Peter Bourjos will undergo season-ending surgery on Tuesday to repair his injured right wrist.
The 26-year-old outfielder has dealt with an array of injuries in what was expected to be his breakout season. He finishes the 2013 campaign hitting .274/.333/.377 with three homers, 12 RBI and six stolen bases in just 175 at-bats. He should be fully recovered in time for spring training.

Peter Bourjos won't hit for the rest of this season due to lingering discomfort in his right wrist.
Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times tweets that Bourjos is "likely" to have surgery at some point to insert a pin into that fractured wrist. Bourjos will only be able to play defense and pinch-run down the stretch if the Angels opt to postpone the procedure. He can be dropped in all redraft-style fantasy leagues.

It's possible, though, that he could return sometime during the four-game series against the Yankees. Bourjos is still feeling pain in his right wrist but will attempt to play through it.

Peter Bourjos will not return before August after X-rays on his right wrist showed that the bone isn't completely healed yet.
Bourjos has been able to only throw and run but isn't ready to swing a bat yet. "It's better than it was, but it's still sore," Bourjos said Thursday. "The doctor looked at the X-rays and didn't see a whole lot of healing. He said to hold off on hitting."

Bourjos has yet to be cleared for hitting activities and will undergo further tests on Friday. He has been limited to a throwing program since being placed on the DL last month and remains without a timetable to return.

Peter Bourjos (wrist) has begun running and will start hitting and throwing next week.
Bourjos hasn't played since fracturing his right wrist on June 29. There's still no timetable for his return, but if the ramping up of baseball activities goes well he could start a rehab assignment shortly after the All-Star break. The outfielder is hitting .333/.392/.457 in 129 at-bats this year.

Angels placed OF Peter Bourjos on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured right wrist.
Bourjos suffered the injury when he was hit by a pitch on Saturday. The fracture is non-displaced, so it could have been worse, but he'll be sidelined at least 2-3 weeks. The Angels will use Mike Trout in center field and J.B. Shuck in left while Bourjos is on the shelf.

Bourjos missed four games this week because of a jammed left thumb. He is again considered day-to-day. J.B. Shuck replaced him in the Angels' lineup Saturday.
