Norris had an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth inning and a solo homer in the sixth. This was his first multi-hit games since July 2. However, there's little reason to pick him up outside of AL-only fantasy leagues.

CSN's Paul Gutierrez worked it out before the game, and the A's are scheduled to face righties their next 16 games in a row, which is bad news for Norris, Adam Rosales and Nate Freiman and good news for John Jaso, Eric Sogard and Brandon Moss.

Sat Aug 4 201219:48Derek Norris plates lone run with RBI double
Derek Norris provided all of the A's offense on Saturday against the Blue Jays, smacking an RBI double.
Norris also drew a walk . Though he's hitting just .198 with three homers and 12 RBI in 85 at-bats on the season, the young catcher is taking over as the A's primary backstop with Kurt Suzuki now in Washington. Norris is worthy of ownership in two-catcher formats due to his potential power production, though the average isn't likely to be very good.

Fri Aug 3 201215:06Derek Norris will be A's regular catcher
The Athletics are expected to go with Derek Norris as their starting catcher following the trade of Kurt Suzuki to the Nationals.
George Kottaras should also see plenty of playing time, but Norris is the team's future at catcher, and they've decided to roll with him now. The 23-year-old is batting just .195/.262/.325 over 21 games with the A's this season but has hit three homers and has above-average pop for a catcher. He should be owned in deeper mixed formats.
