OF Keon Broxton and RHP Trey Supak were acquired by the Brewers from the Pirates on Thursday in exchange for INF Jason Rogers.Broxton, 25, earned his first major league call-up in September, when he went 0-for-2 at the plate and 1-for-2 on stolen-base attempts in seven games. He hit .273/.357/.438 with 10 homers, 68 RBIs and 39 stolen bases in 133 games between Double-A and Triple-A this year.The Pirates acquired Broxton in a cash deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks in March 2014.

Broxton batted just .231/.296/.359 in 101 games last season at the Double-A level. The 23-year-old was a third-round pick in the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft and the Bucs will hope that he fares better with a change of scenery.

He's now off the 40-man roster. Broxton had a rough go of it in his first taste of Double-A this season, batting .231/.296/.359 with eight homers over 101 games.

Diamondbacks purchased the contract of OF Keon Broxton from High-A Visalia.
Broxton made some nice progress at the plate this season, hitting .267/.326/.437 with 19 home runs, 62 RBI, 21 stolen bases and a .763 OPS. The toolsy 22-year-old should begin the 2013 season in Double-A.
