Though coach Brad Stevens hasn't confirmed as much, it seems the Celtics are prepared to enter the season with a starting frontcourt of David Lee and Tyler Zeller, with Olynyk, Jared Sullinger, Jonas Jerebko, and Amir Johnson left to contend for minutes off the bench. Neither Lee nor Zeller are overwhelming superior options to those bench players, so expect Stevens to utilize a rather deep rotation of big men, at least initially. As a result, Olynyk could still come close to seeing the 22.3 minutes per game he averaged in 2014-15.

Hopefully for the Celtics and Olynyk, there are no lingering effects as the NBA season creeps closer. He's slated to serve as a depth player in Boston behind David Lee, Jared Sullinger, and Amir Johnson.

They have an amazing amount of mediocre depth that will likely lead to their players cannibalizing each others' minutes from game to game, and that won't help year-long or daily fantasy players in most leagues.

The tournament doesn't begin until August 31st, and Team Canada doesn't play their first match until the first of September. Olynyk should be fully recovered by the start of training camp, but the Celtics' frontcourt depth dampens his playing time. It should also be noted that Olynyk is suspended the first game of the season for dismantling the shoulder of the Cavaliers' Kevin Love.
