Rivera is not in the lineup Thursday against the Twins, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports.
After Curt Casali was placed on the disabled list Wednesday, manager Kevin Cash indicated Rivera would be in line to see the majority of the starts behind the plate, so this is likely just a regular day off after starting two of the past three games. J.P. Arencibia will draw the start Thursday in his place.

Manager Kevin Cash said Wednesday that Rivera will receive the majority of the playing time at catcher following Curt Casali's (hamstring) placement on the 15-day DL, the Associated Press reports.
The Rays promoted J.P. Arencibia from Triple-A Durham to take Casali's spot on the roster, but Rivera's greater impact as a defender likely influenced Cash's decision to stick with the incumbent player as his regular catcher. While his ability to frame pitches and control the run game are useful from a real-life perspective, Rivera has been one of the league's worst fantasy backstops this season, producing a .216 on-base percentage, five homers, and 26 RBI over 292 plate appearances.

Rivera is out of the lineup again for Saturday's game against the Red Sox, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports.
This will be Rivera's fifth day off in six games, so it's almost safe to say Curt Casali and his incredible hot streak have taken the starting job now for now. It's a wonder Rivera was able to keep the starting job as long as he did, considering his line currently sits at .174/.208/.285.

Rivera is not in the lineup Sunday against the Orioles, Matt Baker of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Rivera will sit for the second straight game, with manager Kevin Cash once again electing to use Curt Casali behind the plate. Rivera is in the midst of a 1-for-16 slump, and continues to be an offensive liability, posting a .176 batting average through 238 at-bats this season. Casali hasn't been significantly better (.225), however, so consider Rivera the primary backstop until further notice.

Rivera isn't in Wednesday's lineup against the Indians, Roger Mooney of The Tampa Tribune reports.
Considering Rivera's meager .165/.204/.280 batting line through 67 games this season, it's not a big surprise that he's seeing more consistent days off than most primary catchers. He hasn't lived up to what the Rays envisioned after they traded for him in the offseason, as he's nearing career-low numbers in many categories.
Fri Jun 26 201513:45Rivera not in lineup for Friday's game against Red Sox
Rivera is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox, 620 WDAE's Steve Carney reports.
Following an off day, Curt Casali will make a second straight start behind the plate. The Rays don't value Rivera for his offense, but he's been so bad in the batter's box that the team may start giving Casali more playing time, although it wouldn't necessarily be an upgrade. With a .162/.203/.262 slash line through 205 plate appearances, Rivera hasn't been able to build on his surprisingly strong finish to last season.

Rivera is out of the lineup Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
It's probably just a standard day off for Rivera, who has seen his backup switch from Bobby Wilson to Curt Casali. Given the lack of quality backups, Rivera has some wiggle room to get his performance at the plate back up before he has to worry about lost playing time.

Rivera had just his second multi-hit game of the season Thursday, going 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI.
Rivera has had a very disappointing 2015 so far, but he's bound to get better as the season progresses. Even though there have been drops in line drive rate and hard-hit balls, Rivera's .176 BABIP should be in store for some positive regression.
