Mon Mar 17 201413:40Bourn (hamstring) a question mark for opener
Michael Bourn (hamstring) will miss at least the next week and is questionable for Opening Day.
Bourn was removed from Sunday's game with tightness in his left hamstring. The Indians are calling the ailment minor, but it's certainly a concern after the outfielder had surgery on the same hamstring last October. Bourn also has yet to attempt a stolen base this spring. Michael Brantley would surely shift over to center field if Bourn isn't ready.

Sun Mar 16 201417:12Bourn leaves game with mild hamstring injury
Michael Bourn was removed from Sunday's Cactus League game against the Giants with mild tightness in his left hamstring.
The Indians are saying that he was removed for precautionary reasons and that he'll be re-evaluated on Monday. For a player who derives a large portion of his value from his legs, any sign of hamstring trouble could be a big problem.

Tue Mar 11 201419:02Bourn goes 2-for-3 against the D'Backs
Michael Bourn went 2-for-3 against the D'Backs on Tuesday.
Bourn singled twice, bumping his average up to .211. He hasn't had a great spring and he is still in search of his first extra-base hit. He stole 40-plus bases for five years running between 2008-12, but stole only 23 in 35 attempts last season, due in part to a .316 on-base percentage. Unless he can get on base more frequently, his days of being a top-tier base-stealer may be over.

Wed Oct 2 201315:26Bourn (calf) good to go for Wild Card game
Michael Bourn (calf) is in the starting lineup in Wednesday's Wild Card game against the Rays.
Bourn left Sunday's regular season finale with a tight left calf, but it's not serious enough to keep him sidelined in Wednesday's do-or-die contest. He'll bat leadoff in the Wild Card game and will be followed by Nick Swisher, Jason Kipnis, Carlos Santana, Michael Brantley, Ryan Raburn, Asdrubal Cabrera, Yan Gomes, and Lonnie Chisenhall. The inclusion of Chisenhall over Mike Aviles is a minor surprise. Danny Salazar will be on the mound for the Indians while Alex Cobb will pitch for the Rays.

Bourn also scored three of the Indians' four runs in the game, giving him 49 on the year. He hasn't run as much as usual this year, having stolen just 16 bases in 81 games, but games like Saturday's remind that he's still one of the fastest players in the league.
