Jimenez (10-9, 4.24 ERA) played with fire throughout as six walks is often a recipe for disaster against the heavy-hitting Jays. He did an excellent job of limiting the damage and his mates put up 10 runs of support. No longer a pure power pitcher, Jimenez now relies on command of the strike zone and that has been inconsistent, leading to equally inconsistent results. He pitcher very well early in the season, but he is a risky play right now.

Jimenez fell to 9-8 after allowing seven runs on 10 hits and a walk over 5.2 innings in Monday's loss to the Royals. He struck out three.

Jimenez induced 12 ground balls, but when the Royals got the ball up, they made it hurt. Royals hitters combined for four extra-base hits against Jimenez, including his 17th home run. Jimenez has only served up more home runs once, his disastrous 2012 season with Cleveland. Jimenez's ERA jumped to 4.26 as a result of the disastrous outing.

Jimenez labored through five innings Wednesday against the Mets, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks while striking out six.

He received no decision thanks to a comeback by his offense against budding Mets ace Noah Syndergaard, thus escaping without a loss despite not pitching well for the second consecutive start. Maddening inconsistency is par for the course with Ubaldo, and there's no telling what we'll see from him next week against the Royals.

He has had some excellent starts for the Orioles this season, but predicting when one of those will pop up is very difficult.

Jimenez reminded owners of his tremendous 2010 season with this performance, as he racked up six strikeouts while completely shutting down the dangerous Angels lineup. The 31-year-old had given up at least six runs in three of his last four starts coming into this game, but you would never have guessed he's been struggling recently based on this performance. Jimenez isn't known for his consistency, but he's been even more erratic than usual of late, making him hard to trust in fantasy at the moment. It took him a whopping 118 pitches to get through this outing despite the dominant effort, so it's very possible he has a bit of a letdown in his next start Friday against Oakland.

Jimenez endured his seventh loss of the season Sunday against the Tigers, allowing six runs on six hits and a walk in just 4.2 innings.

The right-hander rebounded from a three-run first inning, but ran into trouble again in the fifth when he allowed three more runs with two outs before being pulled. Jimenez has now allowed 22 runs in just 18.2 innings in his last four starts and has raised his ERA to 4.04. Things won't get any easier, as he will face the Angels on the road in his next start.

Jimenez picked up his eighth win of the season against the Braves on Tuesday after seven innings of work where he struck out three and only allowed four hits, two earned runs, and three walks.

Tuesday's appearance on the mound for Jimenez served as a stark contrast to his last two games where he lasted a combined seven innings before getting shelled for 15 hits and 14 earned runs. Despite a little bit of momentum now behind him, the 31-year-old native of the Dominican Republic has a tough test ahead of him since he's scheduled to face the Tigers this weekend, a team that's currently in the MLB's top four in runs scored, hits, runs batted in, and batting average.

Jimenez lasted just 2.1 innings Thursday, allowing seven runs on eight hits with three walks and two strikeouts against the Yankees.

Jimenez was lit up for the second start in a row and raised his ERA a whole run in the process. The Orioles are rumored to be involved in the trade market for a starter. While Jimenez has been fairly good on the season, a couple more bad starts could put his rotation spot in jeopardy. Keep in mind the Orioles knocked him out of the rotation and left him off the playoff roster just last year.

Jimenez (7-5, 3.29 ERA) has posted respectable numbers for the Orioles so far this season, but he continues to suffer lapses of command. At times, those lapses manifest themselves in too many walks and higher pitch counts, and in other outings - like this one - the repercussions are evident in too many pitches left out over the plate leading to too many hits and a tendency to serve up home runs (the Tigers blasted three).

Jimenez tossed five shutout innings, however he allowed seven hits and three walks which resulted in his departure after just five innings. He struck out five in the game against the Twins on Wednesday afternoon.

Jimenez (7-4, 2.81 ERA) has been a very pleasant surprise for the Orioles so far this season, but he still occasionally suffers lapses in command. He needed 110 pitches (just 66 for strikes) to cover five innings in this one, and while he left with a 1-0 lead, the bullpen quickly gave that away. He is securely entrenched in the O's rotation, and will look to continue his success in the second half.

Jimenez fanned four and walked two while holding the White Sox to one run on six hits over seven innings Friday.

Although he pitched very well in a tough road environment, John Danks combined with Jacob Petricka and David Robertson to shut out the Baltimore offense Friday. As a result, Jimenez's record fell to 7-4 on the season. With a career-low 7.4% BB% this season, Jimenez has turned things around after a dismal 2014 campaign with Baltimore. Through 16 starts, he's posted a 2.96 ERA backed by a 3.23 FIP, providing significant profit for those who rolled on the dice on him as an endgame target on draft day, or as an early-season waiver wire addition. Jimenez will close out his first half against the Twins at Target Field on Wednesday.

Jimenez earned his third straight victory Tuesday, holding the Red Sox to three runs in five innings.

Jimenez wasn't at his sharpest, but it was enough to stymie Boston in this one. The veteran hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in a start this month, but control issues have crept up on Jimenezhe's allowed 13 free passes this month after walking six last month. His next start will come this weekend against the Indians.

Jimenez gave up three earned runs on eight hits across 6.2 innings pitched in Wednesday's win over Philadelphia.

Jimenez didn't walk a batter and struck out eight on his way to win number five on the season. He was brilliant, and now holds a record of 5-3 with a 3.27 ERA. Jimenez will look to stay hot in Boston in his next start.

Jimenez allowed three runs on six hits, walking two and striking out six over five-plus innings of an 11-3 win against the Yankees on Friday night.

Jimenez (4-3, 3.19 ERA) has now struggled with his command in back-to-back starts. He needed 104 pitches (62 for strikes) to cover the five-plus innings, but his mates provided plenty of offense to give him his fourth win. To be effective these days, Jimenez needs solid command so he will need to get things in order if he wants to maintain the good performance he has provided so far this year.

Jimenez battled his control Saturday but escaped with a no-decision, getting charged with just one run on six hits and six walks over five innings. He struck out five.

He hadn't walked more than two batters in any of his previous seven starts, so hopefully Saturday's wildness was an aberration. Jimenez will try to get back on track Friday at home against the Yankees.

Jimenez held the Indians to one run in five innings despite allowing six hits with six walks and five strikeouts, but he did not figure in the loss Saturday.

The high walk rate is nothing new for Jimenez, who has starts like this peppered throughout his career. It is new, however, for Jimenez to have a game like this in a season in which he did not walk more than three batters in any of his first 10 starts. Jimenez walked six batters in the entire month of May spanning five starts. His consistency has been there this season, so hopefully Saturday's start is just a blip on the radar.

Jimenez struck out eight and walked two while holding the Astros to two runs on four hits over six innings Monday night.

He did not factor in the decision, however, as the O's bullpen was tagged for three runs upon Jimenez's departure in the seventh inning. Jimenez remains out of the most pleasant surprises in the league this season, boasting a 55:16 K:BB over 57.2 innings in 10 starts while posting a 3.12 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. He'll make his next start in Cleveland on Saturday.

Jimenez gave up four runs on 10 hits, walking one while striking out five over seven innings, in a no-decision against the Astros on Wednesday.

Five of the season-high 10 hits Jimenez allowed went for extra bases, the last of which was a two-run home run by Evan Gattis that tied the game with two outs in the top of the seventh inning. Jimenez's ERA has jumped 71 points over his last two starts (from 2.43 to 3.14), but those that took a chance on the 31-year-old have to be thrilled with the returns to this point.

After falling behind 3-0 and tossing 87 pitches (59 for strikes) over just four innings, Jimenez was lifted for a pinch hitter, and the Orioles rallied to win. He has a very respectable 2.82 ERA, and has been a pleasant surprise for Baltimore this year. He can still display inconsistent command, and he is not the pure power pitcher he was a few years ago, but he is making a run at fantasy relevance again, and warrants consideration as a back-of-the-rotation starter in deeper leagues.

Jimenez got out-dueled by Matt Shoemaker on Saturday, and he took the loss despite allowing just two runs on seven hits over seven innings. He struck out six.

It's his fourth quality start in seven outings, and Jimenez now has a sterling 2.43 ERA and 38:12 K:BB ratio in 40.2 innings on the season. He'll try to keep his momentum in his next start on Friday in Miami.
