Sun Aug 9 201502:53Joseph 2-4 with double and home run against Angels on Saturday
Joseph went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run against the Angels on Saturday.
The catcher tied his RBI total from 2014 at 38, and now has one more home run in 70 games this year than he did in 82 last season. He continues to bat towards the bottom of the order, but that's more a reflection of the potency of Baltimore's lineup than of any shortcomings Joseph may have at the plate. Joseph's .258/.329/.452 triple slash line makes him worth a look in most formats.
Sun Aug 2 201512:08Joseph out of lineup Sunday against Tigers
Joseph is out of the lineup Sunday against the Tigers.
Joseph has essentially been playing every other day since the return of Matt Wieters. That pattern will continue Sunday as he's awarded a day off, even though he homered in Saturday's contest.
Sun Aug 2 201509:04Joseph 2-3 Saturday with eighth home run of season and three RBI
Joseph went 2-for-3 Saturday with his eighth home run of the season and three RBI.
He continues to catch just about every other day in order to protect Matt Wieters, but Joseph's numbers this season suggest that he could be a useful fantasy asset if he ever got a real shot at the starting job.

Joseph went 1-for-4, smashing a two-run home run off of Matt Moore in a 5-2 victory over the Rays on Sunday.
Joseph got the start in place of Matt Wieters who had been dealing with a stiff back. The back-up catcher has played sporadically as of late, making just six appearances in the last 13 games and has recorded just three hits, one of which a home run, during that span before Sunday's contest. It doesn't appear as if Wieters' injury is significant, so Joseph's time behind the plate may once again be relegated to spot starts.

Joseph was 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored, three RBI and a home run as the Orioles defeated the Yankees on Friday night.
As he did last year, Joseph has filled in admirably while Matt Wieters rehabbed from elbow surgery. He has five home runs and 19 RBI to go with a .248 average, but his playing time has dwindled since Wieters returned earlier this month, and could continue to take a hit as Wieters builds the strength necessary to catch fulltime.
Sun Jun 7 201511:46Joseph out of lineup Sunday against Indians
Joseph is out of the lineup Sunday against the Indians, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
With Matt Wieters (elbow) back behind the plate for the second time in three games since his return from the DL, it looks like Joseph will settle into a backup role, which probably limits his fantasy value to AL-only leagues. Joseph has done a credible job up to this point in serving as the Orioles' primary backstop, slashing .239/.321/.377 across 157 plate appearances. If Jimmy Paredes eventually flops as the Orioles' regular DH, Joseph could enter the picture for at-bats at that lineup spot.
Wed Jun 3 201518:09Joseph out of lineup Wednesday against Astros
Joseph is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Astros.
Joseph will receive the day off Wednesday after three straight starts behind the plate, with Steve Clevenger taking his place and batting sixth for the Orioles. With Matt Wieters' return on deck in the next couple days, Joseph will likely return to a backup role.
Sat May 30 201512:49Joseph out of lineup for Saturday's game against Rays, per MASN'...
Joseph is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rays, per MASN's Roch Kubatko.
Chalk it up to catcher rest, as Joseph has caught every day since last Sunday. He missed the second half of a doubleheader Thursday, but it's hard to count that as a real missed start. Steve Clevenger will take over behind the plate instead.
Thu May 28 201516:20Joseph out of lineup for second game of Thursday's doubleheader ...
Joseph is out of the lineup for the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the White Sox, the Baltimore Sun's Dan Connolly reports.
Joseph went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the first game of the doubleheader, and he'll likely be back in the lineup for Friday's game against Nate Karns and the Rays. However, Joseph figures to get a rest at some point this weekend, as he's now caught a game four consecutive days.
Sun May 24 201512:44Joseph out of lineup Sunday against Marlins
Joseph is out of the lineup Sunday against the Marlins, Rich Dubroff of CSN Baltimore reports.
Joseph will receive his normal rest after starting the first two games of the series. Ryan Lavarnway steps in as the catcher, serving as the battery mate for Miguel Gonzalez.
Sat May 23 201500:53Joseph 3-4 with pair of runs scored, and two RBI in Orioles win ...
Joseph was 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored, and two RBI in the Orioles win over Miami on Friday night.
He's getting the bulk of the playing time behind the plate having started eight of Baltimore's last nine games, and he has been fairly productive with 16 RBI and a .279 average. However, with Matt Wieters nearing a return from the disabled list (anticipated to be in early June), his playing time may decline somewhat.
Fri May 22 201517:24Joseph back in lineup Friday against Marlins
Joseph is back in the lineup Friday against the Marlins.
Joseph got the day off Thursday afternoon after catching Wednesday night against Seattle. He'll reclaim his spot behind the plate Friday and bat eighth in the order.
Thu May 21 201510:45Joseph out of lineup Thursday
Joseph is out of the lineup Thursday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
Joseph has been seeing a lot of action behind the plate for Baltimore, starting the last seven games. He gets a well-earned day off Thursday with Ryan Lavarnway starting behind the dish and hitting ninth.
Sun May 10 201510:57Joseph back in lineup Sunday against Yankees
Joseph is back in the lineup Sunday against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Joseph received a normal day of rest Saturday after making the previous eight starts for the Orioles, but he'll slot back in behind the dish to catch for right-hander Bud Norris in the series finale. He enters the game with an impressive .311 batting average and .907 OPS for the season.
Sat May 9 201511:29Joseph out of lineup Saturday against Yankees
Joseph is out of the lineup Saturday against the Yankees, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports.
Joseph will sit following eight straight starts as Ryan Lavarnway steps in behind the plate. With seven hits, including two home runs, in his first 25 at-bats of May, Joseph is now batting .311/.407/.500 through 22 games this season.
Sun May 3 201510:54Joseph stayed hot in Saturday's win over Rays, hitting home run ...
Joseph stayed hot in Saturday's win over the Rays, hitting a home run and drawing a walk.
Joseph's triple slash line is now at an improbable .327/.439/.509. However, he only has two home runs out of that, obviously isn't a base-stealer, and his current place in the Orioles' lineup means he's not going to get many runs or RBI. His BABIP is also at .390, a massive uptick from his career .274. See if someone wants to buy high on him.
Sun Apr 26 201511:41Joseph out of lineup Sunday against Red Sox
Joseph is out of the lineup Sunday against the Red Sox, Rich Dubroff of CSN Baltimore reports.
Joseph has gotten off to a nice start (.311/.467/.436 batting line) as the Orioles' primary catcher option in place of Matt Wieters, but like any other backstop, he'll still be rested around two times a week for maintenance purposes. Ryan Lavarnway will step in behind the plate for Sunday's day game.
Thu Apr 23 201515:42Joseph out of lineup Thursday
Joseph is out of the lineup Thursday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
This is just a standard day off for Joseph and Ryan Lavarnway will get the start behind the dish. While Joseph is hitting an impressive .333 on the season he also has a .414 BABIP, so regression is coming. However, walk and strikeout rates stabilize fairly quickly, and Joseph is walking at a 14.9 percent clip while striking out less than 20 percent of the time. This makes him quite useful in OBP leagues.
Mon Apr 20 201509:25Joseph not in lineup for Monday's game against Red Sox
Joseph is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports.
Joseph will get a day off after catching the last six games for the Orioles -- a span over which he went 10-for-19 with four RBI. Ryan Lavarnway will get the start behind the plate in Joseph's place.
Sat Apr 18 201510:53Joseph 1-3 with solo home run, first of season, in Friday's win ...
Joseph went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, his first of the season, in Friday's win over the Red Sox.
Joseph is no Matt Wieters at the plate, but he is filling in nicely in the offensive categories in the early part of the season. He is hitting .370/.452/.630, and while those numbers are above his ceiling and will not last, the offensive boom has been nice, especially for any owners who may have handcuffed Joseph to Wieters.
