Snell scored seven points (3-11 FG, 1-6 3Pt) to go along with six rebounds, one assist and one steal in 28 minutes Monday against the Cavaliers.
Snell saw more action than normal Monday with Jimmy Butler (thumb) out of action. When Butler returns, expect Snell to see limited minutes again.
Sat Jul 19 201422:19Tony Snell drops 20 points in loss on Sat.
Tony Snell scored 20 points vs. the Kings on Saturday with three rebounds, three assists, one steal and three 3-pointers.
He said he's going to work on his 3-point shooting and his defense this offseason, both of which are going to be extremely important for him to get minutes with the Bulls. Snell will likely backup Jimmy Butler and Mike Dunleavy on the wings.

Sun Jul 13 201422:10Tony Snell fires up 22 shots, scores 23
Tony Snell was launching shots from all over the court vs. the Nuggets on Sunday, making 9-of-22 from the field for 23 points with four rebounds, four assists and five 3-pointers in 32 minutes.
He needed just 14 shots to score 27 points on Saturday and he continues to take plenty of treys. That is going to be a huge part of what the Bulls need now that they're so deep at the forward spots. Snell is not going to be worth drafting in most fantasy formats.

Sat Jul 12 201422:45Tony Snell drops 27 points vs. Clippers
Tony Snell made 10-of-14 from the field for 27 points vs. the Clippers on Saturday to go with four boards, one steal and five 3-pointers.
He owns summer league and an 89.3 effective field goal percentage tonight is one heck of a way to start. Snell is likely going to come off the bench again next season.

Thu Apr 3 201410:30Tony Snell must 'play defense and make shots'
Tom Thibodeau said that rookie Tony Snell needs to "play defense and make shots" to keep his spot in the rotation.
"You've got to be consistent, be able to do things day in and day out. Those are things he has to improve on," Thibodeau said. Snell was averaging seven minutes per game before Wednesday, when he came off the bench for seven points in 22 minutes, and there's no reason to think he'll sustain any value at the end of Thibodeau's bench.

Tue Feb 25 201422:39Tony Snell plays 35 minutes in start at SF
Tony Snell scored 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting with one 3-pointer, three rebounds, five assists and one steal in Tuesday's win vs. the Hawks.
The lanky rookie logged 35 minutes in another start at SF with Jimmy Butler (ribs) unavailable. Butler is day-to-day, however, so there are no guarantees that Snell will be useful to fantasy owners when the Bulls host the Warriors on Wednesday.

Sun Feb 23 201418:10Tony Snell disappoints in loss to Miami
Tony Snell started in place of Jimmy Butler (ribs) on Sunday with six points, three boards, three assists and two 3-pointers on 2-of-10 from the field.
Coach Tom Thibodeau pulled him out a little earlier in the third quarter for some sub-par play, but he did make it back into the game. Snell's defense was his best asset coming out of the draft and Ray Allen taught him a thing or two about how to get open without the ball. Butler isn't expected to miss much time, meaning fantasy owners can leave Snell on the wire in most leagues.

Sat Jan 18 201423:37Snell scores 13 points off the bench on Sat
Tony Snell scored 13 points off the bench on Saturday against the Sixers, hitting 4-of-12 shots (including three treys) with one rebound and two assists in 30 minutes.
Snell has been about as up and down (mostly down) as one can get, but as a rookie playing behind a bunch of injury prone dudes on a team with nothing to play for he's worth a look.

Wed Jan 15 201423:17Tony Snell plays 40 minutes vs. Magic
Tony Snell played 35 minutes in Wednesday's triple-overtime victory against the Magic with 15 points, seven boards, two steals and three 3-pointers.
He shot 6-of-12 from the field and has at least 50 percent in each of his last two games. Snell is in a bit of a timeshare with Mike Dunleavy, but the extra frames pushed Tom Thibodeau to play the rookie a little more. He has a green light from deep, which puts him on the radar in deeper leagues.

Sat Jan 11 201423:09Tony Snell goes scoreless in start at SG
Tony Snell started at SG on Saturday with Jimmy Butler (quad) unavailable, but he went scoreless without any rebounds, assists, steals or blocks in 17 minutes.
For an idea of Snell's offensive role, consider that 55 of his shots are coming from beyond the arc, with only 19 percent coming in the restricted area. He has intriguing fantasy potential but as a rookie it's unwise to rely on him for more than a handful of 3-pointers.

Wed Jan 8 201401:09Tony Snell plays 21 minutes off bench
Tony Snell played 21 minutes off the bench against the Suns on Tuesday, scoring 12 points with four boards and two 3-pointers.
He only played 5.0 minutes per game over his previous three, but he'll be picking up some minutes now that Luol Deng is in Cleveland. The Bulls have allowed him to take several 3-pointers when he's out there, so he's worth a look in deeper leagues. Snell's defense is a little ahead of his offense and he's certainly going to have his inconsistencies.

Tue Jan 7 201409:43Snell to be 'biggest beneificiary' of trade
ESPN Chicago says Tony Snell figures to be the biggest beneficiary of the Luol Deng trade.
The Bulls' front office is reportedly "high" on Snell. So far this season, he's averaging 5.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.9 3-pointers while playing just 18.7 minutes per game. With Deng and his 37.4 minutes now gone, expect Snell's minutes to spike closer to 25 or 26 -- giving him some deep league appeal. However, owners should note that he's a better defender than offensive player right now. As a junior at New Mexico last season, Snell averaged 12.5 points, 2.9 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.8 treys per game. Mike Dunleavy is going to soak up plenty of Deng's minutes as well.

Tue Jan 7 201404:37Tony Snell to see a boost after Deng trade
Tony Snell should see a boost in minutes and production after Luol Deng was traded to the Cavaliers.
We still don't know if Tom Thibodeau is going to start Mike Dunleavy or Snell at small forward, but it's possible Snell wins the job if they want to keep Dunleavy in the role of sixth man. Both players are worth grabbing in most leagues, and because Dunleavy is likely already owned in yours, Snell makes for an interesting prospective grab as well.

Wed Jan 1 201403:05Tony Snell did not play on Tuesday night
Tony Snell did not play against the Raptors on Tuesday night.
He was a DNP-CD and apparently his services will not be needed with Luol Deng back. Snell can be cut in almost all leagues until the Bulls inevitably are bitten by the injury bug again.

Sun Dec 22 201310:52Thibodeau praises Snell after 17-point effort
Tony Snell scored 17 points with five 3-pointers, five rebounds, three assists and one steal on Saturday, prompting Tom Thibodeau to say it was "probably his best game as a pro."
"I loved the way Tony played tonight," said Thibodeau. "He did not force anything. He shot when he was open, passed when he was guarded. He competed defensively." Jimmy Butler (ankle) has no clear return date and Thibodeau is known to lean heavily on the players he trusts, so Snell could be in for some solid numbers in the Bulls' two games this week.

Sat Dec 21 201323:50Tony Snell scores 17 in start for Bulls
Tony Snell started in place of Jimmy Butler (ankle) and had 17 points, five rebounds, three assists, a block and five 3-pointers on 5-of-11 shooting.
Butler's ankle isn't in good shape and he could miss more games. And as long as he's out, Snell is worth a short-term look in most leagues.

Thu Dec 19 201323:08Tony Snell plays 41 minutes off the bench
Tony Snell started the second half for the Jimmy Butler (ankle) on Thursday, finishing with 10 points, eight boards, one assist, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers during a 107-95 loss to the Thunder.
He attempted 11 shots from downtown tonight, which has been a trend for the rookie. Despite not being known as a shooter in college and not lighting it up in summer leagues, 53.4 percent of his field goals have been from beyond the arc. Snell dropped his season 3-point shooting percentage to 30.9 tonight and he's cooled off since his strong start. That said, if Butler needs to miss time, the rookie is worth a look in some formats.

Tue Dec 10 201323:51Tony Snell scores 13 points in start
Tony Snell played 38 minutes against the Bucks on Tuesday, scoring 13 points with six boards, three assists, two blocks and one 3-pointer.
He was better on defense than he was on offense, but this line wasn't too shabby. Snell had a career-high six boards and 14 field goal attempts in the loss and continues to grow in his rookie season. His mid-range game has been solid while all of his 3-point makes have been assisted. Snell might have a tough time keeping this up, so if he's still out there on your wire, it's probably for good reason.

Mon Dec 2 201323:51Tony Snell cools off in loss on Monday
Tony Snell cooled off in Monday's loss to the Pelicans, playing 22 minutes for six points, one rebound, two assists and two 3-pointers.
He hit two treys in the second quarter and didn't do anything else on offense in a triple-overtime game. Snell hasn't really shown much of an offensive game in his pro career and scoring 13 or more in his two previous games had a lot to do with him hitting 3-pointers. Coach Tom Thibodeau went with more of Mike Dunleavy tonight, so it looks like it'll be a hot-hand approach at shooting guard until Jimmy Butler gets back.

Sat Nov 30 201322:15Tony Snell scores 18 points in another start
Tony Snell started at shooting guard again on Saturday and hit 7-of-12 shots and three 3-pointers for a career-high 18 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal.
That makes three starts in a row and he's been getting better with each one, going for 9, 13 and 18 points in each of his last three games. The only problem is that Jimmy Butler is going to be back sooner than later, which simply has to slow Snell down. But if you're in a very deep league, he might be one of the better wire options in your league, with or without Butler.
