Bourn, who is expected to sit out again against the left-handed Danny Duffy on Wednesday, could see limited action against southpaws following the return of Nick Swisher, MLB.com reports.

Bourn struggled against southpaws last season (.569 OPS in 143 at-bats) and has just a .566 OPS in 37 at-bats against them this season. Look for him to sit against most lefties in the coming weeks until he can turn things around at the plate.

Bourn is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Kansas City, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.

Bourn missed Saturday's game against Toronto because of a cervical strain, but he returned to the lineup Sunday. It's quite possible his absence from Tuesday's lineup has nothing to do with the injury, as the Indians are facing a left-handed pitcher, and Nick Swisher (knees) is back from the disabled list.

Bourn (neck) is back in the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.

Bourn was a late scratch Saturday due to neck stiffness, but the team was optimistic he'd be able to return to action Sunday. Barring any setbacks during warmups, that will be the case, as Bourn is currently listed as the starting center fielder, batting ninth in the order.

The Indians are hopeful that Bourn (neck) will be able to play Sunday, MLB.com reports. "I think he'll be good to go tomorrow. His neck was stiff. He was examined and everything. I think we thought that one day would do him a lot of good," manager Terry Francona said.

Bourn suffered the injury sliding into home in Friday's game. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Bourn has a cervical strain and was scratched from Saturday's lineup.

This is the first we've heard of Bourn's injury and it's not clear if he will miss more than just one game. Tyler Holt will get the start in center field and hit ninth.

Bourn will be dropped to the ninth spot in the order in Sunday's game against the Tigers.

The presence of a lefty on the mound for the opposition in Kyle Lobstein likely influenced manager Terry Francona's decision to bump Bourn to the bottom of the lineup Sunday, but even in more favorable matchups this season, the outfielder has failed to performance. Saturday's two-strikeout, 0-for-4 performance dropped Bourn's season line to .180/.213/.254, with only one stolen base coming along with it. Should those struggles continue, Bourn could become a mainstay in the ninth spot in the lineup, depressing his run totals and stolen-base opportunities.

Bourn is not in the lineup Monday against the White Sox, Doug Padilla of ESPN Chicago reports.

Bourn has struggled out of the gate with a .200/.265/.244 slash line and has yet to get a day off this season, but he'll stay on the bench as the Indians take on southpaw John Danks. Mike Aviles will fill in at center field in his stead, batting second.

The Indians aren't concerned that Bourn has just one stolen base attempt this spring, MLB.com reports. "I think he feels like he's equipped to go out there and play the way he wants to," manager Terry Francona said. "The last thing we're going to tell a nine-year veteran is, 'Hey, run, and beat yourself up.' We have talked to him about [the lack of stolen bases], but he said he feels good."

Bourn is coming off an injury-filled season last year and needs to incorporate the stolen base back into his game if he wants to reward his fantasy owners but it sounds like we'll have to wait until the regular season to get a feel for how much he'll run.

Bourn hit his first homer of the spring Friday, raising his average to .500 (8-for-16) in Cactus League play.

Spring training stats are largely meaningless but Bourn hasn't had any injury setbacks thus far as he looks to bounce back from a pair of injury-filled seasons.

The Indians want Bourn to re-establish himself as a major base-stealing threat this season, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Bourn is just 33-of-51 on stolen-base attempts through two seasons with the Indians, after swiping at least 40 bags each year from 2008 to 2012. While he recently turned 32, there's still some hope for a revival, given that Bourn's balky hamstring was a major factor in his lack of base-stealing success last season. A return to the days of 40-60 steals is overly optimistic, but an improvement on last season's 10 shouldn't be difficult, assuming Bourn stays reasonably healthy.

Bourn is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

The veteran Bourn will give way to youngster Tyler Holt on the final day of the season. He will end the season having started just 105 of a possible 162 games, his lowest total since 2007.

Bourn is out of the lineup Friday against the White Sox.

Bourn has started 18 straight games for the Indians since coming off the DL, but with lefty Chris Sale on the hill for the White Sox, manager Terry Francona will take the opportunity to get Bourn a rest. Tyler Holt takes over in center field and atop the order for Bourn, who is batting .260 with two steals in five attempts since his return.

Bourn collected three hits, including a pair of triples, and scored a run in Thursday's 3-2 win over the White Sox.

Bourn has at least two hits in three straight games, and is hitting .272 on the season. He's got just eight steals in 13 attempts this year, however, so don't count on him in that category the rest of the way.

Bourn drew a pair of walks and stole a base Sunday.

Bourn was back in the lineup for the second consecutive game after returning from a hamstring injury and appears to be all systems go for the upcoming week. The Indians have a scheduled day off Monday and Bourn may get another day off during the week as he ramps back up but he's a good bet to see lots of action this week.

Bourn walked and scored a run in his return to the lineup Saturday.

Bourn was activated from the DL on Friday but saw his first action in nearly six weeks Saturday. The Indians have an off day Monday so expect Bourn back in the lineup Sunday. He'll work his way back into the regular leadoff hitter for the Tribe in short order.

Bourn is out of the lineup Friday against the Orioles.

Although Bourn was activated from the DL, he will not immediately return to the lineup Friday with the Orioles trotting out a lefty in Wei-Yin Chen. He will almost certainly return to the lineup Saturday against right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez, likely pushing Michael Brantley back to left field and Jason Kipnis out of the leadoff spot.

Bourn (hamstring) was activated from the 15-day DL on Friday, Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Bourn missed close to six weeks with his most recent hamstring concern, but he's been cleared to return following a successful minor league rehab assignment. The 31-year-old has hit .267/.316/.379 this season while going 7-for-10 on the basepaths, and while he figures to immediately return to the leadoff spot, his opportunities to steal may remain limited until he can prove he's regained his first-step burst.

Bourn (hamstring) is expected to be activated from the DL on Friday, Fox Sports Ohio reports.

The plan is for Bourn, who will DH at Triple-A Columbus on Thursday as part of his rehab assignment, to be in the Indians' lineup Friday and Saturday before resting Sunday. While he hasn't performed overly well while on rehab, he hasn't experienced any hamstring discomfort, which is obviously the team's primary concern. Bourn, who has not played since July 5, was hitting .267 with 21 RBI and seven steals before hitting the DL.

Bourn (hamstring) may receive clearance to return to action this weekend versus the Orioles, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

In four rehab games between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus, Bourn has mustered a single hit and no other counting stats in 14 at-bats. Perhaps avoiding a setback is the sole caveat for activation from the disabled list, but his ability at the plate doesn't inspire confidence in his offense off the bat.
