Fri Jun 15 2012 | 09:54 | Ryan Raburn will be part-timer |
Tigers manager Jim Leyland plans to use the recently recalled Ryan Raburn in a part-time role. |
Raburn was batting .146 when the Tigers sent him down last month, and he was recalled Thursday despite hitting just .194 at Triple-A Toledo. "I'll be frank," said. "It's not as if Raburn went down there and tore it up. But we don't have (enough) right-handed hitters. He'll have to do something, though. He's not going to be the every-day second baseman. I'll play him like I think he plays best, which is probably part time." Raburn should probably be owned in AL-only leagues, but he's not a recommended fantasy play right now. |

Tue May 15 2012 | 18:04 | Ryan Raburn hits first homer in victory |
Ryan Raburn contributed a three-run homer and an RBI single to the cause as the Tigers beat the White Sox 10-8 on Tuesday. |
Finally! Raburn, who had six homers in his first 26 at-bats this spring, went his first 96 at-bats without one during the regular season. Back-to-back multihit games have raised his average all of the way to .162. He's lucky Brandon Inge didn't get hot until after getting his release from the Tigers. |

Thu May 10 2012 | 05:27 | Raburn makes Mendoza look like Carew |
Ryan Raburn went 0-for-3 on Wednesday, lowering his batting line to an inconceivable .130/.200/.169. |
The good news is that Raburn's batting average is dropping by fewer points each day. But that's like saying the Twins' playoff hopes keep diminishing in smaller increments. The fact is, Raburn is off to a legendarily poor start, and has looked even worse in May, during which he is 2-for-23 (.087) with one walk and 11 strikeouts. |

Ryan Raburn will get regular at-bats at second base following the release of Brandon Inge. |
Raburn was on the strong side of a platoon before, but the Tigers now see him as a everyday player. There's the chance for real fantasy value here given his past power production, but the 31-year-old is batting just .128 with zero homers and one RBI over his first 47 at-bats this season. |

Ryan Raburn went hitless for the sixth time in seven games Friday against the Orioles. |
The spring was just too long for Raburn, who is 1-for-19 since hitting his sixth homer on March 20. It doesn't look like he'll enter the season on a hot streak after all. |

Sat Mar 17 2012 | 16:20 | Ryan Raburn hits fifth spring homer |
Ryan Raburn went 2-for-4 and hit his fifth homer Saturday against the Cardinals. |
Raburn is 10-for-21 with five homers and 15 RBI. He should have second base pretty much to himself for the Tigers in the early going. Still, we're not exactly expecting big things from the veteran. He is a decent enough power hitter, but his batting average and OBP will likely leave plenty to be desired. |

Ryan Raburn went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Nationals. |
Raburn smacked a two-run homer off Edwin Jackson in the top of the first inning and later added an RBI single in the fifth. He is now batting .467 (6-for-15) with four homers and 15 RBI this spring. Brandon Inge looms as a threat for playing time at second base, but we would much prefer Raburn from a fantasy perspective. |

Sun Mar 11 2012 | 17:46 | Ryan Raburn homers, doubles versus Phillies |
Ryan Raburn had a two-run homer and an RBI double as the Tigers and Phillies played to a 4-4 tie in 10 innings Sunday. |
The homer came off Cliff Lee and the double off Jonathan Papelbon, so Raburn certainly wasn't feasting off lesser lights today. He was already being penciled in at second base for the Tigers before the spring began, and he's only aided his cause by hitting .500 with three homers and 11 RBI to date. |

Sat Jan 7 2012 | 08:48 | Tigers to go with Raburn, Santiago platoon |
The Tigers plan to go into the season with Ryan Raburn and Ramon Santiago as their second base platoon, according to MLB.com's Jason Beck. |
Raburn is entering the second half of a two-year contract signed last winter and will be used primarily at second base with Santiago this season. His share of the playing time remains in question. The Tigers agreed to a minor league contract with journeyman Eric Patterson earlier this week and could view Patterson as insurance if they decide not to make any upgrades through free agency. |

Fri Oct 14 2011 | 23:04 | Raburn, Inge to start Game 6 for Tigers |
Ryan Raburn and Brandon Inge will be in Detroit's starting lineup for Game 6 of the ALCS. |
The news comes as no surprise given starter Derek Holland's ineffectiveness against right-handed lineups. Raburn is batting .333 with two home runs and 5 RBI this postseason. Inge has fared well in limited action this series, going 4-of-8 with a .442 slugging-percentage. |

Ryan Raburn provided the Tigers entire offense in Game 2 of the ALCS, going 1-for-3 with a three-run homer. |
The Tigers simply couldn't put anything together on offense, going 8-for-35 (.229) with four extra base hits. The bottom of their lineup remains an area of concern going forward with Alex Avila slumping and Andy Dirks proving to be ineffective both offensively and on defense. |

Ryan Raburn went 4-for-5 with a home run, double and three RBI on Monday, helping the Tigers to a 14-4 rout of the White Sox. |
Raburn was one of four Tigers with at least two RBI. Entering this evening, Raburn he been just 2-for-13 in the month of September. He's too inconsistent to be playing in mixed leagues down the stretch. |
