Plouffe had two of the Twins' five hits Friday off Seattle's Felix Hernandez for his third mult-hit game in his last five outings.

Plouffe had just four hits in his first nine games, but he appears to be finally finding his stroke with 10 hits in his last 19 at-bats, including two doubles and a home run.

Plouffe is not in Saturday's lineup against the Indians, Tyler Mason of Fox Sports North reports.

Plouffe is sitting against Danny Salazar, who he's hit 1-for-11 with a home run against. This can likely be chalked up to a day off, with Eduardo Nnez instead getting the start at third.

Plouffe went 1-for-5 with a game winning home run in the 11th inning in Friday's win over Cleveland.

Plouffe has had the winning hit in three of Minnesota's last four walk-off wins. He's hitting just .143, but does have two home runs in ten games.

Plouffe hit his first homer (and the Twins' second of the season) in Monday's loss to the Royals.

Despite the homer, Plouffe's overall line is an ugly .130/.259/.304. He has a lot of company among those struggling for the team right now.

Plouffe started at first base for the first time in three years and went 0-for-4 in Sunday's loss to the White Sox.

Joe Mauer got a semi day off at DH, while Eduardo Escobar played third base with Plouffe moving to first base. Plouffe may not play many games at first base, but he's in the mix when Mauer plays DH or gets a day off.

Plouffe went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in Wednesday's loss to the Tigers.

Plouffe endured a rough spring showing, slashing .196/.258/.304 with just two RBI and 13 strikeouts in 18 games. He doesn't appear to be in any jeopardy of losing playing time just yet, but with top prospect Miguel Sano possibly in line to make his big league debut later this season, the 29-year-old may need a strong offensive start to ensure he stays in the lineup throughout the season.

Plouffe went 1-for-3 with his first home run of the spring in Tuesday's win over Baltimore.

Plouffe had been off to a slow start to the spring as he's hitting just 3-for-21. However, Plouffe looks secure in his third base job to begin the season with top prospect Miguel Sano optioned to Double-A. Sano likely needs at least a few months in the minors after missing last season due to Tommy John surgery. However, it looks like the Twins plan to keep Sano at third base which could mean Plouffe may not have great job security should he struggle in the first half of the season.

Plouffe said Friday that he's fully recovered from the broken left forearm he suffered Sept. 24, MLB.com reports.

Moreover, Plouffe said he was able to start his offseason workouts earlier this month, right on schedule. Coming off a season in which he hit .258/.328/.423 with 14 homers and 80 RBI, while also showing improved defense at third base, Plouffe is locked in as the Twins' starter at the hot corner. When asked about star prospect Miguel Sano (elbow) pushing Plouffe for the job late in the year or in 2016, GM Terry Ryan said, "I don't think he should worry about that at all. [Plouffe's] a guy that done the job at the major league level. Sano's going to have to end up coming in and pushing."

Plouffe (forearm) and the Twins avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $4.5 million deal Friday, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Plouffe provided Minnesota with a nice combination of walk rate and isolated power last year, walking 9.1 percent of the time and posting an ISO of .165. He also showed improved fielding skills in 2014, solidifying his case to remain an every day player for the Twins in 2015. His forearm injury is expected to be a non-issue by spring training.

Plouffe, who had surgery at the end of September for a fractured left forearm, has resumed all baseball activities, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Plouffe missed the final week of the season with the injury, but he's expected to be fully healthy for the start of spring training. He enters spring training set as Minnesota's starting third baseman.

He declared that he would not need surgery last week, but that was apparently not the case. Still, it's good to know that it shouldn't affect his availability next season.

Plouffe Tweeted on his personal account that he will not require surgery on his injured forearm.

Instead, doctors will allow Plouffe to take the rest-and-recovery route with the forearm, with healing likely to take six-to-eight weeks. That timetable would allow Plouffe to begin his offseason training program in early November, putting him on track to enter spring training at full health.

Plouffe's season is over after he left Wednesday's game with a fractured left forearm, Fox Sports North's Tyler Mason reports.

He suffered the injury when A.J. Pollock's knee made contact with Plouffe's forearm during a tag play at third base. Eduardo Nunez, who replaced Plouffe on Wednesday, will likely finish out the season as the Twins' third baseman. It's currently unclear whether Plouffe will be ready for spring training.

Plouffe left Wednesday's game after hitting his left forearm on A.J. Pollock's knee as Pollock was sliding into third base, the Star Tribune's LaVelle E. Neal reports.

He was replaced by Eduardo Nunez at third and should be considered day-to-day until more about the injury is revealed in the coming days.

Plouffe is out of the lineup Wednesday against the White Sox.

Plouffe owns a relatively mediocre 2-for-11 career line against opposing starter John Danks, which may have factored into manager Ron Gardenhire's decision to rest him. Eduardo Nunez is set to occupy third base in Plouffe's stead.

Plouffe was 1-for-3 with a solo home run in the Twins' loss to Baltimore on Friday night.

There wasn't much for the Twins to cheer about in this one, but Plouffe did pop his 11th home run while continuing his hot hitting for the month of August. He's now batting .249 with 65 RBI and could provide fantasy owners with a little production down the stretch.

Plouffe (.245/.312/.407) hit his tenth homer of the year on Friday against the Tigers, as he went 3-for-6 with four runs scored and three RBI.

Poor Andrew Romine just tried to do his part, taking one for the team on a night where Tigers pitching gave up 20 runs. Fortunately for Plouffe, he was able to pad his stats on the night with a 422-foot blast off Romine, normally an infielder. Plouffe is currently on pace for career bests in at-bats, runs and RBI.

Plouffe is out of the lineup Sunday against the Royals, LaVelle E. Neal of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Plouffe will get the day off Sunday following an 0-for-4 night at the plate Saturday. Eduardo Escobar will start at third base and bat eighth for the Twins.

Plouffe (foot) is back in the lineup Monday in Houston, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Plouffe was raking in August (.394/.487/.545 with one homer, nine RBI, and six runs in 33 at-bats) prior to fouling a pitch off his left foot Saturday, resulting in an absence Sunday. X-rays were returned negative, though, and he'll assume his regular role at third base and bat seventh in the order.

Plouffe's X-ray came back negative Sunday, leaving him day-to-day, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports.

Plouffe was out of the lineup Sunday for the first time since July 25, which was the first indication he was injured. The foot issue likely won't force him on the disabled list however, which is good news for the Twins. He is currently listed as day-to-day, but it's unclear how long he will need to sit before returning to the lineup.
