Thu Jul 9 201512:14Huston Street: (Groin) May Be Out Through All-Star Break
Street could be unavailable until after the All-Star break after tweaking his left groin in Wednesday's game, the Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher reports. "I don't think it's that bad," Street said after the game. "I've had it in the past where I can't walk around. Worse comes to worst, if I can't be back by the Seattle series, we still have the All-Star break."
He felt something in his left groin after his final pitch while recording a save Thursday and will be re-evaluated when the Angels play this weekend in Seattle. Based on his comments it sounds like Street could be good to go to start the second half, but owners should be prepared to be without him this weekend. Joe Smith is the likely fill-in closer while Street is sidelined.

Los Angeles Angels pitcher Huston Street could be unavailable until after the All-Star break after tweaking his left groin in Wednesday's game against the Colorado Rockies, according to the Orange County Register. Street felt something after throwing the final pitch to record his 24th save Wednesday, and he appears unlikely to be available for Thursday's game at the Seattle Mariners at the least. “I don’t think it’s that bad,” Street said after the game. “I’ve had it in the past where I can’t walk around. Worse comes to worst, if I can’t be back by the Seattle series, we still have the All-Star break.” Street later told MLB.com, "The night of it, it's really tough to tell. (Thursday), we'll have a much better answer to the question." Joe Smith would likely be the closer should Street be unavailable. Street has a 2.27 ERA and 36 strikeouts over 35.2 innings this year.

Street appears to have righted the ship after suffering back-to-back blown saves, recording two over the last two games. The 31-year-old was bound to see his ERA rise a bit after securing unsustainable strand rates over the last two seasons, but he should still see plenty of save opportunities behind mike Trout and the Angels' offense.

An ugly outing for Street, who nearly let the A's complete a comeback from a 6-0 deficit, but considering this is the first run he's allowed all year and he nailed down the save anyway, his fantasy owners have to still be thrilled by what they've gotten from the 31-year-old closer.
