Benoit struggled in his last outing Apr. 27, allowing three runs on two walks and two hits. It looks as though that can partially be chalked up to the dead arm. There was no indication of whether or not a DL stint will be required, consider him day-to-day for now.

Bennett got the win on Friday in a 1-0 victory over San Francisco, pitching a scoreless top of the eighth before the Padres scored in the bottom of the inning.

Benoit was displaced as the Padres closer by the trade for Craig Kimbrel, but he will still pitch high leverage innings that will yield holds and he should strikeout his fair share as well.
