OF Keon Broxton and RHP Trey Supak were acquired by the Brewers from the Pirates on Thursday in exchange for INF Jason Rogers.Broxton, 25, earned his first major league call-up in September, when he went 0-for-2 at the plate and 1-for-2 on stolen-base attempts in seven games. He hit .273/.357/.438 with 10 homers, 68 RBIs and 39 stolen bases in 133 games between Double-A and Triple-A this year.The Pirates acquired Broxton in a cash deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks in March 2014.

Broxton was called up to the majors Monday, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune reports.

Broxton split time between Double-A and Triple-A this season, racking up 10 home runs and 39 steals between both levels. He may see some opportunities down the stretch, but any playing time will likely be limited.

Pirates acquired OF Keon Broxton from the Diamondbacks for a player to be named later.

Broxton batted just .231/.296/.359 in 101 games last season at the Double-A level. The 23-year-old was a third-round pick in the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft and the Bucs will hope that he fares better with a change of scenery.

Broxton made some nice progress at the plate this season, hitting .267/.326/.437 with 19 home runs, 62 RBI, 21 stolen bases and a .763 OPS. The toolsy 22-year-old should begin the 2013 season in Double-A.
