his first start since Wednesday pay off on Monday when he homered and doubled and put down a sacrifice bunt in the 4-2 victory over the New York Yankees. Between starts, he played one inning defensively on Saturday. "He hasn't played a lot lately," manager John Gibbons said. "He seemed relaxed and confident. Ryan has been struggling for a while but he's a better hitter than that. He had a few days off and relaxed and came through for us." Despite the good game, Goins is batting .165 with three homers and nine RBIs.

INF Ryan Goins started at shortstop Friday with SS Troy Tulowitzki, who is struggling at the plate, given a rest.

2B Ryan Goins hit his first home run since Sept. 1, 2015 and the ninth of his career. The home run came off Rays reliever Jhan Marinez after Goins struck out twice against Rays LHP Drew Smyly.

2B Ryan Goins was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs in the 7-2 win over the New York Yankees on Wednesday. It is the first time he has had multiple extra-base hits in a game since Sept. 5 when he had two doubles against the Baltimore Orioles.

2B Ryan Goins went 2-for-4 hitting in the No. 9 slot in the Jays' lineup, raising his season average to .250. Any production from him would be a boost for a Toronto batting lineup that gets so much from the top of the order.

Goins is out of the lineup Thursday, SportsNet's Shi Davidi reports.

The Jays are resting all of their regulars for Thursday's day game, with Jonathan Diaz getting the start at shortstop.

Goins got on base all six times up Wednesday, going 5-for-5 with four singles, a double, a walk, an RBI and three runs in a 15-2 rout of the Orioles.

That's as many hits as Goins picked up in his last nine games put together. He's been seeing everyday playing time lately, but entered Wednesday's action hitting only .235 in September. It was a nice day, but there's not much to see here from a fantasy perspective.

Goins was 2-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI in Toronto's win over Boston on Friday night.

He logged a triple and contributed to a balanced Blue Jays' attack. Goins has just five home runs and 41 RBI with a .248 average in part-time duty, but injuries have kept him on the field for much of the season, and with Troy Tulowitzki and Devon Travis hurt, he is likely to see fairly regular duty through the end of the year.

Goins is out of the lineup Tuesday, Barry Davis of SportsNet reports.

Goins will get the day off as the Jays go with Cliff Pennington at second base.

Goins went 2-for-4 in Thursday's loss to the Rangers.

On a night where the Jays went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position, Goins was the only one who came through in the clutch; however, he was unable to knock in a run. The utility infielder has seen increased playing time with Devon Travis still injured; however, his .235/.311/.338 slash line and zero stolen bases aren't much to write home about.

Goins hit a three-run homer in his first at-bat, then struck out in the other two against the A's on Thursday.

After that first at-bat, Goins had already done enough, as the homer put Toronto ahead for good. The 27-year-old middle infielder has been getting everyday playing time in the Jays' powerful offense, but he doesn't offer much with the bat.

Goins had a strong day at the plate Monday, going 2-for-4 with a home run.

The second baseman has struggled on the whole this season, but has now reached base in six straight and has scored seven runs in that span. With Devon Travis on the disabled list Goins has assumed the starting second base job despite his .228 batting average.

Goins will earn a seventh consecutive start Sunday against the Royals, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet reports.

Goins is back in a regular role for the Blue Jays after Devon Travis was placed on the DL prior to the weekend with a shoulder injury. As a glove-first player with a .220 average on the season and a spot near the bottom of the Toronto lineup, Goins shouldn't be counted on to provide much fantasy utility.

Goins went 2-for-3 with a double, a RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's victory over the Phillies.

With Devon Travis and Troy Tulowitzki occupying the two middle infield spots, Goins finds himself without a regular source of at-bats. With Travis out of the lineup with a shoulder injury, Goins got a chance to show that he can be the answer if Travis misses any real time with this injury. Coming into Wednesday night, Goins' last hit came nearly three weeks prior and a multi-hit game might be enough to prod him toward better production when called upon.

Goins will start in left field and bat ninth Monday against Boston.

After seeing just one start since June 21, Goins will play left field for just the second time this season to get him in the lineup. While he's hitting just .222, the 27-year-old has shown versatility that the Jays covet while finding ways to give him at-bats in any way they can.

Goins went 2-for-2 with two walks in Wednesday's victory over the Mets.

While his days are numbered as the everyday second baseman with Devon Travis on a rehab assignment, Goins is certainly making the most of his final days as the starter. With performances like Wednesday's where he gets on base four times, he should find a way to remain on the roster as a utility infielder to spell Travis and Jose Reyes.

Goins tied a career high with five RBIall of which came with two outsand hit his second home run of the season. With Devon Travis beginning his rehab assignment, Goins' time as the starting second baseman is running out. However, he's proven himself as a good defensive option and should spell both Travis and Jose Reyes, though his fantasy value dips significantly without consistent playing time.

Goins will get the night off Monday against the Marlins.

Goins has struggled significantly this past week, going 1-for-16 in his last six games and could use a night off. Munenori Kawasaki will get the start at second base instead and could push Goins for the full-time role until Devon Travis' return from injury.

Goins went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Astros.

Goins is now 1-for-16 over the past two series and has looked extremely out-of-sorts at the plate. With Devon Travis still out of the lineup, Goins will likely remain the everyday second baseman; however, he's done little to push for at-bats upon Travis' return.

Goins went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Tuesday's 10-2 victory over the Orioles.

Known more for his defense, Goins has filled in admirably in the absence of Jose Reyes. He's now hitting .246 on the season, which is markedly higher than his career average of .220. Upon Reyes' return, Goins will likely return to a backup role where he will see time as a defensive replacement and to spell Reyes and Devon Travis at the middle infield spots. Even as the starter, Goins has limited fantasy value due his lack of power, inability to consistently get on base or speed as he currently has no home runs or stolen bases on the season.
