Angels optioned RHP Kevin Jepsen to Triple-A Salt Lake.
The move was made to clear space for RHP Ernesto Frieri, who was acquired from the Padres on Thursday. Similarly ineffective in 2011, Jepsen could find himself camped out at Triple-A for an extended period of time.
