Sat Apr 20 201301:20Bourjos has three hits, three RBI in win
Peter Bourjos went 3-for-4 with a three-run triple and a run scored in Friday's win over the Tigers.
Bourjos had three hits combined over his previous six games, so this was nice to see. The 26-year-old is not a good fit for the leadoff spot with Erick Aybar (heel) sidelined, but he has enough pop and speed to be interesting in deeper mixed leagues.

Peter Bourjos had a pair of hits, including his second spring home run, in a losing effort against the Mariners on Friday afternoon.
Bourjos finished the contest 2-for-3. He enters the season as the Angels everyday starter in center field, and has come out of the gate strong this spring, hitting .364 (12-for-33) with two homers, nine RBI and a steal through 12 games. He possesses a dynamic combination of power and speed that makes him a very attractive target in the later rounds of fantasy drafts.

Peter Bourjos launched his first Cactus League homer and added a single in Wednesday's loss to the Padres.
The two-run shot came off of left-hander Clayton Richard. Bourjos is now batting .333 with a homer, three triples and eight RBI this spring. He's only a career .247/.301/.402 hitter but offers an intriguing mix of power and speed that makes him a late-round option in fantasy leagues.

Fri Mar 1 201319:44Bourjos delievers bases-loaded triple in win
Peter Bourjos knocked in three runs with a bases-loaded triple in Friday's 16-8 win over the Dodgers.
It was part of a seven-run third inning for the Angels. After spending last season as a reserve outfielder, Bourjos is expected to serve as the club's starting center fielder in 2013. His batting average is unlikely to be a strength, but his power-speed combo should prove useful in deeper mixed fantasy leagues.

Bourjos was limited to just 195 plate appearances this season and could be a popular trade target this winter.

Bourjos took Aaron Harang deep for a two-run bomb in the second. It was just his second home run of the season. Strictly a part-time player for the time being, Bourjos and his .229/.291/.324 slash are off the radar in mixed leagues.

Peter Bourjos is in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Diamondbacks.
Bourjos hasn't started for the Angels since June 6, and doesn't currently have a defined role. "He's handling [his limited role] as well as you can," manager Mike Scioscia said. "He's waiting for an opportunity to contribute. It's obviously not an easy situation, but he's going to stay ready."

Sun Jun 10 201216:34Report: Angels won't deal or demote Bourjos
Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports that the Angels don't intend to trade or demote Peter Bourjos.
Moving Bourjos would clear up the logjam in the Angels outfield, but the Angels like having him around as quality depth. "Peter has a role on our team, and he's going to help us win games, although it's not a role he had last year," said Angels manager Mike Scioscia. While Los Angeles could get a decent return by trading their speedy young outfielder, they probably believe Bourjos will be a regular again in 2013.

Wed May 23 201213:06Bourjos not in Wednesday's lineup
Peter Bourjos is out of the Angels' starting lineup Wednesday afternoon.
Kole Calhoun will make his first major league start in left field and bat eighth. It's a good time to work the rookie into the mix, but we expect Bourjos to get an uptick in playing time with Vernon Wells (thumb) injured and Torii Hunter away from the team.

Fri May 11 201219:07Angels not actively shopping Bourjos
According to Angels GM Jerry Dipoto, the team is "not actively shopping him or looking for a fit for" Bourjos.
Dipoto continued calling Bourjos an asset to the team. While this may dispell some of the hoopla surrounding the proposed Bourjos to Washington rumors, where there's smoke there's usually fire. Don't be surprised if Bourjos is still moved at some point this summer, clearing up the logjam in the Angels outfield.

Fri May 11 201215:01Bourjos trade no likelier than it was before
Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com was told be a "high-ranking Angels source" that there's no more truth to the Peter Bourjos-to-the-Nationals rumor now than there was in the offseason.
And, Gonzalez says there was "zero" chance of it happening then. The Angels are reportedly talking to multiple teams about the speedy outfielder, but it appears that no deal is close and might be a longshot to happen. Bourjos' playing time has been curtailed big-time lately, but the Angels also likely having him as depth.

Thu May 10 201223:40Nats, Angels have discussed Bourjos trade
According to Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com, the Nationals and Angels have had preliminary discussions about a trade that would send Peter Bourjos to Washington.
It's not clear how far along they are in talks, but the Angels have a surplus of outfielders and the Nationals have been looking for a center fielder for a long time. The Angels would like a relief pitcher in return, but the Nationals would be more comfortable parting with one once Drew Storen (elbow) returns from the disabled list. They may also be in the market for a catcher now that Chris Iannetta will miss 6-8 weeks following wrist surgery. The Royals, Diamondbacks and Blue Jays also have checked on the availability of Bourjos.

Thu May 10 201212:47Bourjos has just two starts in last 11 games
Peter Bourjos was not in the lineup for the ninth time in 11 games on Wednesday.
Releasing Bobby Abreu didn't really relieve the logjam in the Angels' outfield, as the April 27 promotion of Mike Trout merely added a superior player. Bourjos has been the biggest victim of that transaction. The 25-year-old speedster -- who also happens to be elite defensively -- is batting just .192/.259/.288. One wonders if LA would consider moving him to one of baseball's many clubs with a need for a center fielder. Snagging splinters instead of line drives seems like a waste of his ample talent. On the other hand, management justifiably enjoys having a nice outfield insurance policy on the roster with old men Vernon Wells and Torii Hunter manning the corners.
