Thu Jun 27 201317:02Brayan Pena has RBI single in loss to Angels
Brayan Pena went 2-for-4 with an RBI single Thursday against the Angels.
Pena, a .253 career hitter, is now batting .304 with two home runs, four doubles and 14 RBI through 115 at-bats this season. The Tigers want Alex Avila (forearm) to take his time during his minor league rehab assignment so that he can find his swing, so Pena should continue to have value in AL-only leagues for the short-term.

Thu May 23 201300:42Pena has three hits, Tigers beat Indians 11-7
Brayan Pena went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in the Tigers' 11-7 victory over the Indians on Wednesday.
Pena doesn't play much -- Wednesday was just his 14th game of the year -- but when he does, he usually hits. His three-hit game raised his average to .304, and with starting catcher Alex Avila struggling it may mean more at-bats for Pena in the near future.

Sat Mar 30 201316:26Brayan Pena homers, triples
Brayan Pena had a two-run homer and a triple Saturday against the Rays.
The Tigers could have and should have done better than Pena as their backup to Alex Avila behind the plate, but they signed him back in December when there were still plenty of alternatives available and never did bring in any competition. He finishes the spring batting .188 with three homers.

Fri Sep 21 201223:57Brayan Pena plates two to lead Royals
Brayan Pena made the most of his opportunity to start on Friday, delivering two hits and a pair of RBI in the Royals 6-3 victory over the Indians.
He finished the night 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and two RBI. Pena drew the start with Salvador Perez unavailable while he tends to a hand injury. His RBI single got the Royals on the board in the second inning, then he delivered an RBI double in the eighth, providing valuable insurance.
