Snell has started eight games this season, averaging 6.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.6 steals in 27 minutes per game. Those numbers are not great, especially considering he played so many minutes. While his per-minute numbers aren't likely indicative of his true ceiling -- Jimmy Butler used to get the "you haven't earned the right to shoot" treatment from coach Tom Thibodeau, too -- Snell is currently only a 3-and-D specialist for the Bulls, limiting his value even in daily games where his salary is likely near the minimum.

Snell is the beneficiary of injuries to Mike Dunleavy (ankle) and Kirk Hinrich (toe). The second-year player will likely see an extended role on the court for as long as at least one of those players is confined to the bench.

Snell has been in and out of the starting lineup this season, although Mike Dunleavy's impending return from a lingering ankle injury will likely demote Snell to the bench for the remainder of the season, assuming injuries don't plague the Bulls.

Snell will yield his spot in the starting five to Kirk Hinrich. In his last four games, Snell has failed to hit at a 50 percent clip on any occasion, during which he's averaged 6.8 points (on 34 percent shooting), 2.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 0.8 steals in 22 minutes.

Snell returned to the starting lineup Friday, but didn't produce much again. The Bulls have a lot of offensive weapons, so don't expect Snell to contribute much offensively even when he does start. When Mike Dunleavy (ankle) is finally able to return, expect Snell to return to a very limited role off of the bench.

Snell will get the start at small forward Friday, the Arizona Republic's Paul Coro reports.

Nikola Mirotic got the start in the Bulls' previous game as the team still tries to make up for Mike Dunleavy being out. Snell typically sees between 20 and 25 minutes, regardless of his role, and offers middling scoring and three-point production.

Snell got the start again Sunday and he put up seven points, one assist, and one block in 22 minutes on the floor.

Snell has been in the starting lineup of late and has had moderate production. Over his last four games, Snell is averaging 10.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. Kirk Hinrich saw more minutes than Snell on Sunday, but there's no indication that Snell's spot in the starting lineup is in jeopardy at this point.

Snell got the start Thursday and had 12 points (4-11 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), three rebounds and two assists in 34 minutes on the floor.

Snell could see more starts if he continues to play well and Kirk Hinrich continues to struggle. He isn't a great shooter but can help out with some rebounding.

Snell will start against the Spurs on Thursday, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The CD-DNP is somewhat perplexing, as Snell had averaged 29 minutes per game over his previous three outings. Though Snell has little value in most traditional fantasy formats, he is often a relevant daily games performer. Daily gamers should monitor this situation over the coming days, to see if any official explanation for Snell's Friday absence emerges.

Even with Derrick Rose (knee) back in action, Snell will remain in the starting lineup. In his first start of the season Saturday against the Bucks, Snell put up two points (1-7 FG, 0-4 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists, and one block in 32 minutes. While his workload may suffer, his line is unlikely to suffer too much.

With Derrick Rose (hamstring) out Saturday, it opened up some minutes for Snell in the guard rotation. The only time Snell gets any sort of significant playing time is if the Bulls are not at full strength and even when he does, he's not producing much.

Snell was hit with the dreaded "DNP Coach's Decision" Thursday against the Raptors, just three games after he appeared in only 22 seconds of action.

Snell has played in a combined 15 minutes in the past four games. He doesn't appear to have any ailments at this time, and started out the season playing in 17 and 23 minutes, respectively, in the Bulls' first two games. Snell should see more time, though, after the Bulls' bench only produced 12 points Thursday, with 10 of them coming from Taj Gibson.

Snell played a season-low 22 seconds Wednesday against the Bucks and did not fill any columns on the stat sheet.

Snell barely made it onto the court Wednesday in what marked the first game for the Bulls this season where they had their full complement of guards and small forwards. Expect Snell to be mostly be anchored to the bench when everyone is healthy.
