Nelson came out of Tuesday's loss to the Sixers with soreness in his Achilles. While he'll dress for Wednesday's game, he won't play and should be considered questionable for Friday's matchup with the Pistons in Detroit.

Nelson was back in a bench role Sunday with Ty Lawson (personal) back in action. Nelson put up nine points (3-4 FG, 3-4 3Pt), one rebound, four assists, and one steal in 14 minutes.

Nelson has played well since joining the Nuggets, but he's been shooting 51 percent from the field, which is far off the 37 percent he's averaging for the season, pointing to a likely decline in production for Nelson. It's also suspect that the Nuggets would bring in a veteran backup point guard at a time when they appear highly unlikely to fight for a playoff spot. If the team ever decides to focus on the future this season, Nelson would be at risk of getting benched in favor of playing a younger guard. Pass him up in standard leagues.

Nelson started in place of Ty Lawson (personal) against the Celtics on Friday. During 42 minutes on the court, Nelson recorded 23 points (9-20 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven assists, and one steal.

Lawson was arrested under suspicion of DUI early Friday morning and it's still unclear how the NBA will proceed with his situation. If Lawson misses anymore time, Nelson is a great play in daily leagues and could have some short-term relevancy in seasonal leagues.

Ty Lawson is out Friday after getting arrested Friday morning on suspicion of DUI. While Lawson is expected back for the Nuggets' next game, the league could levy a suspension against Lawson, in which case Nelson could get a few more starts. He makes for a solid daily league option Friday.

Nelson scored 14 points and had five assists in 25 minutes Monday against the Warriors.

Nelson is putting up great numbers as the backup to Ty Lawson, as he's now scored at least 14 points in each of his three games in Denver. Over that span, he's averaging 5.3 assists and also making 2.0 three-pointers per game.

Nelson made his debut with the Nuggets on Friday in a loss to the Mavericks, scoring 14 points (5-14 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-3 FT) and dishing out seven assists before fouling out of the game.

Since Nate Robinson was sent to the Celtics (and eventually bought out) in the Nelson trade, Nelson is the definitive backup point guard for the Nuggets. This is the third team Nelson has been on this season, and has been fairly ineffective at each stop. In six games with the Celtics, he shot just 22 percent from the floor, and with the Mavericks to start the season, he averaged 7.3 points per game while averaging 7.1 shots.

Nelson will be in uniform to play against the Mavericks on Friday, the Denver Post reports.

Nelson managed to pass his physical and will be set to make his debut for Denver on Friday. However, he'll come off the bench behind Ty Lawson and will likely split time with Randy Foye (quadriceps) in the long term when Foye returns to health.

Nelson will be traded to the Nuggets, Yahoo! Sports reports.

It was not a great fit for Nelson in Boston, as the Celtics were not interested in using the veteran point guard in their current competitive cycle. Nate Robinson departs Denver in the move, so Nelson should take over the backup point guard duties for the Nuggets.

Nelson has been nearing a return, but was sidelined once again on Saturday. Trade rumors regarding Nelson have been circulating over the past few days, so it's possible he'll be moved to a contender well before the deadline.

Nelson will in fact be inactive for Friday's game against the Pacers, the Boston Herald reports.

Nelson has been dealing with a minor ankle injury, although his two most recent stints on the inactive list are less about his health and more about coach Brad Stevens' vision at this point in the season. The veteran could certainly play a role if the Celtics were in playoff contention, although that seems unlikely and so Stevens is affording younger guards like Marcus Smart and Phil Pressey time on the court with a more long-term goal in mind. Unless Nelson gets moved again before the trade deadline, he may be in store for a quiet second half of the season.
