Peacock (ribs) will throw a live BP session Saturday at Double-A Corpus Christi, Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Peacock continues to progress in his recovery from an intercostal strain, and he threw a successful bullpen session Friday, tossing 25 pitches and emerging without significant discomfort. The Astros hope to have him back sometime later this month, but he's currently without a firm timetable.

Peacock (ribs) threw a bullpen Friday and everything went well, the Houston Chronicle's Jose de Jesus Ortiz reports.
This was his first bullpen session since landing on the DL. He threw 25 pitches (21 fastballs, four changeups) and said he felt great. He will likely throw a few more such sessions before embarking on a rehab assignment and could be an option to rejoin the Astros' rotation sometime this summer.

Peacock (intercostal strain) has resumed throwing, MLB.com's Brian McTaggart reports.
Peacock has only done some light throwing from short distances, but he did say that he's feeling better. He still needs to ramp things up before the Astros can think about sending him on a rehab assignment.

Peacock (intercostal strain) had a PRP injection on his side Thursday, Jose de Jesus Ortiz of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Peacock was placed on the disabled list retroactive to Apr. 15, and there hasn't been much in the way of updates on his status. The Astros don't have a scheduled starter for Friday's game against the Mariners, but the most likely solution is to recall Asher Wojciechowski from Triple-A Fresno. Peacock is likely at least a couple of weeks away from returning.

Peacock was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a left intercostal strain.
It's unclear when exactly Peacock suffered his injury, as nothing was noted following his start Tuesday. He began the season on the disabled list after undergoing offseason hip surgery, and will return there after just one start. The Astros recalled Asher Wojciechowski to take his place in the rotation.

Peacock took the loss Tuesday after permitting three runs on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts over five-plus innings against the A's.
Peacock allowed one run through five innings, but Oakland chased him from the game in the sixth after he gave up a walk and a run-scoring double to start the inning. Most importantly, however, he made it through the start without any setbacks after the Astros cut his rehab assignment short to insert him back into the starting rotation. Peacock is likely to make his next start at Seattle on Monday.

Peacock (hip) was activated from the DL and will start Tuesday's game against the A's.
The Astros thought better of starting Asher Wojciechowski against Oakland and will instead turn to Peacock, who missed nearly all of spring training while recovering from hip surgery. Peacock struggled mightily in four starts against the A's last season, allowing 13 earned runs on 21 hits and 19 walks in 19 innings, but he didn't allow a hit while fanning five over 4.2 innings in his rehab start for Triple-A Fresno.

Peacock (hip) will start in Tuesday's game against the Athletics.
Peacock was previously on the 15-day disabled list and will actually be returning to the mound for the Astros a bit earlier than expected. Originally Asher Wojciechowski was on tap to pitch Tuesday but he'll head down to Triple-A in order to make room for Peacock moving forward.

Peacock (hip) will in fact need multiple rehab starts before rejoining the Astros, the Houston Chronicle's Evan Drellich reports.
He will make his first rehab start at Triple-A Fresno on Thursday and if he only needs two such starts, he could be in line to rejoin the Astros for their series in Seattle that starts Apr. 20.

Peacock (hip) will make his rehab start at Triple-A Fresno on Thursday, MLB.com's Brian McTaggart reports.
Peacock may only need one outing in the minors in order to demonstrate that he's sufficiently recovered from the injury. The right-hander's impending return to the Astros' rotation would potentially bump Roberto Hernandez or Asher Wojciechowski to long relief.

Peacock (hip) will embark on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Fresno at some point near the end of the week, Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Peacock remains on track for a possible mid-April return, but the result of his rehab outing should provide a better determination of the future.
Wed Apr 1 201510:32Peacock (hip) placed on 15-day DL Wednesday
Peacock (hip) was placed on the 15-day DL Wednesday, the Astros' official website reports.
Peacock's DL stint will be backdated to March 30, allowing him to return as soon as the second week of the season. As part of his recovery, he'll start the first game of the season for Triple-A Fresno on April 9.
Sun Mar 29 201519:19Peacock's (hip) outing well Sunday
Peacock's (hip) outing went well Sunday, and he was pleased with the way his body responded, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Peacock is slated for a mid-April return, but made a positive step Sunday by pitching in his first Grapefruit League game. Assuming nothing turns up over the next few days, there's no reason to believe the timetable has changed.

Peacock (hip) will make his Grapefruit League debut Sunday in a relief role, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Peacock is currently slated for a mid-April return, but it's a good sign that he's returning to a major league mound Sunday. He's believed to be securely in the starting rotation when he returns.

Astros general manager said he expects Peacock (hip) "to be ready by mid-April to join the rotation or (pitch) a couple of rehab starts in (Triple-A) Fresno," Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Luhnow's comments suggest Peacock has a starting rotation spot waiting for him upon his return from injury, which could mean a short-lived rotation role for Brett Oberholtzer or whomever wins the fifth starter job between Asher Wojciechowski and Roberto Hernandez.
Mon Mar 23 201511:51Peacock (hip) will instead pitch Tuesday due to rain
Peacock (hip), who was scheduled to pitch three innings in a minor league game Monday, will instead pitch Tuesday due to rain, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Peacock will likely open 2015 on the DL, but he's targeting an April return to the Astros. The 27-year-old right-hander went 4-9 with a 4.72 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 119:70 K:BB in 131.2 innings last year.

Peacock (hip) expects to pitch three innings in a minor league game Monday, Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Peacock will take the next step in his recovery early next week, but even if things go well, he's still likely open 2015 on the DL. A return in April is not out of the question, however, and there may be a spot available in the rotation when he's activated.
Wed Mar 11 201511:59Peacock (hip) threw successful 40-pitch live bullpen session Wed...
Peacock (hip) threw a successful 40-pitch live bullpen session Wednesday, the Houston Chronicle's Evan Drellich reports.
The next step will be at least one more live bullpen session before potentially pitching in some spring games. The general feeling is that Peacock will open the season on the DL, but he could return sometime in April. There may not be a spot available in the rotation for Peacock initially, but the back of the Astros' rotation will probably be fluid for much of the season, so he should eventually get his turn.
Mon Mar 2 201517:16Peacock (hip) could throw live batting practice early next week
Peacock (hip) could throw live batting practice early next week, Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Peacock has been able to throw bullpen sessions without experiencing any discomfort so far, and seems to be progressing well as he rehabs from hip surgery in October. He's still not expecting to be ready by Opening Day, but throwing a batting practice session would be another positive step forward.

Peacock (hip) noticed no discomfort Thursday while running a day after throwing his second bullpen of camp, Jose de Jesus Ortiz of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Peacock ran for 20 minutes on the Alter-G treadmill, which allows runners to control the weight bearing on their joints. He experienced "a little bit of awkwardness" in his hip during a similar running session on Monday, but his positive results Thursday indicate he's prepared to move forward in the recovery process. After throwing 20 and 25 pitches in his previous bullpen sessions, Peacock will throw 30 pitches in his next session Saturday.
