Sat Dec 29 201223:15Okafor goes off with 18 boards and 11 points
Emeka Okafor had a season-high 18 boards to go with 11 points and two blocks in 36 minutes against the Bulls on Saturday.
Okafor has double-doubles in three of his last four games and played at least 29 minutes in each of those games. There's probably enough of a body of work to grab Okafor in some standard leagues. Kevin Seraphin wasn't too shabby in 28 minutes with 12 points and six boards and also is worth a look in standards.

Wed Dec 26 201222:38Emeka Okafor goes for 17-10-4 in loss
Emeka Okafor hit 8-of-14 shots for 17 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks in 30 minutes on Wednesday.
That makes two straight double-doubles for Okafor, and while we don't trust him and Randy Wittman, it could be time to grab Okafor if you're hurting a center. Over his last five games, Okafor is averaging 10.6 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.

Sat Dec 22 201221:53Okafor posts 14 & 14 in another Wizards loss
The Wizards fell again on Saturday despite Emeka Okafor's 14 points, 14 rebounds, one steal and two blocks in 29 minutes.
Washington has lost seven straight to fall to 3-22 on the season, but at least they kept this game vaguely competitive after getting demolished by Detroit on Friday. As for Okafor, his usual trickle of big man stats (7.1 points, 5.8 boards, 1.2 blocks) makes him a borderline option in 14-team leagues.

Sat Dec 15 201200:14Okafor returns to a bench role on Friday
Emeka Okafor followed up his season-high 19-point effort from Wednesday with just two points, five rebounds, two assists, and one block in 17 minutes on Friday against the Lakers.
Okafor has been woefully inconsistent this season and his injury history should be enough to keep most owners away.

Thu Dec 13 201202:07Emeka Okafor goes off for 19 points
Emeka Okafor hit 9-of-12 shots for a season-high 19 points to go along with six rebounds, two steals and two blocks in his best game of the season on Wednesday.
Kevin Seraphin's minutes suffered with Okafor getting hot, but we'd still clearly like to own Seraphin over him at this point. Just keep an eye on Okafor in case this wasn't a fluke. This was just his fifth game of the season in double-digit scoring, and his first in eight games.

Sat Dec 8 201222:06Emeka Okafor invisible in start on Saturday
Emeka Okafor played only 12 minutes in another start at center on Saturday, finishing with two points and zero rebounds.
Okafor may be starting in the middle, but Kevin Seraphin (14 points, five rebounds in 29 foul-plagued minutes) is the guy absorbing most of the playing time. With Nene back in the picture there's not much upside for Okafor, who has just two blocks in his past five games.

Tue Nov 27 201202:06Okafor quiet in start against the Spurs
Emeka Okafor moved into the starting lineup in the Wizards' 118-92 blowout loss to the Spurs on Monday, but managed just four points and three rebounds in 23 minutes.
Okafor didn't record a steal or block and has lost whatever shine he had early on in the year. Look for Randy Wittman to continue to experiment with his rotations, but starting or not Okafor is a low end option in deeper formats until proven otherwise.

Sat Nov 24 201222:54Emeka Okafor posts 11 points, seven rebounds
Emeka Okafor gave the Wizards a lift off the bench on Saturday, notching 11 points, seven rebounds and one block in 21 minutes.
Okafor has been struggling this season, and he had played a grand total of 25 minutes in the past two games, making him an unlikely source of reliable value. Ignore him unless you're desperate for blocks.

Tue Nov 20 201200:56Okafor benched in the second half
Emeka Okafor played just nine minutes on Monday against the Pacers, and was brought off the bench to begin the second half.
Okafor scored one point on a free throw and missed four field goal attempts, and had just one rebound to show for his effort. This is the type of effort that will be tough to recover from in terms of fantasy value, and he can be dropped for a productive player.

Fri Nov 9 201223:30Okafor productive against the Bucks
Emeka Okafor was productive on Friday against the Bucks, posting three blocks and three steals to go along with 11 points and six rebounds in 35 minutes.
Okafor has been off and on so far to start the year, but is worth a look if you need a big man. Just remember that he's a big injury risk and has Kevin Seraphin and eventually Nene (foot) to push him.

Sat Nov 3 201221:35Emeka Okafor limited by Seraphin's return
Emeka Okafor finished Saturday's game with only three points and seven rebounds in 17 minutes.
Okafor made 1-of-6 field goals and his limited playing time seems to be a direct consequence of Kevin Seraphin's return from a calf injury. His outlook only gets worse with the eventual return of Nene (feet), and owners should begin scouring the waiver wire for a suitable replacement -- Seraphin seems to fit the bill.

Tue Oct 30 201221:43Emeka Okafor plays well in start
Emeka Okafor had 10 points, seven rebounds and four blocks in a start at center on Tuesday.
That's a decent line from the big man, but keep in mind he'll hurt your free throw percentage, and also take a hit once Nene and Kevin Seraphin are healthy again for the Wizards.

Mon Oct 29 201214:57Emeka Okafor to start at center for Wizards
The Wizards will start Emeka Okafor at center on Tuesday, according to Sam Amico.
This isn't surprising in light of Washington's injury woes, but Okafor's fantasy appeal is limited by his horrendous FT shooting, as well as uncertainty about his health after a bum knee ruined his 2011-12 season.

Tue Oct 16 201200:30Okafor starts and scores 12 points
Emeka Okafor (food poisoning) returned to action and scored 12 points in the Wizards' preseason loss on Monday, hitting 6-of-11 shots from the field with six rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes.
It's good to see that his knee could handle extended minutes, but with no steals or blocks it's an empty preseason performance, nonetheless. Unless he starts to turn some heads in Washington, there's no reason for owners to pay attention to Okafor on draft day.

Mon Oct 15 201219:10Okafor to start Monday's game vs. Nets
Emeka Okafor (food poisoning) will start Monday's exhibition against the Nets.
Martell Webster, Jan Vesely, Bradley Beal, and Jannero Pargo join him in the lineup. Okafor has missed about a week with the illness, but the real question is how his knee is going to hold up over the course of the year. Regardless, his poor FT shooting, pedestrian production, and lack of expected playing time make Okafor a guy to ignore on draft day.

Sat Oct 13 201222:50Okafor out Saturday w/ food poisoning
Emeka Okafor sat out another game on Saturday with food poisoning.
Okafor became ill after eating a room-service hamburger, but this shouldn't linger long enough to impact his regular season outlook. The veteran big man needs to prove that his knee injuries are behind him, and even then his atrocious FT shooting limits his fantasy appeal.

Fri Oct 12 201213:36Emeka Okafor still out of practice on Friday
Emeka Okafor (stomach virus) did not practice on Friday.
Okafor has lost 12 lbs as a result of the bug, but at least he should be okay in a few days . With Nene (plantar fasciitis) having no timetable for a return, Okafor should play a sizable role early in the season.

Thu Oct 11 201217:55Okafor sidelined by food poisoning
Emeka Okafor won't play in Thursday's game due to food poisoning.
The good news is that Okafor's knee, which ruined his 2011-12 season, hasn't been an issue lately. He should be fine in a few days.

Tue Oct 9 201215:13Emeka Okafor returns to Wizards practice
Emeka Okafor returned to Wizards practice on Tuesday after missing time with a sore knee.
Okafor's knee ruined last season for him, but he's getting healthy again. They may need him as Nene continues to deal with plantar fasciitis.

Sun Oct 7 201211:48Okafor will not play in preseason opener
Emeka Okafor will not play in the Wizard's preseason opener on Sunday.
It's just a "veteran's day off," according to Rick Bonnell. The Okafor injury front has been quiet, so all signs point to him and his balky knee being ready for the season. A few things need to be worked out before we sign off on targeting him at the end of your draft.
